@jptributer Oh, ok, it just looked like it was directed at me. Anyway, he can live 100% fossil fuel free with his houses AFTER they've been built. My family almost does that (around 80%). We use a wood chip burner and wood chips from sustainable forestry (so it's CO2 neutral) and we heat our water and house that way. Our only CO2 sources are electricity (Denmark has around 25% from sustainable sources) and our cars (two). So he can too if he wants to since he can afford more if he wants to.

I love his movies. And me as a director approach filmmaking the way he does and Avatar was pretty to look at and did 3D the right way. Still he has no right to tell us how we should live. Most likely either oil or coal fired powerplants, meaning it doesn't make ANY difference if he drives an electric car or not, if the electricity doesn't come from sustainable sources. @jptributer Oh, ok, it just looked like it was directed at me. Anyway, he can live 100% fossil fuel free with his houses AFTER they've been built. My family almost does that (around 80%). We use a wood chip burner and wood chips from sustainable forestry (so it's CO2 neutral) and we heat our water and house that way. Our only CO2 sources are electricity (Denmark has around 25% from sustainable sources) and our cars (two). So he can too if he wants to since he can afford more if he wants to.

But I feel that with him spreading awareness to people that aren't aware of it yet, means that the people are mostly likely not the smartest people around, and those are the people that are affected by hypocrisy the most. It's a "sail" boat. His houses "are" powered by solar energy that generates so much electricity that he gives what he doesn't use to the local power grid. There is plenty of vegetation around his houses to make up for what was destroyed to build it. Not to mention his family and relatives live in those houses. He drives a hybrid most of the time. I refuse to buy or watch any of his movies, he does not need my money. Have never seen Titanic, and will never see any of his others, especially Avatar. He could make the greatest movie ever made, it does not matter. May he go broke.

@4limitedgov I can like them for different reasons for each movie. for Avatar I've heared the message so many times and loved it every time that I no longer care who gives me the message or in what way. in Terminator I doubt there was really a message to begin with. in Titanic he was just showing how lives can be changed by disasters like the titanic, and for aliens I saw it as nothing but a scifi horror with no real messages. I haven't seen any other movies he made though.

Regardless to the point, that I don't believe in 'man-made climate change', I live on less!
