@RavenousSky I see what you're doing. You're trying to equate the hysteria that once surrounded marijuana use with the hysteria that you think is being projected onto porn use. Well, here's the difference: internet porn actually IS insanely addictive. Been there, done that. Glad I recovered. Don't come on here with your pseudo-intellectual holier than thou mindset and belittle the ones that are trying to help those that started using porn "in moderation".
@DrtyLittleRockStar Risky? If you mean is there a risk for addiction, the answer is of course. The video and the website are called your brain on porn, not your brain on orgasm/masturbation. There's virtually no mention of masturbation in either video series. The video is all about Internet porn...and nothing else.
I don't get I watch porn and I could go days, or months without sex or porn and I don't think I'm addicted... Yet i still do suffer from anxiety and depression.
I don't have a problem with ED. I can still cum to normal vanilla sex porn. I can go days without watching porn of having the need to masturbate. I don't watch porn during the day as a rule. If i be honest with myself before porn i was fine but i was 12. I have been watching porn for so long i have never thought it could have been the reason for my anxiety or depression problems. Could i be addicted or have a problem without knowing? I would like to get started but the site has been down. Info?
@RavenousSky Not everything is equally addicting. Driving? Never heard of that. Alcohol: small percentage. Junk food: 80% of adult Americans are overweight, 30-35% obese - that is addicted. Supernormal vesions of natural rewards have the ability to addict a far greater percentage than do drugs/alcohol. Moderation may not apply to a 12 year old boy using high-speed, free, 24-7, endlessly novel, hard-core Internet porn. This ain't your daddy's Playboy
There is no such thing as "pornography addiction". That is a pseudo-medical term used primarily by organized religion to scare and worry people over something completely natural; and then sell them a self-help book or seminar on how to "beat it", errr I mean overcome it.
@gsschoenfeld The American Society of Addiction Medicine released their new definition of addiction, which stated the sexual-behavior addiction exists. This organization contains 3,000 MDs and the top addcition neurobiologists in the world. Google: "Toss Your Textbooks: Docs Redefine Sexual Behavior Addictions".
So when did it become "natural" to watch high-speed, multiple window, hard-core for hours a day, starting around age 10?. What hunter-gather tribe was that again?
@BodyWisdomVideos By doing that they are admitting to "redefining" the classical definition of addiction. It's not a matter of what is and is not natural, it simply what words appear in a dictionary. If addiction is streaming hard-core porn for 10 hours a day, then of course that is a problem, but I suspect it's more complicated than just porn. My objection is that elements of organized religion will speak as if someone is an addict without ever making a clinical diagnosis.
@gsschoenfeld It's NOT the amount of porn one watches, it's specific alterations in the brain that establish addiction (read the article?). Brain changes include hypofrontality, sensitization, and desensitization. ASAM stated these "brain changes reflect a specific set of signs and symptoms" (in my video). That's clinical diagnosis. Research confirms both behavioral & drug addictions involve the same brain changes. Could you stick to science and save religion for some other video?
@BodyWisdomVideos Don't worry I can read just fine. "The new ASAM definition makes a departure from equating addiction with just substance dependence, "
That is a wholesale revision of the "science" of addiction. The DSM manual does not support this. All that is happening is a semantic change to the language. It justifies lots of billing opportunity but no real treatment. That only helps the ASAM members broaden their relevance. The ASAM will eventually retract this.
@gsschoenfeld The DSM is a political organization 20 years behind the times. The DSM once listed homosexuality as a psychiatric condition, and is now proposing medicating 2 year olds for ADHD. That said, the new DSM will recategorize pathological gambling as an addiction. ASAM neurobiologists are the THE SOURCE for addiction research, not the DSM. ASAM will not retract anything as all research points in only one direction: all addictions involve the same mechanisms & brain changes.
@gsschoenfeld (cont) New research shows that all addictions are initiated by the same molecular switch- DeltaFosb. This brain molecule causes addiction related changes, whether it's food, drug, or sex addiction. The evolutionary purpose of DeltaFosb is to encourage binging (food and mating season). Really get that drugs hijack a mechanism in place to "get it while the getting is good" for food and sex. Overconsumption leads to high levels of DeltaFosb and brain changes.
@gsschoenfeld New studies (since my video was made) have established that Internet Addiction causes all the brain changes seen in drug adicts: hypofrontality, sensitization, desensitization, and disorganized myelin. Go to YBOP and Google - Internet Addiction Studies: Summaries.
SO: All clinical evidence; addiction neuroscience; recent brain studies on Internet addicts; self-reports from addicts - point in only one direction: Addiction.
@BodyWisdomVideos Hey, i need some advice please. My goal is to reboot for at least 2 month but here is the problem: Since my escalation lead me to start getting off only to foot fetish videos, there is going to be a big problem because we are entering the summer and everyone will start to show their feet. What's your take on how i can handle that problem? Please tell me how i can get around.
@xXdeathimpactXx Maybe seeing real feet will be just fine. Every guy who gets hooked on porn see's real girls and their parts. The problem isn't the real deal, it's watching videos and being a passive observer. Just see what happens.
@BodyWisdomVideos But honestly the reason why i'm rebooting is to stop the whole "feet" thing.. I fell like it escalated and i feel like it's not normal that's just something that i know because it becomes so shocking..
@BodyWisdomVideos Hey i had a question. I had a wet dream but basically i don't think that came i just had like an orgasm. I wanted to know is it possible to actually grab your penis and jerk it off during your sleep? Did i choose to do that or was it uncontrolable? And how come i felt worried in my dream when i orgasmed?
