Completely agree. Even Hyundai and Kia have improved. Proton is still shit. I d ont understand why some still support them. After 27 years nothing improved. Even early Saga was much better. Government put tax on import car and make them overpriced. Most people can afford import car so they forced to but national cars despite many probelms and outdated tech. That why Proton felt they dont have to improve since they know people still gonna buy their cars.

Other manufacturer rebadged only non core product. Meaning those products that are not going to bring in significant profits to their bottom line. Proton in another way is rebadging cars that will be thier main contributor to thier bottom line. The rebadged Saga, Iswara, Wira are their main core products. Now they are heading that way again by rebadging Lancer because thier own design could not contribute much to their profit. Now they need to go back to the 80's to bring in main profit.

actually proton are not making use of Mit..Its Mit that are making use of proton. By using PROTON brand. they are able to import both the chassis and the parts into Malaysia using the name of PROTON. Rather than paying expensive taxes to govt, MIT get hold of proton. And instead selling to customer(LANCER EX), they are selling it to proton. So whatever it is, they are basically earning money from both equal side. Either LANCE EX or INSPIRA, its the same for them. =))

He's a richman, he says at the end of the day it's still a car, build n faults happens, n the BMW one he has is causing more faults and he spent a lot fixing it too. Dont talk abt price sometimes, our car is expensive but our petrol is considered very cheap, compare to a lot of countries, u can afford a car but u cant afford the petrol.....

Proton should be more original instead of "copy and paste".Stop buying other car companies and using their parts!Be original,that's what makes it special.If proton was more original and produced better quality car,more people will surely buy them.
Proton has been in business for so long and not producing any results.look at hyundai,started later then us yet they are starting to produce so much better looking cars and the quality is not bad.

Other manufacturer rebadged only non core product. Meaning those products that are not going to bring in significant profits to their bottom line. Proton in another way is rebadging cars that will be thier main contributor to thier bottom line. The rebadged Saga, Iswara, Wira are their main core products. Now they are heading that way again by rebadging Lancer because thier own design could not contribute much to their profit. Now they need to go back to the 80's to bring in main profit.

actually proton are not making use of Mit..Its Mit that are making use of proton. By using PROTON brand. they are able to import both the chassis and the parts into Malaysia using the name of PROTON. Rather than paying expensive taxes to govt, MIT get hold of proton. And instead selling to customer(LANCER EX), they are selling it to proton. So whatever it is, they are basically earning money from both equal side. Either LANCE EX or INSPIRA, its the same for them. =))

Here's the sins of Proton:
1. Rebadge a foreign car & sell it as 'National Car'.Other carmakers get their design from other manufacturers too,but they don't copy as much as 99% of the design
2. Claim that Proton is affordable, but it damn expensive compared to the ORIGINAL price of foreign cars.
3. Claim that Proton cars are good, but they're piece-of-shits. I owned American, German, Japanese & M'sian cars so I know what I'm talking about.

@spalderz disagree on 1 point. Myvi is also a rebadge car. It's more about business, not about dignity or fulfilling what we thinks we can have. Who also dream of Lux car, even if proton never exists, people wil start complaining abt why lux car ex n etc etc. To the world, it's just about business even to Mitsubishi. Btw, human wil forever complain when they put 2 TVs together, if they don't, they won't, only during tiems the TV breaks down, which i do admit local car tendency of QC is not good

@KahSing82 plus.....my friend owns a BMW, it kept having problem until it burns up. He then hav a secondary car Waja. He's a richman, he says at the end of the day it's still a car, build n faults happens, n the BMW one he has is causing more faults and he spent a lot fixing it too. Dont talk abt price sometimes, our car is expensive but our petrol is considered very cheap, compare to a lot of countries, u can afford a car but u cant afford the petrol.....

1.They do produce national cars= waja, persona, savvy,neo, exora. Rebadge is not new in automotive industries. Beside, mitsu rebadge exora.
2.Affordable is a subjective definition. But yes, most Malaysians can afford a Proton.
3. Proton cars are good! There are not at the same level with some of the major makers, but they can compete with most. You just have to believe in local made products.Thats all.

But Proton Perdana was well made except for the gearbox.Proton has no crash test.Let it be inspira 98% of Lancer looks.Still the materials were made In Malaysia. They should reconsider The Materials and be more serious to safe life's. Its just my oppinion alone, i could be wrong.
