  • When I heard Justin Bieber became a singer, I saw the lightning flash! I heard the thunder roll! I felt breakers crashing, swamping my soul! I fell down on my knees! And I cried, "My God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

  • We are not in church mr clark!! Lmfao

  • Rest in Peace to the legendary Lynn Thigpen..her last movie was anger management in 2003 with adam sandler

  • WELL PUT TOGETHER MOVIE!

  • One of the angry mother's is Lynn Thigpen (a.k.a The Chief from Carmen Sandiego)

  • only time where 2 generation of PBS alum are seen (Easy Reader meets The Chief)

  • you're a fascist Clark! lol

  • @TheWheels777 WHAT?? lol

  • @evans1977fly that's what one of the people in the crowd yell out in the beginning of the clip

  • @TheWheels777 lol gotcha.

  • Someone in the background says "Sit down". Funny as hell!!

  • the doors of the church are open

  • @agip07 lol

  • the best scene I have ever watched. I love movies like these.

  • the comments in the background are funny

  • we need to THROW THOSE BASTARD'S OUT of Washington DC AND THAT'S ALL I'M GONNA SAY

  • joe clark is the man, we need to send him to washington and clean house

  • Morgan Freeman missed his calling. He shoulda been a preacher.

  • @PigfootAbernathy Actually he should have been president and keep this SAME personality in the White House that we so desperately need!

  • @tee23en I know, I was asking why it never happened. It seems like it would have been perfect casting.

  • Why did Morgan Freeman never make a Martin Luther King Jr. bio film?

  • @idgafjavi06 he's too old to play the part

  • Up until now, I thought he was great that Mr; Clark. Saw this film for the first when I was around 8 or so. Now that Mr. Clark...I'm not sure...Yes, he has a certain charisma, he knows how to convince people, he has a big support base but is he really thàt..He kicks out people from school, he can not stand other opinions and I mean he did use the chains..I wonder: will those pupils be more ready for the real world or are the grades for East Side High more important. I'm confused...What a movie!

  • Mrs. Barrette and every parent like her should focus on improving themselves and their kids then on improving the school system

  • 1 dislike = Mrs. Barrette

  • Mrs. Barrett's performance was very good also. She started with PBS just like Morgan Freeman. Unfortunately she passed away a few years ago.

  • the black lady is luna from bear in the big blue house haha

  • I just searched up the 'Dora the Explorer' theme song, now how did I get here?

  • I cried "My God, why has thou forsaken me?" and the Lord said "Joe, you're no damn good. No, I mean this! More than you realize, you're no earthly good at all unless you take this opportunity and do whatever you have to." And he didn't say "Joe, be polite".

  • Lol get em off welfare i love that part.

  • @Dcdatruth85 If they need help that's one thing, but I doubt any one of these parents even have a job. Either that or the woman can't keep her damn pants ON.

  • "WE ARE NOT IN CHURCH MR CLARK!!!!!!"

  • Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego...

  • "My son ain't no bad apple!"

  • That woman with the hairent in her hair definally hasn't had her clock punched in a long time!

  • " HE INSULTED THE BLACK FOOTBALL COACH " !!!!.....LOL.

  • @DL261

Really she's pissed because he insulted the black football coach, while the school is so bent and corrupt that it's overrun with gangs and drug dealers. She needs to get her priorities straight

  • The only other actor I can think of that would've played this role to a T is Jack Nicholson. One the other hand, Jack Nicholson probably would have done better.

  • @ejr23 Playing a black man?

  • @JeffHardy642 Just because Joe Clark was black that doesn't mean you need an African American actor. Do you think Hollywood cares about details like that? Look at some movies today vs these days.

  • @ejr23 Yes he does. This si a real person not a fake one. There is a real Joe Clark that the movie was based off of. So the only other actor who could have played this was Denzel Washington. You can play some fictional characters in any race. But not real people from history. Of course then they would finally find actress of color to play Cleopatra. But that is another subject.

  • "And he didn't say, 'Joe, be polite.'" LOL! What an awesome movie. Morgan Freeman is such a great actor and John G. Avildsen is a brilliant director.

  • "tu estas podrido!" hahaha You go Joe Clark

  • lol at ''My son ain't no bad apple!''

