i am in winnipeg for 2 months now and i saw alot of cops doing their work. IF you want to see cop brutality go to the US and see them using their gun for a traffic stop.

omg, these comments flabbergast me ... I was astounded by the police's behavior in this video ... it was like they were proving the protesters' point and underscoring the relevance of the event. Yes, being asked to walk on the sidewalk sounds somewhat reasonable, but it's clearly being done here as a exercise of power and intended to provoke and humiliate. The drumming was about not being silenced, and demonstrating that in a beautiful, expressive, non-aggressive way in an escalating situation.

IMO, the reason vulnerable people decide not to report crimes committed against them to police is because they don't want to be victimized further, which means police aren't doing their job effectively. Their behavior is not acceptable to me, and I also don't think they have the right to speak to citizens disrespectfully. It's their job, we don't have to accept abuse from police because they have a stressful and dangerous job and more than we need to accept it from doctors or airline pilots.
