  • O, mr. hendrix, where hast thy weary soul wander'd upon?...fad'd from frail moments of time, disappear'd from the illusion of existence...

  • Our best years here with this song . Since we've lost some friends along the road ... they were living too fast, like Jimi sure ... so long Phil, Chris, René, Jack, we still think of you . Peace and take care of you my friends !

  • the small mistakes or imperfections let you know that it's all real.

  • I HAVE A COMPLETE STUDIO RECODING & ITS ONE OF HIS BEST_it very cold Spacy"

  • The chord progression on this song along with the hammers on Hendrix did on this song seem to come from the other dimension, You can wait 1000 years but you will never hear another musician with the same gift as this guy, It is a crying shame he died sooooooooo young, Imagine the year 2012 with a 69 y.o. Hendrix Playing blues and producing music.......

  • @IZQ2012 The face of Music would be completely different than it is now...

  • I am 49 and didn't know that much about Jimi. Thanks for educating me. I am totally loving this.

  • The length of this is pretty lame considering the LP is six minute and seven seconds long.

  • JIMI is all i need

  • Was/is there a version of Red House from this concert available on YouTube?

  • i can't imagine the music being created in heaven, they probs have a room just for the 27 people.....unless they all cancel each other out and its shit haha

  • Nothing can beat the moment i first heard this, by now i know the song. But when i was unfamiliar with Hendrix and i saw this clip...pure magic, incredible notes, he grabbed me by my hand and took me on his journey...to the outskirts of infinity...and beyond

  • Beautiful.

  • uuuuuuuuuuuffffffff..........the master of guitar.......yeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh......

  • Don''t ever play your Favorite musix with a GF who would possible cheat on you..the music will remind you of her and fuck a nice Album for you.

  • @Wazztheweasel music is more important than women, you'll get over the girl after some time. Music is with you till the very last moment cuz it becomes a part of you. At least for some people.

  • @0live0wire0 you are so right!

  • beautiful.....tearfully beautiful ... what was he ? & what spiritual power can make a man so magical ?

  • @neonbassman Belief

  • in heaven jimi is in charge of the music

  • When will there be another god? Why was he so perfect for only a short time?

Maybe it's because we could understand more than he gave us.

Thank you Mr. Hendrix. Thank you.

  • BEEUTEEFULL!!!

  • the whole song is so much better

  • noise at 0:20.. it

  • I remember someone uploaded this ages ago and it got banned, and now ive found it again, thank you <3

  • Legend!!!!

  • Wild Blue Angel, fly on you bad brotha.

  • It's videos like these that make this man the greatest guitar player of all time. Nothing will ever amount to this.

  • Is he using Natural Minor scale or something different?

  • This is lovely, but i would of loved it if he had did the extended guitar solo on this track that he did live at maui.

  • A true genius at work!

  • Jimi Marshall Hendrix (1942-1970) R.I.P

The Best Teacher in the whole world.

  • 3 people probably have really bad problems pooping

  • I can only imagine how great this was live, everyone i know who was there either dont remember squat or rave for hours about it.

The BCT Auditorium there has god like acoustics. Seen Tool and King Crimson play there once. Best sounding show i have ever been to.

  • awesome song

  • 2today we lost jimi

  • notes from the almighty

  • Spirit strings still calling, babe I'd come along...

it'd have been enchanting see where he'd have gone with this

  • Please somebody tell me what kind effects he uses in this version? It sounds beautiful

  • @TrendyhendyPD

srv was more than a guitarist, he was a great entertainer, musician, AND guitarist.

jimi's the man, but why put down one of the best?

    someone's gotta carry the torch...that's a part of what makes music awesome;

    it builds on it'self.

jimi influenced SRV a lot, no doubt.

but jimi had his influences, too...

the chain of musical realness and truth, were all just a link.

but it's a good chain, none the less..

  • Jimi played soooooooooo Smoooooooth...!

    Great Video...!

