Dude, Grindcore IS punk. It's just got a metal influence. And Siege is Powerviolence { influenced by D.R.I. }, which is basically a MUCH faster version of Hardcore Punk. Powerviolence and Crust Punk { Influenced by Discharge, Crass, and Venom } were both big influences on Grindcore.

If you have to play the label game, SIEGE were not Powerviolence, it wasn't 'invented till '91 by Man Is The Bastard and Neanderthal.... SIEGE were just brutal hardcore of the highest order, you don't retrospectively stick old bands into modern genres, kind of sucks.
