  • do u recomend this phone, bcuz im coming from tmobile with a samsung behold and im thinking about this phone?

  • nigggas

  • To all who have been stupid ass whores and cussed me out for saying it doesn't require a $30 dollar plan. I GET IT! I was misinformed at the time. sheesh

  • how can you get music from say your itunes onto your phone? i just bought this and after plugging it into my computer it asks for a disk which it did not come with, i was wondering how i would do this

  • does this phone have T9 because it always gives me a hard time txting and is it good for fast txting

  • @twistcrewNVG no it has full qwerty keyboard just like a computer

  • yes it do have t9 just go to setting just as well as a full qwerty keyboard

  • yeah press like the little gear type thing at the bottom of the normal keypad holding the phone the tall way

  • lol no need the keyboard is qwerty both ways it does have predicitive text

  • i am trying to choose choose between the droid and the droid eris price dosent matter which should i choose

  • does the HTC Droid Eris have the ustram app

  • question is the motorola one the same or is it different.

  • this is a quick ?. if you take a picture with the phone, can you set it as the backround?

  • yes

  • @CellPhoneTrek so you can set it as the wall paper?

  • from everything that I remember you should be able to.

  • word...

  • does anybody know if u HAVE to buy internet with this phone plz answere asap

  • @Headsh0t010 u do

  • ok bc i been hearing its like 50 bucks a month

  • yes, verizon requires you to have the unlimited data plan for any of their smartphones. the plan is 30 dollars a month.

  • You need a data plan for this phone. For verizon it will be the palm data plan costing $30 a month. This is a required fee, and you also need a gmail account

  • if you dont have internet on these kinds of phones theres no point in having one .

  • Yes, the $30 data plan is required

  • You do. It's like 30 bucks a month and required.

  • I have the Moto Droid and i love it!!! This is a nice phone too!

  • I got this phone and I love it. It's my first smartphone but I learned the ropes pretty quick. I don't miss having a physical keyboard at all.

  • You just told me what I had already known. I was just stating how pissed it makes me that people tell others that you NEED a blackberry plan. thats all...

  • I just got this phone, and it is the coolest thing ever!!! it is such a nice phone, and the battery life is great and a few simple tricks. I love it, i would recommend this phone to everyone.

  • Im getting this phone tommorrow!!! = )

  • I know it would be the practical and smart thing to do, but I'm tired of people saying you HAVE to get a data plan...that's all. Great review by the way!

  • i tried to do that today, i was hoping i could just get my data through wifi. They make you get the 30$ plan.

  • why does everybody say that!? you don't need the 30$ blackberry plan! you just need any standard plan of your choice!

  • it might not be required however as the phone is so data heavy it would be a mistake and travesty to corral the phone into such a limited corner.

  • you dont need a blackberry plan there is a difference and the only difference between a data plan and a normal plan is internet and more access and about ten dollars...a blackberry plan is about fifty dollars more then a regular plan and no you cant have a standard plan because then you have to delete just about everything about that fone...

  • @smarttechmouse u have to have the $30 plan DUMBASS

  • @smarttechmouse no all the new smart fones @ verizon require a 30 dollar plan at least.. just sayin

  • i can get the droid but i think im going to get this one its smaller better looking and everything plus i like htc more then motorolla

  • Is the Hello Aim similar to the blackberry messanger that PIN or w.e they have to only chat among people with Blackberrys?

  • it does need the data plan, and it will cost an extra $30 a month since its an android phone. i got the droid and my sister got the touch pro 2 so we had to turn off our home phone, we didn't use it anyway :)

  • hey i have a question, is there an application for AIM? can you download it from the market?

  • @anyonebutyouNjersey there are a multitude of android messaging applications, but one in partcullar is Hello Aim. It seems to be our favorite for AIM exclusive messaging. Hope this helps!

  • thanks i appreciate it!

  • Nice phone. I'm hopeing to get one soon.

Quick question, though: You said it will get an update to 2.0 in early 2010. Does this mean you can update it if you already have the phone, or would you have to buy a 2.0 version phone?

  • The phone will just need a software patch thats it. all reports as of now show it being just a simple patch, no fees. However i do not see the carriers or htc, upgrading the eris after the patch is available.

  • cell phone trek, your intro is mindblowing, i cant handle it

  • I agree thatsnothawtxD, the Motorola DROID is wayyy too bulky and heavy. The HTC DROID Eris is thin, pocketable, and has great features. I can't wait to get it this weekend!

  • I cannot wait for this phone. I am happy that it comes with a USB cable so i can put my music on it. Good thing i DO have an internet plan. I saw the Droid in BestBuy. It isnt appealing to me. I am just in love with the HTC Droid Eris. :)

  • do u need an internet plan for this phone

  • yes

  • do you need to buy the 30 dollar a month data plan thing like a blackberry or can u just use a standard data plans?

  • Im pretty sure Blackberrys arent aimed towards teenagers, but ok.

  • I'd like to thank all the teenagers who gave me a thumbs down.

And, I really should have said SLIDING KEYBOARDS.

  • how much

  • @masterman ...i agree with you on the teenyboppers part....i read on one of the forum (engadget or gizmodo..i forget which one) that motorola actually gave the droid to tmobile first to try out and play with for a few months, but they choose to go with the cliq instead...how stupid is that?!!!

  • The Cliq is proof that T-Mobile only cares about teenyboppers (the Sidekick's demographic). I can't understand who would buy a $199 Cliq to use on T-Mobile's network. For the same price, they could get a 16GB iPhone 3GS or a Droid with "the Network". T-Mobile's new prices aren't really any cheaper than the competition like they used to be. T-Mobile now requires a $30 plan..same as ATT and Verizon. With a low-end Cliq at $199, why would a new customer go with them?

  • cool phone....im a tmobile subscriber and feel really cheated right now...how come verizon got the droid? and we got stuck with the cliq?

  • cause tmobile sucks balls

  • @iamaflyingsquirrel you suck balls

  • @groompykon25 i green with iamalyngsquirrel

  • @iamaflyingsquirrel

I know right? I had T-mobile prepaid phone one time and it doesn't pick up signals everywhere, but it will pick up in some other locations I've been before. That's why I'm not with them no more. T-mobile is just terrible!

  • lol...that's so true....motorola gave the droid to verizon and the cliq to tmobile....lol...i'm sorry, i'm not making fun of u, i'm just saying that tmobile sucks and motorola knows that...that's why they gave the droid to verizon

  • Great review! Keep up the good work!
