Figures that they cancelled it just as it was getting really good.Didn't like it in the beginning,but the additions (especially Claudia Black) made a huge difference.They should have added her long before they did.She has a presence as an actress that enhances anything she is in.

SGU had a budget of about $1-2mil/episode

coming from MGM, a financially screwed company

not only did SGU fail, it sucked around $20-40 mil

as far as MGM/SyFy are concerned, that means that the entire stargate franchise wont' make money, also, they don't have money left for the movies/a new series/recontinuing SGA (partially since the Atlantis set has been dissassembled, and the props auctioned off)

so, yup. . .all hope is lost :'(

Atlantis vs Destiny. Who would win? Lets see...Atlantis is piloted by the best pilot. If anything goes wrong, they have the smartest scientist on it's side, and if it came to soldier on soldier battling, Atlantis has a Sedetin (spelling?). Now what about Destiny? It has a 100,000 year old ship that has over half of it not working. Its captain has no power. The main scientist is single minded and not really smart. And the two best soldiers are a man whore and a convict.

it's very unlikely that Atlantis is older than destiny as destiny followed the ships that made the very FIRST stargates XD and the pegasus gates are the newest models out of destiny gates, milkyway gates, and pegasus gates. not to say they didnt upgrade but destiny is right behind the ships that actually make the destiny gates.

No. No it can't. It never has. But it's all people have to hang on to. Didn't do much for firefly or any other show in the past. Anyway, if a show runs too long it has to change or keep repeating stuff. The only things that speak to big corps is action (sci-fi films have tought us that) and there is no way to organize a formal protest where people refuse to watch any show from that network... and any other actions would either be ineffective or unreasonable.

I can't say I've read every post here, but it seems they just decided to try a different approach with SGU.

I tryed to do a potition for SG-1 and no one wanted to help me, If I couldn't get my voice hurd I dont think anyone one else could. But also look at it as Stargate was a movie, SG-1 lasted 10 years, Infinity was barily watched and know Atlantis is 5 years that dont leave much for Universe. But whos to say it wont spand from Universe?