@BodyWisdomVideos What's up with the new articles on your website having pictures of feet... Aren't you aware that people are trying to stay away from that including me? smh..
@xXdeathimpactXx My wife does the pictures. She just changed one of them for you. We use the feet pics to represent couples making love. You know - a guy getting his mojo back. It's hard to find pictures that don't trigger someone......lots of fetishes out there these days.
@BodyWisdomVideos Hey Gary, look i'm not going to start up another 10 message combo to you, but i need to get something straight.. Basically here i have realized that what i jack off too is two things: Normal sex and then Abnormal sex. The abnormal sex is the foot fetish videos that i told you about. Basically i can tell that these videos are abnormal because i can tell that. Do you think in my reboot i should eliminate both kinds of fantasies or keep the normal ones?
I like porn but nothing beats the real thing. I don't understand how someone needs porn that is more and more risky? I like simple porn where both people are actually enjoying the sex. I also noticed that I try and find porn where the woman looks sort of like the girl I like at that moment. I never watched ebony porn until I liked a black girl.
i first got the internet when i was 17, id never seen porn before, im now 29 and have hardly left the house because of porn, i quit college, lost relationships over watching porn, i dunno how to get over it. before i got the internet i was a happy guy into sports, dating, working etc.
if you replaced porn with sexing the actual porn stars at the same frequency, wouldn't it have the same effects/symptoms? It seems pretty impossible that your dopamine receptors would know the difference.
@ListActivist No. Read "porn, then and now: welcome to brain training" on YBOP. Sex with one person cannot match Internet porn: ability to click to what is most exciting, fast-forwarding, multiple tabs, endless genres, escalation to shocking/surprising, and 300 vaginas, 600 boobs, and moans of exctasy - all in one session. Plus, you train your brain to need intense visual stimulation and you become a voyeur rather than a participant. Oh yeah – death grip or speed fapping.
@BodyWisdomVideos I disagree sex with a real person is way better than porn. That would be like saying playing tiger woods golf on Playstation is more stimulating than playing real life on a public course because you can play any course you want on the game.
@pmk422 That's my experience too. But it's not the experience of those addicted to Internet porn. The video series is for those individuals. Many young men cannot achieve erections with real women, yet can with porn.
I don't get excited thinking about cocaine or cigarettes Does that mean that cocaine and cigarette addictions do not exist?
Our experience is irrelevant to others experience.
PS - many people who play video games find gaming more exciting than real golf.
@BodyWisdomVideos Another important comparison between video game golf and real golf is that it requires far less effort to play video games, and its much more difficult to get good at real golf. Just as its easier to watch porn then find a women, takes no skill to watch porn, and there is no risk (of rejection) with porn. Its actually a very interesting comparison when you stop to think about it.
@BodyWisdomVideos Yesterday i was day 4 with no PMO but i almost relapsed when i went on facebook to see a picture of a girl but that was the only thing. Today it's day 5, do you think when i did that it was considered as a relapse? I didnt masturbate or anything but almost got a boner because of the thought of me relapsing.
@xXdeathimpactXx The word relapse can only be used for drugs, not this. See this FAQ: What stimuli must I avoid during my reboot (did I relapse)? on YBOP.
If you are surfing for pictures of girls, you are mimiking your addiction. It's not nudity or content, its the constant need for novelty that is the addiction.
@BodyWisdomVideos I was surfing for just 1 picture which was just a picture of a girl and nothing else. Usualy its this girl and her feet that my brain wanted but i just saw a picture of just her, but i didnt masturbate or anything. I feel like i gave up is that the right feeling or what? Please tell me because if you tell me that i gave up i might as well masturbate
@xXdeathimpactXx Tell you what? I'm not sure waht you are asking, but here's my advice. Relax. Stop overthinking, and don't view "porn addiction" or "porn recovery" as black & white. It's not a drug.
This about retraining your brain to what is real by avoiding waht is fake - a screen.
Your black & white, all or none thinking is counterproductive: "if you tell me that i gave up i might as well masturbate" .
@BodyWisdomVideos You don't understand.. Everytime i do this i fail fail fail over and over. This is become very stressful i feel like i cant accomplish my goal. I just relapsed and i spent 5 hours trying not to but i ended up relapsing, i fucking hate this shit.
@xXdeathimpactXx I'm not sure what your goal is, but if you are trying to abstain from masturbation too, it may be a mistake. Just avoid porn and porn like behaviors.
@BodyWisdomVideos So you're saying that when i masturbate don't think about anything? If i masturbate, i only want to masturbate to act on these thoughts.. Some of the thoughts are about real people.
@xXdeathimpactXx Guys with OCD-like qualities may have too much anxiety to stop masturbating cold turkey as they reboot from porn. You may be in that category. So yes, you could try masturbation with no thoughts - only sensation.
@xXdeathimpactXx Men with HOCD were always attracted to females, startedwith porn involving females. Over the years their addiction desensitized their brains leading the need for more intense porn. Eventually they got hooked on gay/transexual porn. It's what excites them but they are straight. Stopping porn can reverse this, but it's difficult. Porn may have nothing to do with your foot fetish. You may continue to like feet after you give up porn. One way to find out.
@xXdeathimpactXx That's the whole point of this. Is there a difference between playing NBA 2012 Xbox and playing basketball? Is there a difference between actually killing someone and playing a video game? Clicking from pic to pic, fast-forwarding to your favorite scenes, multiple tabs, and watching = preparation for watching porn - not sex with a real person. Imagination is all we ever had until a few decades ago.
@xXdeathimpactXx don't know your situation or goals. Maybe just quitting porn is enough. Either way I am not willing to hand out personalized masturbation advice. Read the rebooting accounts and follow the advice that feels right for you.