  • moose chewing ice....lls!!!!!!!!!!

  • rest in peace, lynne thigpen.....she was a stick of dynamite in this film!!!

  • @hevyonez97 Yeah she was a wonderful actress, and I miss her. "Shaft" may have been her last film..

  • @hevyonez97 I agree she did a great job!

  • Now I have a question regarding Mrs Barrett. She had all that time trying to get rid of Joe Clark, but she didn't have the time to teach her child? If that was the case, that child would still be at Eastside High.

  • @charlestonchewy yep, she'd have a 38 yr old senior in high school living at home w/ her now :-)

  • Ms. Barett looks so DaMN UGLY.....she looks like a moose chewing ICE!!!!!!

  • AMEN MR CLARK!!!!!!

  • That woman looks like Antone Donson. That guy from the bed intruder song.

  • Morgan Freeman for president 2012.

  • @LynchMobster47 I agree

  • :05: That actress died, didn't she?

  • @Krazy3912 Yes she did. That's Lynne Thigpen. She was also the DJ in "The Warriors," although you only saw her lips on the microphone as she was announcing the Warriors' movements against the other gangs. I think her last film was "Anger Management" with Adam Sandler and Jack Nickolson.

  • @Krazy3912 yes, she already died awhile back.

  • @portlanddem They Buried her in Joliet Illinois

  • @Krazy3912 yes, in 2003

  • "AND THAT'S WHY I THREW THOSE BASTARD'S OUT AND THAT'S ALL I'M GONNA SAY" classic line

  • SIT DOWN!!!

  • ... AND HE DIDN'T SAY JOE BE NICE!!! ....

  • i wonder if he really said that

  • @MsLoveMe27 Yes he did. The movie was based on a true story. Too bad our schools in bad neighborhoods didn't have the control that Mean Joe had on his back in the day.........

  • And the Lord said Joe, You no damn good LOL

  • One of Morgan Freeman's finest roles, and a brilliant movie!

  • 1:50

"We are not in church, Mr. Clark!!"

Freeman: "I fell down on my knees!" LOL

  • First of all, the angry mother is the late Lynne Thigpen (aka the chief from Carmen Sandiego), acting great as always in this scene. RIP Lynne

Secondly, Morgan Freeman KICKS ASS!!! :-)

  • @dknights411 Damn. I didn't know she was dead. She has an amazing actress and voice actor. She was in the Warriors as well, but all you saw was her mouth.

  • WE DONT WANT ANOTHER PRINCIPAL....WE WANT MR CLARK!

  • That barrett's a bitch on wheels!!!

  • @umpire504- I loved the line from Sams, "Yo, bitch, vote on this!"

  • They say "one bad apple spoils the bunch". Well what about 300?

  • If you type in JOE CLARK here on YouTube, you can find the REAL Joe Clark talking about this movie and the education system. He's even crazier than he's depicted in this movie.

  • That's why I threw those bastards OUT!!

  • And the Lord said "Joe...YOU NO DAMN GOOD!!!"-Freeman 2:16

    hahahahahahaha I CANT BREATH!!!!

  • Chris Christie in New Jersey for President 2012!

  • Joe, you no damn good...LOL

  • He insulted the black football coach!! The Man's gone crazy!! =p

  • No Bitch.. your boy is a criminal...

  • ....that's why I threw those bastards out and that's all I have to say!!!!

  • I got DOWN ON MY KNEES! And said, "MY GOD! WHY has thou FORSAKEN ME?" LOL Incredible.

  • preach brother preach brother

  • Freakin hillarious! We are not in church Mr. Clark! That's why I threw those bastards out! LMAO

  • i just had an orgasm watching this.

  • Having cages in the cafeteria is more different than locking the doors. The kids don't want to seem/be imprisoned while they're eating lunch. Taking the cages down gives them freedom.

Locking the doors: people knew what kind of neighborhoods the kids were coming from. By locking the doors, IMO, they were protecting them. If you've seen the movie, you see how easy it was for harmful people to get in. Putting the chains up said, "in here, you're safe".

It doesn't have to get worse.

  • @scootigger And it was ahead of its time...now you can't get into ANY school during the day withut beeping or buzzing the office, identifying yourself, and them letting you in. The doors are locked! I know because I work in several school districts right now.

