Good grusome fun! Vincent Price is such an icon of horror. Joseph Cotten is also great in Hitchcock"s Shadow of a Doubt. Going to watch Rises Again next!

Phibes is a jerk - the doctor didn't have a homicidal loony gibbering away at him while trying to save Phibes' wife, so the two operations are not comparable.

OMG, I was saying to a friend a minute ago, "Dr. Phibes is like Saw with a quirkier sense of humor"...but Saw probably was directly inspired by the surgery scene!