I suggest you look at this page - it might help to explain why you are so anxious. "Schwartz Technique for Rewiring Compulsions".
@xXdeathimpactXx I have been doing a good job blocking and and denying any sexual fantasy from entering my mind, but the problem is because i used to be obsessed with foot fetish videos, i feel scared to look at my feet.. What do you think about this, i feel scared because it might remind me of the vids then i might get aroused.. Do you think i should ignore that feeling of anxiousness or what?
@xXdeathimpactXx It reminds me of men with HOCD - the fear, the anxiety, the obsession. That's why I suggested this page on YBOP - "Schwartz Technique for Rewiring Compulsions".
@xXdeathimpactXx When people cease using (whatever the addiction) stress hormones usually increase. You cannot control what occurs. Exercise, relaxation techniques, socializing, having fun are the best antidotes.
Man i seriously need help to get off of watching some weird shit. I used to watch normal porn now i watch some weird ass shit that's not even porn it just makes me hard and want to masturbate can you please help me with this???
@xXdeathimpactXx Go to yourbrainonporn for suggestions. Start with "Tools For Change" and "Rebooting" links. You can return your brain to normal sensitvity with abstinence and time.
@BodyWisdomVideos But how come i used to watch normal stuff and then now when i watch it its harder for me to reach orgasm but when i watch the weird stuff i achieve my orgasm way faster?
@xXdeathimpactXx As shown in the video, porn addiction causes a decline in dopamine signaling, which leads to needing more stimulation to get the same high. This is called tolerance, which leads to escalation. Most porn users escalate to new genres because novelty increases dopamine. You reach orgasm faster due to more dopamine, but soon that will wear off.
@BodyWisdomVideos Thanks man really you don't know how much you've helped me with the biggest problem of my life so far that i've been trying to fight off for years.. I watched every single part and will read that site frequently. Thanks again
@BodyWisdomVideos 2 questions please.I fantasize about feet of fat women for example but i would never fantasize of doing the normal things that i would normal things that i would do with a normal woman. I just want to know is this is usual and normal and i want to get rid of it by the rebooting system. Second thing is i wanted to know if wet dreams are considered relapse during reboot please. Thanks for being patient with me.
@xXdeathimpactXx I suggest visiting YBOP as most everything is covered there. It is usual for porn users tastes to change as their brain needs more stimulation. On the site see this FAQ - "Why did my porn use escalate?" See this article - "Can You Trust Your Johnson?", and this - "Porn Then and Now: Welcome to Brain Training".
Relapses are for drugs, not orgasms. See trhis FAQ - "What stimuli must I avoid during my reboot (did I relapse)?". Don't worry about wet dreams.
@BodyWisdomVideos Gary, i'm 16 and i've been using porn material consistently since i was 10 or 11 years old.. Taking a guess, i'll say my average masturbation times a day from then was maybe 2 times a day.. The shocking material came in at 12 but wasn't the only thing i was getting satisfied off (even thought it was easier to get off with). From your perspective, what do you think my rebooting time should be?
@xXdeathimpactXx I cannot predict even if I knew your reasons for quitting. Most guys who reboot, do so because they have porn-induced ED. Do you? If so, see the FAQ on the site. With ED, the men use their erection health as a barometer. IF not, then you have to determine how long you attempt to also eliminate, or drastically reduce masturbation. Rebooting is really about learning what is you and what is porn. There's an FAQ on "how do I know I am back to normal".
@BodyWisdomVideos Ok please answer this for me. What does exactly fantasize mean? I sometimes get strong urge to look at a foot scene i saw a long time ago and i imagine the picture in my head.. Is that fantasizing? And how do i ignore it?
@BodyWisdomVideos Yes i read all of them :D, but isnt touching and all that takes dopamine and rewards the reward circuit or whatever? Anyways, i have found that when i'm happy and less worried, i feel like the happiest person in the world and i feel that i will never ever go back to that stuff! :D Thank you so so much
@xXdeathimpactXx Did you start with the "rebooting tab", at the top of the page? That's where you want to start. It too exlains dopamine. Nothing wrong with activating dopamine and the reward circuit. It happens all day long. Can't avoid it. Would die without it.
@BodyWisdomVideos Yes, but didn't you say that you should not look at anything arousing while you are rebooting? That's exactly what it says on the YBOP. So is it alright to fantasize?
@BodyWisdomVideos Also i read the article "Another way to make love" and i wanted to tell you i get fantasy from this kind that you talked about in this faq.. But its very rare because my mind enjoys the other stuff better.. Is it ok to fantasize about "this way to make love", or do you think i should reboot first?
I can't even get hard without thinking about porn. Even when a girl would strip for me naked I wouldn't get hard... I've been relapsing continuesly and I do not know what to do now.
@Duitslond Nearly every guy relapases - several times. Overcoming an addiction often involves changing many apsects of ones life. Such as -adding meditation, exercise, more socializing, web filter, new activities, receiving support, etc. On yourbrainonporn see the "Tools for Change" tab for many suggestions.
having real sex = getting pregnant with kids, being called a slut/whore, having a real std virus, being blamed for rape from your sex partner more easily (if DNA test is taken)
porn = wasted tissue paper, still considered a slut/whore, paying for more porn & fucked up computer with a virus
its crazy. being addicted to porn is a love-hate relationship. i love watching the women and hearing them moan, but i feel ashamed afterwards. once i ejaculate I feel bad about what i did like a failure. porn is a definite problem. i just know that i am on my way to dealing with it better.
INstead of porn. go workout, run, box. If I took all the times I jerked off and translated it to working out, I would be a UFC fighter by now. Like that 10000hrs to master a task, I could have learned spanish or something, fuck i wasted a lot of time.