  • This is so good....so real...soulfull...

  • I love how he can play aggressive and then very soft. The best ever

  • More than 40 years later, still talkin'n bout' you, Jimi ... awesome years you lived man !

  • @TrendyhendyPD I agree, Jimi was the innovator and had an artistic vision SRV was good, very good at his thing. But Jimi' legend lives on for numerous reasons.

  • why dislike this? why? that's just messed up.

  • se n'est plus de la musique ,c'est de l'art a l'état pur !!!

  • @moumoulouche Indeed. Jimi was an artist.

  • @moumoulouche Depuis quand la musique n'est pas de l'art ?

  • I have the full audio for this live version of this track but I don't have the video, I'll upload soon, it's shit when it's cut short

  • THey cut the song short on this tape

  • this was all from his mind...>.< i feel stupid now

  • ROCK N ROLL !!!!

  • where the hell is the full version ?:O!

  • @hendrix7755

He never finished the song that show. I have the concert dvd at home, and I got the feeling Jimi really couldn't be bothered that night, just wanted to get it over with.

  • @ocarina2boy no i saw it man but it was like 4 mins long insted of a 7 min jam

  • @ocarina2boy Man, they cut up all the songs on the DVD. Do yourself a favour, buy the CD with the entire concert.

  • @12thfloorelevator

Awww really? Why would they cut it up? Are they fucken retarded?

  • @ocarina2boy No, they probably did it to make it more commercial.

  • @elusivescousegit You completely missed his point, just because your little brother could play them does`nt mean they were`nt the beholder. Peace,Love,Happiness and all that other good shit.

  • i really wish i could've seen him play, only the good die young..

  • BILLY COX (BASS-PLAYER) ADDED A MORE URBAN Sound, funkyer bass line

that changed Jimi's sound-noel redding was kool to but was more of a straight -rock ,blues player

  • i met billy cox, second greatest man in the world,! (next to hendrix)

  • he looks like a god in this costume

  • Best version of Hey baby IF somebody uploads the whole fucking tune... why cutting parts out man????

  • @Dinscripter

I bought the DVD that had this concert on it, (Berkeley Community Theatre May 30, 1970) and this is the whole song. He doesn't finish it he immediately launches into Lover Man.

  • @ocarina2boy

No way, the end is like it is, but parts are cut out... I know this version very well and believe me, it's just not complete as the complete version has two sung parts with a beautiful solo in between and takes appr. 4.58 minutes

  • @Dinscripter

Know where I could find the complete version?

  • Phenomenal playing and performing! It is playing and performing like this which convince guitarists that Jimi Hendrix was unique and astonishing and arguably the best.

  • Without the D major cord it would just have been All Along The Watchtower but with the D major cord it's Hey Baby.

  • @ThePinkFloydPig So every song that used the 1 5 4 progression is actually the same song ? There is more to it than that.

  • Comment removed

  • By far This Is greeat!!!

  • This litterally gives me chills whenever I listen to it. Long live Hendrix!

  • It just stopped at the solo!!

  • I played this song many years ago ... but nobody plays like he do ......

  • When he starts the rhythm off around 0:20 I just get excited! Its similar in a way to all along the watchtower, but more laid back, groovy, and jazzy...much more chill, but just as much of a masterpiece

  • @pieterklaaskrugmann its jimi

  • @pieterklaaskrugmann Whoever edited the movie cut it... (not GuitarDistribution, i know because i have this film of him at Berkeley too and it's also cut).

  • He didn't play the guitar, he played MUSIC

  • @PrettyLittlePetShop YEAH THATS THE KICKER! im happy that someone understand that :D

  • wow, he is still a God. Perfect music, and others say there is no perfect things in this world, just look at this

  • Dieu était peut être noir ....

  • that song its amazing

  • @HarlanFranzen91069 or buy it ?

