I can advise you an excellent exercice that all the jazzmen do : try to do your own transcription (tabs or score - but score is better) from a solo that you love. It is very very good for the ear and the technique.

Sorry, but I only use the notes on a score, and never the tabs. And I improvised for the great majority of that video.

I just got my Father's " Larry Adla pro 16 " after he passed away. I have'nt played Chromatic for years ...so i hope you don't mind me using your video to help me get back " in the swing " again !

Just wish he sustained notes a bit more, there are times it feels a little choppy or staccato. But meh just my opinion.

In fact, my style is influenced by Toots ( that I have very often listened to ), and Claude Garden that I listen to almost every day since several years. Claude Garden is very precise concerning his placement of his notes when he played jazz.

But I have listened also a lot of other jazzmen ( Django Reinhardt, etc... ).
