I really like the music, but I wish the female had more going on than just background noise.

And the lyrics make the song too, having just good sound but shitty boring lyrics kills the point of the song. It has to have emotion and message, so both things are important.

The damn album is about the Live of Galileo Galilei (except some songs like Herr Mannelig)

and this song is the intro to the story. It it recalls the execution of Giordano Bruno by burning him on a wooden stacke. They made a great party of executions of heretics in the former times (no TV). The song depicts it perfectly.

Galileo often remembered what happened to Giordano Bruno, during his work.