  • Still love this!

  • Morgan Freeman is larger than life. He's like God...the president of the US...savior to all who need saving.

  • @juliabohemian He WAS God, AND the President of the United States LoL

    God - Bruce Almighty

    President - Deep Impact

    Well said ;)

  • @Aspetta17 Yep, Freeman is always playing respectful roles. You should see the movie, "Glory" that Freeman stars in with Matthew Broderick. Also another great movie of his.

  • @portlanddem I think he was nominated for an academy award for both movies that same year. He was excellent in both films.

  • @charlestonchewy Morgan Freeman is an awesome actor. I think every movie he is in, he plays a significant role. The man is an idol in the entertainment profession.

  • Crazy Joe for President!

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE

  • Obama needs to watch this clip!

  • That's for damn sure.

  • @blackrock1969

    why?

    He's probably seen it before.

  • @blackrock1969 I totally agree!! I think Obama would get MUCH more done and have a higher approval rating if he was a hard ass like Joe Clark was!!

  • The BEST Principal is the one who confronts the parents.

I wish I had a Principal who could say to the parent (of an out-of-control kid) "either make your son conform to our moral standard, or find him another school!"

I used to blame the kids for the behavior, until I realised the parents are the problem. If the parent never coomuncates with the teacher, then the parent doesn't give a damn.

  • ..."And I, gave my word to God. And that's why I threw those Bastards out! And that's all I going to say"... Hilarious & True!

  • damn schools today need this!

  • "And that's why I threw those bastards OUT!....." I love it!

  • "I fell... DOWN ON MY KNEES. and I cried MY GOD. "WHY... HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME?"

    LMFAO

  • dat was no child left behind 4 dat ASS!! lmao

  • "That's why I threw those basterds out, and that's all I have to say"... And he walked the hell up outta there. CLASSIC!!

  • Its funny because I never knew who her son was can someone tell me

  • JOE CLARK FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012!

  • I saw the lightning flash. I herrrrd...the thunda roll!

    A-MEN! Tell it.

  • Is transmorgraphy even a word?

  • Yes! It's TRANSMOGRAPHY, or TRANSMIGRIFY

  • Mr. Clark did the right thing. If a student just sits in class and at school all day, sells drugs, get written up, intimidates other student who are trying to learn, or even skips school numerous times, then there is no reason for them to be there. Some of the things in this movie I did not understand as a child, but now I view it differently once I graduated high school.

  • We are not in church Mr. Clark...LMAO!!!

  • HEY! isn't that the chief from "where in the world is carmen sandiego?"

  • let me rephrase that, isn't mrs. barrett the chief from "where in the world is carmen sandiego"

  • @Imwolfe2junior Yes it is. That's Lynne Thigpen

  • u read my mind!

  • @Imwolfe2junior Yeah thats her, she died in 2003

  • Well they ARE Bastards!

  • And that's why I threw those bastards out! LMAO!

    Tell it, Mr. Clark!

  • @BronkoScunkadelik "...And that's all I'm gonna say..." The most epic ending in the world.

  • Is that Beyonce Knowles mother @ 2:32 on the left side of Clarks back?

  • I love it! :):)

  • omg..joe clark should be the leader of the senate..now, HE would get things done:)

And he wouldn't be polite either..lol

  • maybe that is just what we need! :-)

  • He would tell Congress to get off welfare and start helping each other out.

  • WE ARE NOT IN CHURCH, MR. CLARK

  • Ya know if Mrs. Barrett was ridin' her son's ass like she 's ridin' Mr. Clark's, she wouldn't be there. She needs t'ride her son as opposed t'beratin' a principal fer doin' somethin' many shoulda did a long ass time ago.Fuckin' hellcat.

  • Morgan Freeman missed his calling. He should've been a preacher. I wanted to stand up and shout when went into preacher-mode.

  • What happened this morning is and outrage!!! (DAMN RIGHT in the backbround) LMFAO!!!

  • @jsquarred04

I must have seen this movie a MILLION times and Never heard that!

  • lol "MY SON AIN'T NO BAD APPLE!!!!"

  • wheres the video where mr clark goes "THAT MEANS THEY CAN BARLEY READ!"