You are very great as u hae uploaded this video.I want to share my story.I was not that into pornography before broadband connection came but now i cant really help myself.I try to refrain from it generally 10 days i m without it but then suddenly the thoughts come back and i could resist myself slightly but slowly and slowly even a single trigger set me to do the evil;.How to prepare myself at that period to prevent watching porn.I m 18 years old.I think the smallest help from u can change me
@Everyday008 That's the nature of all addictions. a trigger (or cue) activates what are called "sensitized pathways" leading to cravings. Take the long-term approach. If your relpase just start agin. The more your resist, the weaker the addiction pathways become. See "Tools For Change" on yourbrainonporn for suggestions on overcoming addiction.
@Duitslond Studies that show sex releases more prolactin than masturbation, but that has nothing to do with this video series or porn addiction. Internet porn addiction is more akin to video game addiction. It's the novelty and delivery, along with starting in early adolesence that leads to addiction. Google - "Porn Then and Now: Welcome to Brain Training". One can become addicted without ever masturbating. We know of a few men who rarely masturbated and still developed ED from just watching.
@Duitslond Nearly everyone who is addicted to porn experiences multiple withdrawal symptoms when they stop using porn. Most guys see a lessening of symptoms at about 2-3 weeks. However, recovery can be like riding a roller coaster when it comes to mood swings. See this FAQ on yourbrainonporn: What does withdrawal from porn look like?
@BodyWisdomVideos Sadly, I masturbated the day I wrote that comment - without porn though. That was Thursday, today, Sunday was the day I masturbated WITH porn... I am mostly bored on Sunday, so I guess that's why... I feel really weak and bad about it. What can I do? When I masturbated without porn it took 30 minutes to reach climax while it only took 3 minutes to climax with porn...
@Duitslond Many suggestions are found under "tools For Change" at yourbrainonporn. This is an addiction, so you need to alter behavioral patterns and change aspects of your life.
I quit for over a couple of weeks, then today saw a video for the first time in a while. Would you say it's bad to mas. once every couple of weeks or even every other day or so?
@FearTheReaperMan Most guys have an easier and quicker rebooting if they avoid masturbation. However, It really depends on your condition (ED or not), and whether, masturbation triggers binging on porn. Those with porn-induced ED do much better eliminating masturbation during recovery. Most men with only addiction find that avoiding masturbation allows a complete withdrawal, then a resetting of the brain. Avoiding porn, though is the key, becasue it is the addiction.
@BodyWisdomVideos Yeah, I am 99% sure I don't have ED, but I also have never had sex. No I do not binge on porn, or so more recently. I have been watching porn for about 7 years now and the most I would mas. would probably be 3-4 times a day. That was rare for the majority of the time. I never got into 'weird' porn either, but I have been having a little trouble quitting. I have quit ALOT of bad habits 'cold turkey', and porn though, seems to be the hardest.
@BodyWisdomVideos I don't know if I would be classified as a porn addict though. I read through some of your website, and I match up with some of the 'symptoms'. Would you possibly suggest any advice for quitting?
The advice is to stop porn, porn fantasy, and any behavior that mimics the searching for sexual stimuli, such youtube vids, facebook, etc. It’s the constant need for novelty that drives Internet porn use. Your limbic brain doesn’t know what porn is, it only knows habits (searching) that lead to reward. If you masturbate, try it to sensation only –no fantasy. It trains the brain away from needing visual stimuli. This leads to more excitement with a real life partner.
@FearTheReaperMan that depends. if you're not giving your dopamine d2 receptors an opportunity to come back, you're only longing out your process. that would be like a smoker struggling to not smoke but then giving in after 2 weeks, starting that whole battle over again for another 2 weeks but they're still intoxicating their lungs.
@FearTheReaperMan i'm sure you'll be thinkin "i don't know this guy so why is he lecturing me", but you sound like you really want to make an excuse so that you can watch porn and masturbate. don't. it will harm your recovery in two ways. first it will neurologically slow the return of the d2 receptors and secondly it will make your mind associate an even greater level of release and pleasure if you do, reinforcing the slavery and trap. keep attention in the future and soon you will win.
@danndan6 No, I'm not thinking that :). You can learn something from everything and any given time.. But yeah, I haven't watched porn for over a month. I don't want to watch porn not only for the well being of my self, but because I would be supporting industry that is absolutely terrible. A decent portion of the 'actors' were sexually abused when they were younger or were violently abused. When one watches them one's supporting their drug habits and 'poor' behaviors. Plenty of porn stars
@FearTheReaperMan how do you know you wouldn't be developing any patterns? when i had my first cigarette, joint, burger or jerk i didn't think that any patterns would emerge. we just can't predict these things. my personal advice would be that it's not my say whether or not you jerk but 1 month seems a bit early to restart that again. its like stopping alcohol. the alcoholic can have one beer after a year or two but after 1 month? no way!
@danndan6 Have killed themselves by over doses and suicide. A lot of them contract STD's and other diseases. But enough of that tangent, I was merely thinking of imaginary stimuli that one were to masturbate too. Would it be bad to masturbate, per say, once a week or once every 2 weeks or what ever's ? Not developing any patterns or anything in the mean time.
@tetryst Google the following, keeping the asterisks: ( "Too much porn/masturbation cause ED?" Medhelp ), and you can read almost 1,000 posts (and growing) by young healthy men with porn-induced ED. This is just one of many threads on Medhelp alone. Search Medhelp and you will find a few more threads with hundreds of posts, along with countless shorter threads.
This is a new phenomenon, unrecognized by sexologists and most urologists, as they were educated in the pre Internet era.
