  • Amazing song, she should re-release it so that younger audience can experience real music.

  • OMG I was 18 years old and in love. 59 now, and still get chills from her voice

  • As a young singer, Roberta Flack was a major influence. This song is hauntingly beautiful. The arrangement is beautiful as well.

  • Beautiful arrangement... You can truly get lost in this song!

  • Man you just don't know. The lady sings a love song that will place tears running down your face. The is music, this is singing, this is a song that tells a story.

  • Heavenly and healing.

  • Listen to this then listen to Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix...Not an exact sample but sure sounds similar...anyway both are great songs!!

  • what you know about that?

  • This song was one of my faves when I was just a little boy. I was surprised to hear it in a popular rap record that even the radio DJs (FLEX) didn't know or were lying about. lol lol lol lol lol........... and knew it right off.

  • Wow!!! I'm hearing this for the first time in over %_*? years. First time while serving in Vietnam... this was played every night until it wore out. The entire album was a cherished 'find'. Have loved her ever since.

  • @rhythmnsoulsymphony Um.... what was the amount of years again...?

  • my ears orgasmed for the last minute of this.

  • @yetanothergrunt u jizzed outta your ears? ewwwww...

  • This song was written and originally performed by Curtis Mayfield; but the Atlantic arrangement and Flack's vocals totally transformed this song. My mom had this LP when I was a child but It was as a B-side of "You've got a friend" the following year where I really got into this timeless classic.

  • thanks for the post, the cassette and lp are not cuttin it!! great song!!! jray

  • This is an all time favorite .... thank you for posting it .

  • The end of this song is ONE of the THREE FUNKIEST soul bridges or breaks I've EVER HEARD in history!

  • @navyman4 the other two being?

  • @StephenHazeltine

The VERY FUNKIEST soul funk ...anything... is actually the whole Ohio Players song Ecstasy

The second FUNKIEST thing I've heard is "GET UP OFF YOUR FAT" by rose royce (after the circus music part).

Then comes the end of this song.