  • watch?v=LM8GcPWyE2k&feature=related

  • Will someone please post the gym scene where the principal admonished the teachers with their hands in the air about the time they spend on lesson plans?!?!?!? Thank you!

  • "Thats why I threw those bastards out and thats all I'm gonna say"

lol! Mr. Clark was badass to say that in front of all those people

  • WE ARE NOT IN CHURCH, MR. CLARK

  • joe clark yelled 146 times in this movie lmao!!! he's the man!!

  • Thigpen was a legend. She was a goddess.

  • Morgan Freeman was so damn epic is this film. The man is truly one of the best of the best.

  • I like when Mr.Clark starts preaching.

  • @ 2:36 truth @ 3:16 LOL

  • Notice that bed-wetting liberals hate this great educater.

  • Mr. Clark was a great educator because he doesn't bow down to the liberal establishment that dominates education. He cares about the children, not his career.

  • I agree. Whenever "individual responsibility" is preached they run for the hills.

If you fail in life, or at anything, "don't blame your parents, don't blame anyone else, blame yourself. The responsibility is YOURS!"

That is just a great life lesson, and it makes you an accountable one at that.

  • "individual responsibility" is a concept lost on some blacks because white liberal bed-wetters have tolds them for forty+ years they don't have to have any!

Now all you hear from many blacks as they destroy themselves and their communities is "we be oppressed...........mmmm hmmm"

  • Well here's the deal. For some odd reason, too many people have bought into the pervaisive Western idea that somehow personal responsibility and societal accountability are mutually exclusive ways of addressing issues. On one side are idiots saying everything is the individual's fault, and on the other are other idiots who always wait for action from the power structures. They are idiots only because they fail to realize both exist and are essential for progress. So where do you fall?

  • I'm for the individual.

gov't should mend the roads, deliver the mail, defend the borders and get the f--k out of everything else!

  • "Go get your families off welfare" LMAO

  • I'd do the same thing. if they aren't there to learn after 5 years, let them go. How many 20 year olds do you know are still in high school?

  • Too many. I saw too many 20 year olds in high school, and some older than that.

Some kids stay in school until their 20's even though they don't want to learn and fight with teachers, because they don't know what they'll do when they leave!

  • My high school had a whole lotta that when I was a freshmen.

  • a girl named Lillian Vu did the very same thing in Moreno Valley two years ago

  • simply inspiring!!

there is nothing better than an individual speaking the truth !!

love this movie to bits ..!!

  • Ms. Barrett is such a loudmouth!

  • i love this movie one of the greatest ive seen ,timeless ,i could ilsten to morgan freeman give a speach any time

  • amen bro amem

  • WE NEED MORE LIKE JOE!!!!!! Thank GOD for MEN like JOE CLARK. Men with BACKBONE. MEN with VISION.MEN with CHARACTER!!!

  • Please post the scene where Mr. Clark fires Mrs. Elliott, the music teacher.

  • Unjustly fired I might add.

  • What do you mean! SHE HAD AN EGO PROBLEM!

  • @emich28 Clark was a total psycho who had to qualms about ruining the lives of anyone who stood in his way!

  • you might be right. But he had the balls to do what other people didn't want or care to do.

"He didn't say, 'Joe, be polite'!"

  • @scootigger Yes, BUT he kinda contradicted himself in the film. In the beginning he said "Take down those cages in the cafateria. If you put up bars they'll think they're animals" What do you call chaining the doors? It might keep bad influences out, but you're locking the kids in school like animals. It's only going to get worse in today's soceity. Schools and the cops are nothing but bullying institutions that could care less about harming anyone who will cross their path.

  • Go Crazy Joe!

  • -ROTTEN 2 THE CORE!!!-

  • And that's why I threw those bastards out......and that's ALLLLLL I'm going to say!!!! LOL great movie.

  • ...and funniest!

  • One of the greatest diatribes in the history of cinema!!!

  • JOE YOU NO DAMN GOOD LOL!!!!

  • XD

"And that's why I threw those bastards out! And that's all I gonna say!"

  • I don't mean no harm, but he told the truth about some of our parents.

  • What happened this morning is an outrage. (You damn right!)