@1mACann0n Even if evolution is fake, it doesn’t negate the main points I used “evolution” to make: 1) Humans share a limbic system with all other mammals, and it has an agenda of its own, which is reproduction and survival. 2) Internet porn is a supernormal version of a natural reward (sex) we humans have never before experienced. 3) Interent porn addiction isn't fake.
@BIGthingsSON A huge absolutely. This video series is not about masturbation, or even porn. It's about Internet porn. I'm not sure how old you are, but guys in my high school never discussed porn. None of my friends used it. Masturbation was imagination only for most guys. If it was "porn", it was Playboy or Penthouse. It wasn't a thousand different genres, masturbating with your left hand, having multiple windows, and sclicking around for just the right shot.
I'm 21 and I indulge a bit too much in internet porn. Saw this video on a forum and decided to go ahead and stop. My motivation did increase quite a bit and I just generally feel more energetic. Was just curious as to whether I can rub one out (minus the internet bullshit) here and there without the negative aspect talked about in this series.
@BIGthingsSON Glad to hear you are doing better. Most guys abstain from both porn and masturbation as they go through withdrawal and regain balance. No one is perfect though. Takes anywhere from 6-16 weeeks depending on whether ED is involved, and the severity of their addiction. But if you don't have a porn addcition, or orgasm doesn't trigger bingeing, then you may mix in some masturbation (no porn fantasy) without a problem. Many recovery stories on yourbrainonporn.
@THET2236 First, everyone starts out just fine with Interent porn. Where your journey begins and where you end up may be quite different. Second, no one knows how daily porn use affects them until they abstain for awhile. Men are constantly amazed how daily porn use affected their motivation, mood, ambition, attitude, abilty to think, you name it. If all you have ever known is porn, you have no idea what it has done to you.
I saw all your videos, because I'm 15 and thought I had ED when me and my girlfriend where going to have sex for the first time. People said it was performance anxiety, but It wasn't since I wasn't nervous nor had expectations upon myself. When we were going to do it, My erection went away! I dug deeper and found yourbrainonporn and realized it was due to my porn use since i was maybe 11 and excessive masterbation. I'm quitting both now, and hoping to lose it to her soon.
@tetryst You are incorrect. Our sites have been linked to by hundreds of forums from 25 different countries. Some threads have a thousand posts. See Psychology Today, “Porn-Induced Sexual Dysfunction Is a Growing Problem”. All these otherwise healthy young men shared only two variables: 1) Years of porn use, 2) Unexplained chronic ED. Only ONE variable was altered, and the men recovered. Stopping porn use and limiting masturbation for 2-4 months cured their ED and libido issues.
@BodyWisdomVideos It is, Because I stopped a week ago and i can feel the difference. I actually get morning wood now, and simply kissing gets me fully erect now. I tried to focus only on sensation yesterday, but started to fantasize about things and before I could stop I Ejaculated, and it felt way better when ejaculate this time then back then when I use to watch and masturbate to Porn. Your information is very helpful and im on my road to recovery (: Thanks
Internet porn addiction is a good thing for society. All the dumb people who sit around watching porn all day will be less likely to populate the world with more dumb people, thus the world will not play out like the story line of the movie "Idiocracy".
You're erroneously assuming a link between idiocy and watching porn. If you look around you, you will see that the stupidest people are the ones doing most of the reproducing.
@CosmicDestroyer99 I was thinking of getting addicted to porn and murder but I can't find any videos whose effects last longer than the videos. At this rate I'll spend all my time on the computer and never murder anyone! I might as well be playing WoW!
@tetryst Well see I've seen beheadings and stuff and but it never bothers me I've been so desensitized that I don't feel anything but I know I wouldn't go out and do it to someone unless I had a just cause..Same things with porn I watch it but I'm not gonna go out and rape some woman cause of it
@tetryst I've seen people beat up and stabbed in jail when I did a 9 month term for assault..I don't have any feelings..Honestly I like the violence as long as it's not me or anyone I care about even when I get into fights I get a high from it
I am not trying to be mean, but you would be classified as a psychopath. You should start studying a wide variety of subjects to get away from your conditioning. If you want some info. just send me a pm and I have a couple 100 documentaries in my playlist that will possibly help you, if not everyone else out.
@FearTheReaperMan No offense taken..Actually made me laugh..I have alot of mental disorders but I have alot of caring and compassion for people..But most human beings are disgusting creatures so I understand why serial killers or mass murderers do what they do..See now I couldn't go up to someone I don't know and shoot them but if I had a just cause I would..See if you look as some of our soldiers in the military. Some them actually like shooting all those enemy soldiers and get a high from it
@CosmicDestroyer99 I think that we all (western civilizations) may have some sort of mental disorders, including the' self. But personally I believe that the majority of our disorders we have be conditioned into them, therefore we have the potential to break it down and eliminate it... Everything that goes up most come down. Most likely soliders that enjoy that will be effected. Yes, we do live in a fucked up society, but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Violence to end violence, just creates more
@CosmicDestroyer99 violence. The way ti fix the problem, is to educate oneself and others, while elimating violence. Just work on breaking your conditioning down, I need to do the same myself. I suggest checking out Jiddu Kristnamurti, he's one awesome dude.
Could sexual education in our schools be any more bullshit? Why the fuck didn't I learn this 10 years ago... this needs to be in our schools, instead of that generic, broad, non fact-based "say no to drugs" idiocy.
BWV. I've been masturbating since I was 12, that's 5 years of constant-everyday masturbation. My question is, is it too late to stop? Will not masturbating as much still benefit me? (i.e anxiety goes away, confidence improves)
I find this hard to masturbate to

