This had potential really when they announced it i thought finally... but now since blizzard north which made first two diablos does not exist and all the crew from there are not in blizzard anymore i think that D3 is going to be a huuuge let down. Diablo series is supposed to be dark, horror like gothic game, all this cartoony, flashy stuff makes it look like world of warcraft. As the matter of fact entire games stinks of WOW influence which is TERRIBLE! I think this game is overproduced, late.
you cannot play Diablo 3 without an internet connection you must ALWAYS be connected to server, so what if you have a crapy internet connection? what if you dont have internet?
what if you have a laptop and the wifi card isnt working? what if you only have so much downlode speed at one time?

Well yes, businesses exist to make money. If you don't want to use the real cash system, then don'. Sure a lot of people will, but they'll still need gold for repairs and such. Gold selling ramps up prices on most WoW servers (for comparison)
@redoctane13 Gold selling/buying happen in every mmo, it's not something that's likely to ever stop, but if they can put a dent in it, then that's better for everyone that plays it. It's a no brainer for them to make money off of it, if more mmos had the real cash option, you would see less gold spamming and likely lower prices in the games all around. And well, it does sucks bit to have to be online all the time, but if you have a connection that can't handle it, you shouldn't buy it.

@Nitroxxas Hell man, I wish WoW looked this good. While there are some dark parts in wow (as in creepy etc) there is nowhere NEAR this level of detail or gore. This is far more realistic looking than wow has ever been outside of cutscenes. And for what similarities there are, well you have some of the same art team members & programmers so similarities between titles within a studio are to be expected. Just enjoy it!

Pop cultural references aside, most content, lore and even world maps (or reinterpretation thereof) in WoW has been pulled straight from the Warcraft series, and the tabletop universe to a lesser extent.

WoW came as an MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game). Blizzard used the game play of Diablo, and the theme of warcraft to create World Of Warcraft. The only difference is they put it online, but you could already do that with Diablo anyway.

You don't sound like a veteran, I'm not even a Blizzard fan and I know WC3 was released after D2.

When did WoW come out, oh wait wasn't that not in the year of 2001. "Warcraft: Orcs & Humans" Game was in year 1994 which is not World of Warcraft. Besides Diablo is a stage based game, Not a Open World Based game. Big differences there people. So if you post anything about how Diablo 3 is a rip of WoW you need to be shot.

@hudg7630 There won't be a playable Assassin. In it's stead there is the Demon Hunter, which is a bit like Assassin,+ Amazon (bow) and some Gadgeteer from the Mythos beta, e.g. bombs, traps, grenades etc.

I mean Witch Craft is basically Necromancer. Curses, summons, DoTs random skeleton stuff they wear. :P

@BadLadJon actually I think most (to all) the shit in wow came from warcraft 1 and 2, three of the warcraft franchise games were released 4 years before the first diablo released with warcraft 3 at the same time, having played all diablo games and warcraft games and being a wow veteran, I can accurately say all the content is from the warcraft prequels with a few diablo easter eggs here and there. @BadLadJon This is understandable if you hadn't played the Warcraft RTS franchise, which predated Diablo. Pop cultural references aside, most content, lore and even world maps (or reinterpretation thereof) in WoW has been pulled straight from the Warcraft series, and the tabletop universe to a lesser extent.

@TheInsanityExecutive The warcraft trilogy is RTS (real-time strategy), and the Diablo series is action/RPG (roll playing game). WoW came as an MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game). Blizzard used the game play of Diablo, and the theme of warcraft to create World Of Warcraft. The only difference is they put it online, but you could already do that with Diablo anyway.

@TheInsanityExecutive Actually WarCraft 3 was released 2001, Diablo 1 was released around 1996 and Diablo 2 was around 1999 or 2000. So, both D1 and D2 were released BEFORE WarCraft 3. WoW talent system is taken from Diablo 2 trees. Also, WoW Itemization system (green, blue, epic, sets) was taken from Diablo 2 (but different colors). You don't sound like a veteran, I'm not even a Blizzard fan and I know WC3 was released after D2.