  • hero

  • I hear rush zep detroit rockets all little parts listen at:45 sounds like the minor scale? lead in stairway to heaven

each time I listen I go WOW this guy was way past anyone no wonder someone killed him

  • This song is extraordinary & supernatural,...every note, nuance conveys feeling more than words can express. Truly a rare gem amongst the gazillion views on youtube. This shows what every guitar player must strive for instead of the 1000/second mentality. Jimi easily demonstrates here that one perfectly played note can express more than a thousand speed picked legato licks. The dynamics used cover a wide range from gentle strums to hard chordal attacks. Genius !

  • this is how u know a song on youtube is good. if it has under lets say 2 million views. its good stuff. anything over is just complete shit new music is just some random stuff thrown together to get a big ass paycheck

  • @highlanddan lol strange way of determination of good music on youtube , but i think i know what you mean , there are lots of great songs and acts with over 2 million views , as i say i think i know what you mean though ;)

  • @highlanddan i agree contempory stuff is umbelievbly shit and jimi's music was just masterfull he is the god of guitar and he was also a ledgendary musician/songwriter

  • The song bleeds of so much emotion and feeling, every nuance Jimi makes on the guitar is extraordinary.

  • @SxeanLeeDavidz shhh...

  • is it just me or does anyBody else think that in every version the end of the song is always epic.? or does anyBody think that angel and this song were the first and only two songs of a completely undiscovered and unclassifiable kinda music that only Jimi can make.?

  • @PoorPoorComputer00 Does anybody notice that just about everything Hendrix does is epic? ;)

  • @ZeppelinFan6980 haahaa sweet.

  • 0:33 is just the most beautiful collection of notes i could hope to hear

  • @docksidebum thats not a collection of notes - its a CHOOOON! :)

  • @docksidebum spot on

  • @docksidebum its amazing

  • @docksidebum ok... lets not go crazy here. when michael jordan misses a shot its not the most beautiful thing that ever happened. hes still michael jordan yes, but lets not romanticize 0.33 as being the most beautiful collection of notes one could (hope?) to hear..my little brother can play that. Everyone knows that jimi hendrix is one of the all time greats. there is no reward for making a statement like that. unless you simply were looking for a top comment on a jimi video. then youve succeded

  • @CatchHellBlues16

Could your little brother make that up on the spot infront of thousands of people?

  • @fenderstrat235 0:33.....Sure. Most guitarists can improvise at that level. I think jimi himself would laugh really hard knowing that some people think that some of his improvs such as 0:33 are amazing. i can understand someone who doesnt play may not understand how simple it is for a decent guitarist to bridge his rhythms. I think jimi would be embarrassed if he were alive and someone told him that 0:33 the was the most beautiful collection of notes one could hope to hear.

  • @CatchHellBlues16 my friend, you are probably a young fellow who plays guitar and admires the extreme playing styles but believe me Iam playing guitar more than 15years and 0:33... it's just pure beauty. Yeah it's easy to play and improvise etc. but its harmony with the song is amazing. Do not forget that the feeling, which is the basic core of Jimi's playing style, comes before the technic. If you dont thinks so, then take a good look rolling stones guitarists list.

  • @huschow I am a fellow guitarista. I Know the rolling stone top 100 list through and through, and i am actually writing this response while sitting under a Hendrix poster that i had framed in my computer room. My comment about 0:33 was simply a thought out loud about how because of his excellence, creativity, and technique he has the ability posthumously to play simple licks that otherwise may not be noteworthy by another guitarist. Hendrix is my all time favorite. 0:33 is fun, nothing more.

  • @CatchHellBlues16 You don't know what you are saying and you are obviously not a guitar player.

  • @docksidebum I agree, the most beautiful collection of notes ever coming from the greatest guitar player in the history of music.

  • This fucking song moves me utterly..... RIP Jimi

  • LOVE!

  • love the intro, amazing

  • in my opinion the best performance of hey baby is live at Maui... the preface is amazing

  • @guerrero89holy

  • Such beauty. Sadness, maybe, but thats okay. All will be well.
