Wow, simply beautiful! I've been to Reno quite a few times during the winter. But I never been there during the summer. I should visit some time during the summer, since I love thunderstorms and being a Californian, going to Florida or the Midwest is quite far :D
I grew up in Reno and while they might not be all that frequent, the thunderstorms here can be very powerful and sometimes even have medium sized hail. The thing that beats other parts of the USA is that the air is so dry u can see every dynamic of the storms as they form and its amazing
hey I live in Reno too and do you people remember the one time where we had that realy bad thunderstorm with the hail and the hard rain it was like 4 years ago.
@laketahoerocks123 Yeah, I was there too.....it was the same storm in this video....july 21st 2006........one of the biggest thunderstorms and electrical storms to hit here in a LONG time.
to schweizer523, I think they mean degrees in Fareinheit, not celsius. Yes, in celsius you would die in that kind of heat, but farenheit is a different measurement...not as hot!
Gorgeous sunset Tstorm video after that huge clap with this gal standing by windowsill... BTW...just 3 days before your own 7/21/06-Reno Tstorm... I myself videotaped a huge lightning show here in southern RI on 7/18/06 11pm... lotsa lightning and worthy putting onto YouTube !!! Hope to show it soon.
So do I...as you read my posting here on Thanksgiving Day '07..I got over 850 audio- videotapes of live Tstorms going way back to 4/27/73 when GAS was all but 45.9 cents per gallon!!! I love audio-videotaping Tstorms, MMWTO !!! My addiction too.
i hate it when the sun is out and there is still thunder and lightning like once there was like a big giant black cloud and half blue sky and half black cloud and there was still rumbles of thunder really scary well not to me anymore
July 21, Reno-Sparks Lightning Show: A cluster of strong thunderstorms moved across the city during the evening hours, producing heavy rain, local flooding, and a few reports of hail. However, this storm was most notable for its extreme lightning production. Over 1000 cloud to ground lightning strikes were reported across the city in less than two hours. Widespread power outages occurred across much of Sparks, Spanish Springs, and the North Valleys
