  • i was in this concert. timpany for this particular song. an amazing experience.

  • This performance hall is absolutely amazing. The acoustics are godlike and the organ above the stage is absolutely gorgeous looking and sounding. Playing on this stage is a very special thing and I hope all these players realize it like I realized it yesterday and the day before while playing in the symphonic band at PLUs honor band weekend this year. <3 Gorgeous.

  • @M3TALL1CAL0V3R

No. It was for his mother. We played this in band, and our director read the little passage thing to us: ". . . Her life was a noble song of quiet courage. With those words, Larry Daehn dedicated this composition to the memory of his mother. . . "

Regardless, it is a purely beautiful song. Great job to the band here. They put so much emotion into it, and it's just... Perfect.

  • this is beautiful but the melody was covered at 3:30.:(

  • Wow it sounds really good.

  • So this is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard, we played it in my 7th grade band. I noticed that in this band there is one major problem. Everyone is hitting their notes and rhythms but no one is moving their phrases or anything. It sounds so much better when people don't just play the music and actually play it musically. Other than that great job

  • @danohen1997 agree

  • daaaaang such a big band

  • i think they sound beautiful. my school is playing this for Large group competition and it doesn't sound like they're rushing it at all. my school is playing it much faster and we sound horrible lol

  • I think that you guys are rushing the most beautiful song ever, one tip I can give you is watch the director. We are playing this in my band right now, so pretty

  • @smileyfan16

i think that they are rushing a tad, but i almost believe that the conductor is contributing to the fault: his motions and directing styles aren't very annunciated... thus leading to the students not having as strong of a visual metronome

  • This is definitely one of the most beautiful songs I've ever played.

  • I'm playing this for school band. I'm in the seventh grade, can anybody help me with measure 25, that's our only issue is 25-33 and 41 to the end. this is like my second favorite song we're doing. These guys do awesome. Hey, check out the Japanese kids, their awesome. they don't even have to look at their music, they learn it all by ear it's amazing!!! And clarinet on this song SUCKS!!! lol, take it from someone who knows how difficult it is.

  • im playing this song for uil i freaking love this just like in the shining of the stars :)

  • This song is really moving and awesome. I love it. I played it during Honor Band this year. =D

  • i'm in the 7th grade and were playing this at my school. were beast.

  • try being in 7th grade and being first chair horn when you've only been playing french horn for 1 year and being the most important instrument

  • We just got the music today and the saxophones have lead!!!

But I didnt have a clue how the melody goes so thank god for this video lol

  • you guys are rusing the pretty song....the players need to oayattention to the director!!!

  • my band is playin this song for our winter concert and we play it pretty awesome!! im really excited to play it and you guys sound pretty.

  • this is very nice. i'm playing this in my band and i'm the only tuba.

  • Great job! We attempted to do this in jr. high. i was in the wind ensemble and play oboe and we had like 25 people and a very strange instrumenttaion. i love this song its really pretty.

  • your rushing

  • that was pretty good :D good job

  • you guys have lots of bassoons lol

song sounds great, by the way!

  • our marching band is playing this, for this years balled, and i can't wait, i'm one of the drum majors of the band

  • this is so beautiful. My band just got back from touring Europe where we played this song and others in beautiful churches all across Europe. This brings me back to good times.

  • beautifullllllllllllllllllll

  • im playing 2nd horn on this and it is a powerful peice and my band plays it well

  • We're playing this song for an upcoming concert and I'm playin the trumpet solo part!! Woo!

    Ps. this song is great!

  • i love this song too i play bari also and man i was holding it down lol bari is the best...but u gotta admit the french horn part is gorgeous this song was hard for our band we almost didnt make it

  • i love this song...

  • Very professional :)

  • I am in there playing!! I play Bari Sax, and Just graduated from North Mason High School.

  • WHOO!!! BARI!!!! lol. Im playing the Bari part for this too for Allcounty. Its annoying though cause hes not going to conduct this piece, so we have to start by watching the 1st clarinet breathe in. thats our que to breathe in and start. And we have to listen to the 8th notes to stay in tempo.

  • wonderful piece love it im playin this for an

8th grade band concert hope were this good

  • One of my favorites.

    I love it.

  • I played this in band for a contest back when I was in middle school in the concert band. Very, very touching piece. One of the parents in the crowd began to cry. When I listened to this, I did, too. Excellent. Very well done.

  • i love this song i am playing this song for band and i think it is very touching he wrote it for his mother and that just makes me want to cry wonderful preformance by the way!

  • excellent performance! when I played this I had to play the mallet percussion and I liked so much.

  • This song makes me cry and I don't even know why!

  • The guy who put together this masterpiece dedicated it to his mother, who had cancer and then lost her battle against cancer, and he always thought she had "quiet courage" through it all. Very sad and lovely piece, my band is playing it this year and so excited to preform it!

  • Another piece I played (twice) in High shcool that ranked among my favorites.

    Great job with it.