@RavenousSky I see what you're doing. You're trying to equate the hysteria that once surrounded marijuana use with the hysteria that you think is being projected onto porn use. Well, here's the difference: internet porn actually IS insanely addictive. Been there, done that. Glad I recovered. Is it still risky to just watch porn and not masturbate?
DrtyLittleRockStar 1 week ago
@DrtyLittleRockStar Risky? If you mean is there a risk for addiction, the answer is of course. The video and the website are called your brain on porn, not your brain on orgasm/masturbation. There's virtually no mention of masturbation in either video series. The video is all about Internet porn...and nothing else.

@BodyWisdomVideos So dude what do all these videos mean?

I don't get I watch porn and I could go days, or months without sex or porn and I don't think I'm addicted... Yet i still do suffer from anxiety and depression.
MuSiKFL0 1 week ago

That is a pseudo-medical term used primarily by organized religion to scare and worry people over something completely natural; and then sell them a self-help book or seminar on how to "beat it", errr I mean overcome it.
gsschoenfeld 4 weeks ago
@gsschoenfeld The American Society of Addiction Medicine released their new definition of addiction, which stated the sexual-behavior addiction exists. This organization contains 3,000 MDs and the top addcition neurobiologists in the world. Google: "Toss Your Textbooks: Docs Redefine Sexual Behavior Addictions".
So when did it become "natural" to watch high-speed, multiple window, hard-core for hours a day, starting around age 10?. What hunter-gather tribe was that again?
BodyWisdomVideos 4 weeks ago
@BodyWisdomVideos By doing that they are admitting to "redefining" the classical definition of addiction. It's not a matter of what is and is not natural, it simply what words appear in a dictionary. If addiction is streaming hard-core porn for 10 hours a day, then of course that is a problem, but I suspect it's more complicated than just porn. My objection is that elements of organized religion will speak as if someone is an addict without ever making a clinical diagnosis.
gsschoenfeld 4 weeks ago
@gsschoenfeld It's NOT the amount of porn one watches, it's specific alterations in the brain that establish addiction (read the article?). Brain changes include hypofrontality, sensitization, and desensitization. ASAM stated these "brain changes reflect a specific set of signs and symptoms" (in my video). That's clinical diagnosis. Research confirms both behavioral & drug addictions involve the same brain changes. Could you stick to science and save religion for some other video?
BodyWisdomVideos 4 weeks ago
@BodyWisdomVideos Don't worry I can read just fine. "The new ASAM definition makes a departure from equating addiction with just substance dependence, "
That is a wholesale revision of the "science" of addiction. The DSM manual does not support this. All that is happening is a semantic change to the language. It justifies lots of billing opportunity but no real treatment. That only helps the ASAM members broaden their relevance. The ASAM will eventually retract this.
gsschoenfeld 4 weeks ago
@gsschoenfeld The DSM is a political organization 20 years behind the times. The DSM once listed homosexuality as a psychiatric condition, and is now proposing medicating 2 year olds for ADHD. That said, the new DSM will recategorize pathological gambling as an addiction. ASAM neurobiologists are the THE SOURCE for addiction research, not the DSM. ASAM will not retract anything as all research points in only one direction: all addictions involve the same mechanisms & brain changes.
BodyWisdomVideos 4 weeks ago
@gsschoenfeld (cont) New research shows that all addictions are initiated by the same molecular switch- DeltaFosb. This brain molecule causes addiction related changes, whether it's food, drug, or sex addiction. The evolutionary purpose of DeltaFosb is to encourage binging (food and mating season). Really get that drugs hijack a mechanism in place to "get it while the getting is good" for food and sex. Overconsumption leads to high levels of DeltaFosb and brain changes.
BodyWisdomVideos 4 weeks ago
@gsschoenfeld New studies (since my video was made) have established that Internet Addiction causes all the brain changes seen in drug adicts: hypofrontality, sensitization, desensitization, and disorganized myelin. Go to YBOP and Google - Internet Addiction Studies: Summaries.
SO: All clinical evidence; addiction neuroscience; recent brain studies on Internet addicts; self-reports from addicts - point in only one direction: Addiction.
All you have is the "religion card".

