When he says "Mighty Mezz", he's referring to a strain of weed popular with Harlem jazz musicians of the time. A musician named Milton Mezzrow lived in Harlem and was well known for selling Mexican weed, stronger than what people were used to at the time. They called it "Mezz".

So, it's basically like early '90s rappers referring to "Indo".
