If I had been there I would have been saying, "Uuh....... Can we get out of this parking garage now? Cuz I'm so fuckin scared I'm gonna shit my pants!!"
we had a storm like this in melbourne (au) not as much lightning but the winds were like 120km/h and there was very large hail (size of tennis balls in some areas)
thats whats up good footage. If u wanna see some lightning dancing, Come up to Tampa. You know we known for being the Lightning capital of the State of FL
we get these in texas probly once or twice a month. i just had one recently and there were some possible tornadoes. in texas, your closet is your best friend!
I live in Thailand and we get crazy lightning like this too, especially in september-- the storms come every couple hours and I've watched lightning hit the same power poles and buildings over and over again-- it's freaky!
I've been through a few of those Miami- Dade county storms in the spring and summer. They always come in so dark. You practically have to live inside due to the lightning frequency. The downpours from storms like this are some of the most torrential in the US, if not the world.
Yes, Florida storms do often come with torrential rain and lots of lightning. I sure hope there are more storms like this this coming spring, although I get the feeling a storm like this happens only once every few years in a specific location in Dade county.
Awesome footage! Great quality! I would love to have storms out here like that! We occasionally will get wind gusts of 50 to 70 mph... but nothing as beautiful as the storms that you get!
There was very little cloud to ground lightning. Most of it was inside the cloud - so only the flash was visible, not the actual bolt. But still I'm not totally sure why there were only a few loud crashes of thunder instead of thousands.
"i hate myself for a few days after i hear my voice on camera" ... you have normal voice, you don't have to shame of it. But i have to, because i am from Czech republic ... i can't speak English and when i record my voice on my camera i sound like a gay xD. But you don't so be cool ! Good luck with hunting !
Oh my god I've never seen so much lightning, it was like someone flicking a light on and off!! Luckily I'm in the boring old UK, which doesn't get weather this exciting. You do get very excited don't you?! Ha, it was sweet. Thanks for a great video, take care! x
Awesome lightning for so early in the FLA Tstorm season...and in contrast to what you've said...the quality of this video is VERY GOOD! BTW..BTW..I invite you and other viewers to SEE my own 7/28/89- 6/26/02- and 7/18/06-Tstorm videos...as there was lotsa nice frequent lightning in those.... and some real NICE thunder.. I like your own commentaries... and hope you make lotsa great videos during the real-deal Tstorm season... I love such Tstorm videos, big time!!! ((('5*' on THIS one, BTW)))
I was watching this storm activity on the radar, and thought that maybe some of the storm activity could reach as far as the Florida Keys where Jim Leonard lives. Keep up the good work.
Great video Max. The video shows the intensity of the storm in Dade County, FL. I love continuous lightning. At first glance with the palm trees blowing in the wind and the rain coming down heavy, I mistaking it for a Category 1 Hurricane, but after seeing the date was just April 6, 2008, then I knew it was just a severe storm.
Max. Im sure your glad you moved here from the big Island now. The weather pattern has been a little better than average for this time of year during the last few weeks. You wanted to see lightning hopefully this is just the beginning with regular T-Storm season just a month away we will be seeing this stuff more and more in the weeks ahead.
That storm came from off the central coast of Cuba during the afternoon. It went by my place about sunset with lots of lightning and winds of about 35mph. After it passed me it intensified probably got a little more shear from the SE winds from the southeast coast of the mainland which is not unusual. Mike T. in Homestead said when it passed him it was very impressive.
Love it! Especially when the storm first starts to roll over with near continuous lightning. We had our first thunderstorm of the year here in Shanghai today but was only a few crappy rumble of thunder, nothing compared to that!!
AWESOME Max!!!! Last night's storms were great, and this footage captures it perfectly. I was also shooting (still photos) and got one good shot of a bolt over downtown Miami.
If I had been there I would have been saying, "Uuh....... Can we get out of this parking garage now? Cuz I'm so fuckin scared I'm gonna shit my pants!!"

@CyrusNixes is it because miami is by the beach and beside NA ocean??
hAhan17 2 years ago
@hAhan17 is what because it's by the ocean? if you mean is that why it's warm in early April, and most days of the year in Miami, then yes.

How come do we see lightning but not thunder after that? We hear it sometimes in the video... is it because of the cloud to cloud??