Please tell me how i can get around.
xXdeathimpactXx 3 weeks ago
@xXdeathimpactXx Maybe seeing real feet will be just fine. Every guy who gets hooked on porn see's real girls and their parts. The problem isn't the real deal, it's watching videos and being a passive observer. Just see what happens.
BodyWisdomVideos 3 weeks ago
@BodyWisdomVideos But honestly the reason why i'm rebooting is to stop the whole "feet" thing.. I fell like it escalated and i feel like it's not normal that's just something that i know because it becomes so shocking..
xXdeathimpactXx 3 weeks ago
@BodyWisdomVideos Hey i had a question. I had a wet dream but basically i don't think that came i just had like an orgasm. I wanted to know is it possible to actually grab your penis and jerk it off during your sleep? Did i choose to do that or was it uncontrolable? And how come i felt worried in my dream when i orgasmed?

@xXdeathimpactXx Wet dreams are normal at your age if you choose not to masturbate.

if you replaced porn with sexing the actual porn stars at the same frequency, wouldn't it have the same effects/symptoms? It seems pretty impossible that your dopamine receptors would know the difference.
ListActivist 1 month ago
@ListActivist No. Read "porn, then and now: welcome to brain training" on YBOP. Sex with one person cannot match Internet porn: ability to click to what is most exciting, fast-forwarding, multiple tabs, endless genres, escalation to shocking/surprising, and 300 vaginas, 600 boobs, and moans of exctasy - all in one session. Plus, you train your brain to need intense visual stimulation and you become a voyeur rather than a participant. Oh yeah – death grip or speed fapping.
BodyWisdomVideos 1 month ago 6
@BodyWisdomVideos I disagree sex with a real person is way better than porn. That would be like saying playing tiger woods golf on Playstation is more stimulating than playing real life on a public course because you can play any course you want on the game.
pmk422 1 month ago
@pmk422 That's my experience too. But it's not the experience of those addicted to Internet porn. The video series is for those individuals. Many young men cannot achieve erections with real women, yet can with porn.
I don't get excited thinking about cocaine or cigarettes Does that mean that cocaine and cigarette addictions do not exist?
Our experience is irrelevant to others experience.
PS - many people who play video games find gaming more exciting than real golf.
BodyWisdomVideos 1 month ago
@BodyWisdomVideos Another important comparison between video game golf and real golf is that it requires far less effort to play video games, and its much more difficult to get good at real golf. Just as its easier to watch porn then find a women, takes no skill to watch porn, and there is no risk (of rejection) with porn. Its actually a very interesting comparison when you stop to think about it.

Please tell me because if you tell me that i gave up i might as well masturbate
xXdeathimpactXx 1 month ago
@xXdeathimpactXx Tell you what? I'm not sure waht you are asking, but here's my advice. Relax. Stop overthinking, and don't view "porn addiction" or "porn recovery" as black & white. It's not a drug.
This about retraining your brain to what is real by avoiding waht is fake - a screen.
Your black & white, all or none thinking is counterproductive: "if you tell me that i gave up i might as well masturbate" .
BodyWisdomVideos 1 month ago
@BodyWisdomVideos You don't understand.. Everytime i do this i fail fail fail over and over. This is become very stressful i feel like i cant accomplish my goal. I just relapsed and i spent 5 hours trying not to but i ended up relapsing, i fucking hate this shit.

@xXdeathimpactXx I'm not sure what your goal is, but if you are trying to abstain from masturbation too, it may be a mistake. Just avoid porn and porn like behaviors.

Clicking from pic to pic, fast-forwarding to your favorite scenes, multiple tabs, and watching = preparation for watching porn - not sex with a real person. Imagination is all we ever had until a few decades ago.

@BodyWisdomVideos But how come i used to watch normal stuff and then now when i watch it its harder for me to reach orgasm but when i watch the weird stuff i achieve my orgasm way faster?
xXdeathimpactXx 2 months ago
@xXdeathimpactXx As shown in the video, porn addiction causes a decline in dopamine signaling, which leads to needing more stimulation to get the same high. This is called tolerance, which leads to escalation. Most porn users escalate to new genres because novelty increases dopamine. You reach orgasm faster due to more dopamine, but soon that will wear off.

From your perspective, what do you think my rebooting time should be?
xXdeathimpactXx 2 months ago
@xXdeathimpactXx I cannot predict even if I knew your reasons for quitting. Most guys who reboot, do so because they have porn-induced ED. Do you? If so, see the FAQ on the site. With ED, the men use their erection health as a barometer. IF not, then you have to determine how long you attempt to also eliminate, or drastically reduce masturbation. Rebooting is really about learning what is you and what is porn. There's an FAQ on "how do I know I am back to normal".
BodyWisdomVideos 2 months ago
@BodyWisdomVideos Ok please answer this for me. What does exactly fantasize mean? I sometimes get strong urge to look at a foot scene i saw a long time ago and i imagine the picture in my head.. Is that fantasizing? And how do i ignore it?

xXdeathimpactXx 2 months ago
@xXdeathimpactXx Did you start with the "rebooting tab", at the top of the page? That's where you want to start. It too exlains dopamine. Nothing wrong with activating dopamine and the reward circuit. It happens all day long. Can't avoid it. Would die without it.

And the effect from ejaculating from masturbating vs sex is different?
Duitslond 3 months ago
@Duitslond Studies that show sex releases more prolactin than masturbation, but that has nothing to do with this video series or porn addiction. Internet porn addiction is more akin to video game addiction. It's the novelty and delivery, along with starting in early adolesence that leads to addiction. Google - "Porn Then and Now: Welcome to Brain Training". One can become addicted without ever masturbating. We know of a few men who rarely masturbated and still developed ED from just watching.

I quit for over a couple of weeks, then today saw a video for the first time in a while. Would you say it's bad to mas. once every couple of weeks or even every other day or so?
FearTheReaperMan 4 months ago
@FearTheReaperMan Most guys have an easier and quicker rebooting if they avoid masturbation. However, It really depends on your condition (ED or not), and whether, masturbation triggers binging on porn. Those with porn-induced ED do much better eliminating masturbation during recovery. Most men with only addiction find that avoiding masturbation allows a complete withdrawal, then a resetting of the brain. Avoiding porn, though is the key, becasue it is the addiction.
BodyWisdomVideos 4 months ago
@BodyWisdomVideos Yeah, I am 99% sure I don't have ED, but I also have never had sex. No I do not binge on porn, or so more recently. I have been watching porn for about 7 years now and the most I would mas. would probably be 3-4 times a day. That was rare for the majority of the time. I never got into 'weird' porn either, but I have been having a little trouble quitting. I have quit ALOT of bad habits 'cold turkey', and porn though, seems to be the hardest.
FearTheReaperMan 4 months ago
@BodyWisdomVideos I don't know if I would be classified as a porn addict though. I read through some of your website, and I match up with some of the 'symptoms'. Would you possibly suggest any advice for quitting?
FearTheReaperMan 4 months ago
The advice is to stop porn, porn fantasy, and any behavior that mimics the searching for sexual stimuli, such youtube vids, facebook, etc. It’s the constant need for novelty that drives Internet porn use. Your limbic brain doesn’t know what porn is, it only knows habits (searching) that lead to reward. If you masturbate, try it to sensation only –no fantasy. It trains the brain away from needing visual stimuli. This leads to more excitement with a real life partner.
BodyWisdomVideos 4 months ago
@BodyWisdomVideos K, thanks man. I quit yesterday, I'll let you know how it goes. ^.^
FearTheReaperMan 4 months ago

