  • Really great video. I was wondering if you have any experience using the MIDI port for recording purposes?

  • Which kit do u play on1:44?Does DTX500 contain any African/Asian/Indian Percussion kits?BTW,U play good!

  • @macgyver985 hi,

yes dtx has african perc. named "afro kit, and asian perc. named "asian gypsy" and "matsuri kit". there is no indian kit but maybe contains some indian voices in instruments I'm not sure. other perc. kits' names are: brasil kit, perc. kit, social cuban kit, latin club kit.

  • @macgyver985 I mean yamaha dtx 500 module

  • @apartmentdrummer you told that you played in factory settings. and it sounds very well. when I play with factory settings my toms are too loudly. snare's volume is not high enough. hihat volume is not enough. what's wrong? I listen with a earphone when playing. is it bacuse of this?

  • hi

thanks for this great vid. I played roland td4k2 and yamaha dtx520k in music store(than bought yamaha)

roland: mesh head snare and kick pads are very good. but cymbals are not. pad's sensitivities are better than yamaha

yamaha: cymbals are excellent they are 3 zone. module has more futures than roland, all triger inputs are dual layer that means you can use two different voice in one pad or connect two pads in one triger input.kit samples are more realistic. snare rebounds are better, etc.

  • I really liked your video! I would be good if everyone who bought a kit had made a video like this showing the stock sounds!

Make some drumcovers later if you can, man!

    Thanks!

  • Excellent video I wish more people made videos showing off the presets.

  • good video, how do the pads feel on this kit and are they noisy?

  • @lilbeatboi cheers! the cymbal pads feel great - especially the hi-hat. The DTX snare pad is pretty cool, although I do prefer mesh heads myself. The 10 inch tom pads (standard single zone pads) are pretty much just like practice pads. The noise isn't too bad, although perhaps a little louder than mesh heads. The cymbal pads are excellent!

  • you should do a demo of the drum corps and dubstep presets, as well as some others, Im really wondering what they sound like :3

  • @fasionroadkill unfortunately, I not longer have the kit set up - I've parted it out and have parts of it (rack, cymbals etc) on my DIY kit. I'll try and put together another video of the sounds of DrumCorps and some of the other presets using a KorgPadKontrol to trigger for you though.

  • Im choosing between the DTX520 and Roland's TD4K2. Any thoughts? on the sound/feel?

    Thanks :)

Great video btw, only one I could find with a good demo of the sounds

  • @fasionroadkill Personally, I think the Yamaha module has the better sounds over the Roland, however the Roland pads are a little nicer than what you'd get on the DTX520. I'd say give both a play in your local music stores if you can, and decide from there. My preference would be the Yamaha although I'm a little biassed :)