@FearTheReaperMan how do you know you wouldn't be developing any patterns? when i had my first cigarette, joint, burger or jerk i didn't think that any patterns would emerge. we just can't predict these things. my personal advice would be that it's not my say whether or not you jerk but 1 month seems a bit early to restart that again. its like stopping alcohol. the alcoholic can have one beer after a year or two but after 1 month? no way!
danndan6 3 months ago

This is a new phenomenon, unrecognized by sexologists and most urologists, as they were educated in the pre Internet era.

evolution is fake...
1mACann0n 4 months ago
@1mACann0n Even if evolution is fake, it doesn’t negate the main points I used “evolution” to make: 1) Humans share a limbic system with all other mammals, and it has an agenda of its own, which is reproduction and survival. 2) Internet porn is a supernormal version of a natural reward (sex) we humans have never before experienced. 3) Interent porn addiction isn't fake.

So is it different performing masturbation without internet porn?
BIGthingsSON 5 months ago
@BIGthingsSON A huge absolutely. This video series is not about masturbation, or even porn. It's about Internet porn. I'm not sure how old you are, but guys in my high school never discussed porn. None of my friends used it. Masturbation was imagination only for most guys. If it was "porn", it was Playboy or Penthouse. It wasn't a thousand different genres, masturbating with your left hand, having multiple windows, and sclicking around for just the right shot.

@BodyWisdomVideos
BIGthingsSON 5 months ago
@BIGthingsSON Glad to hear you are doing better. Most guys abstain from both porn and masturbation as they go through withdrawal and regain balance. No one is perfect though. Takes anywhere from 6-16 weeeks depending on whether ED is involved, and the severity of their addiction. But if you don't have a porn addcition, or orgasm doesn't trigger bingeing, then you may mix in some masturbation (no porn fantasy) without a problem. Many recovery stories on yourbrainonporn.

meh i fap everyday to porn plus i have sex alot so it doesn't do anything bad to me?
THET2236 5 months ago
@THET2236 First, everyone starts out just fine with Interent porn. Where your journey begins and where you end up may be quite different. Second, no one knows how daily porn use affects them until they abstain for awhile. Men are constantly amazed how daily porn use affected their motivation, mood, ambition, attitude, abilty to think, you name it. If all you have ever known is porn, you have no idea what it has done to you.

Dear @BodyWisdomVideos

BodyWisdomVideos 4 months ago
@DJNpimp Please visit yourbrainonporn & start with the FAQ, "Is my erectile dysfunction related to my porn use?". Follow all the links.
A simple comparison test to assess porn-induced ED:
1. Masturbate to your favorite porn.
2. Try to masturbate using no porn and no fantasy - only sensations. Masturbate with same speed and pressure as you would during intercourse.
Compare 1 & 2 with sexual intercourse. If you achieve a strong erection with #2, then it may be anxiety. More details on site.

USAV3T 5 months ago
@USAV3T

I might as well be playing WoW!
tetryst 5 months ago
@tetryst Well see I've seen beheadings and stuff and but it never bothers me I've been so desensitized that I don't feel anything but I know I wouldn't go out and do it to someone unless I had a just cause..Same things with porn I watch it but I'm not gonna go out and rape some woman cause of it

I am not trying to be mean, but you would be classified as a psychopath. You should start studying a wide variety of subjects to get away from your conditioning. If you want some info. just send me a pm and I have a couple 100 documentaries in my playlist that will possibly help you, if not everyone else out.
FearTheReaperMan 4 months ago
@FearTheReaperMan No offense taken..Actually made me laugh..I have alot of mental disorders but I have alot of caring and compassion for people..But most human beings are disgusting creatures so I understand why serial killers or mass murderers do what they do..See now I couldn't go up to someone I don't know and shoot them but if I had a just cause I would..See if you look as some of our soldiers in the military. Some them actually like shooting all those enemy soldiers and get a high from it
CosmicDestroyer99 4 months ago
@CosmicDestroyer99 I think that we all (western civilizations) may have some sort of mental disorders, including the' self. But personally I believe that the majority of our disorders we have be conditioned into them, therefore we have the potential to break it down and eliminate it... Everything that goes up most come down. Most likely soliders that enjoy that will be effected. Yes, we do live in a fucked up society, but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Violence to end violence, just creates more
FearTheReaperMan 4 months ago
@CosmicDestroyer99 violence. The way ti fix the problem, is to educate oneself and others, while elimating violence. Just work on breaking your conditioning down, I need to do the same myself. I suggest checking out Jiddu Kristnamurti, he's one awesome dude.

@FearTheReaperMan Violence is only necessary when needs be..But yeah I'll check him out thanks man
