I own an 08 350z, one of my best friends owns an 07 ms3, we're both nearly identical excellent drivers, z rips all the way...we've raced in our own cars and each others, drag, circuit, highway pulls...the ms3 is very quick and makes a valiant attempt at keeping up, especially considering how much more practical it is, but the Z is a pure performance sports car, no comparison, we both agree...outperforms on every level

You know, it all depends on driver, clearly the riced out Z didn't know how to shift and 07-08 are fast. You come and race me and find out what happens when u race a real driver. Ill be the first to tell u that 03-06 Z's and g35 are slow. I have a 08.
The 03-04's had 287hp only. In 05, choosing the 35th Annivarsary or Track package got you the 300hp engine. In 2006, the automatic transmission got you the 287hp engine, but choosing the 6 speed manual got you the 300hp engine.
I've raced an 07-08 in my 05, and the HR does better on highway pulls, but off the dig, its a drivers race, but in favor of 0708. i drag my buddy's 07 and is brother's 06. 06 and I are always close but he wins cuz he has a few bolt ons. And the 07 get about .3-.5 seconds on me on the quarter mile. So not all that much better except highway pulls where the 7 will slowly start creepin ahead
Even so, the Mazdaspeed3 can out handle the 350Z stock, and this modified Mazdaspeed3 has even less power than the 350Z stock. But I'm assuming that it being a heavy sad excuse of a sports car is why it lost. Affording a Z? Why would I cough up so much when I can save $6,000.00 by buying the cheaper, faster, and more practical Mazdaspeed3?!
A front wheel drive mazdaspeed3 cannot come close to outhandling a 350Z. The 350z pulls
.93g on the skidpad, compared to the MS3's .88g. Braking distances are neearly identical. the Z runs the slalom a bit

Necessary nowadays. 3) Because I CAN'T have a 2 seater car. If you are going to buy a 350Z which I can afford mind you, go buy a Corvette, or a Crossfire. Because I'll tell you. My buddies 06 z has test pipes and he runs consistent 13.6-7 everytime. Where you get that z's are slow is beyond me when 08's are hitting low 13's bone stock.
I ran 14.1 completely stock in my 2003 (lowest year Z out). Stock down to the Spare tire still in the trunk, and that was only my 3rd and final pass of the night (only got to make 3 passes). You think a Z is slower than an MS3, you are misinformed. And as biker1510 said, 2008's run low 13's bone stock. The guy in this vid probably isn't even smart enough to know to turn off the VDC traction control...

Yeah they both may be in the 2xx hp range but i would say that the ms3 weighs atleast a couple hundreds pounds less. ms3 stock is 3,153.. while the Z is 3,339.. I weigh 220 lbs myself, and my passenger is about 180..(he had NO passenger) what sucks about having so much cargo room is that you tend to use it..(about 100 lbs worth of tools/stock parts in the back plus that spare tire yay )

The nearest 1/4 track is about 4 hours away in south carolina/columbia area. Maybe I'll hit around 13.5 that would be nice.

In response to all the bickering, yes. Stock for stock the Z is faster with the same driver.
With all the Z's on the road, and the high % of douches/posers driving them, chances are anytime I line up with one it is toast.

I plan on finding an MS3 when I move back to the states. I like the Z but too many douchebags drive them thinking they are the fastest thing on the road(mikescharger). Plus I like the practicality of having a 4 door and room to haul people and stuff and saving the Firebird for the weekends.

I own an 08 350z, one of my best friends owns an 07 ms3, we're both nearly identical excellent drivers, z rips all the way...we've raced in our own cars and each others, drag, circuit, highway pulls...the ms3 is very quick and makes a valiant attempt at keeping up, especially considering how much more practical it is, but the Z is a pure performance sports car, no comparison, we both agree...outperforms on every level

The 03-04's had 287hp only. In 05, choosing the 35th Annivarsary or Track package got you the 300hp engine. In 2006, the automatic transmission got you the 287hp engine, but choosing the 6 speed manual got you the 300hp engine.

I've raced an 07-08 in my 05, and the HR does better on highway pulls, but off the dig, its a drivers race, but in favor of 0708. i drag my buddy's 07 and is brother's 06. 06 and I are always close but he wins cuz he has a few bolt ons. And the 07 get about .3-.5 seconds on me on the quarter mile. So not all that much better except highway pulls where the 7 will slowly start creepin ahead

There's more to the driving experience
than drag racing. A 4 door, front wheel
drive hatchback isn't nearly the ride that a rear wheel drive sports car is. Not by a long shot.

But I'm assuming that it being a heavy sad excuse of a sports car is why it lost. Affording a Z? A front wheel drive mazdaspeed3 cannot come close to outhandling a 350Z. The 350z pulls
.93g on the skidpad, compared to the MS3's .88g. Braking distances are neearly identical. the Z runs the slalom a bit
faster.
No one in the market for a sports coupe is going to buy a 4 door hatchback with Front Wheel Drive. Cars like the MS3 and Civic Si are just add on packages for economy cars.
No one builds a dedicated perfomance car using FWD...and they don't stitch pink shit
on the seats.

Um, yeah they will. I'm 37, and it's red on the seats FYI. I bought a MS3 for the reasons of: 1) I have a kid. (4 seater, top in it's class for safety)... 2) It's only 24K for 27MPG average. Necessary nowadays. 3) Because I CAN'T have a 2 seater car. If you are going to buy a 350Z which I can afford mind you, go buy a Corvette, or a Crossfire. Because I'll tell you. I hung with a Crossfire with that kick ass wind up it has, and that'll smoke a 350Z like a cigar. I've beaten one too.:)

You don't have to be a "350Z person" to think bright pink stitching is ugly, gawdy, and cheap looking. It looks ridiculous on the Mazdapeed3. It looks ridiculous on the Civic SI,and it looked ridiculous tp have pink stickers and accents on the older STI's.
Fortunately, Mazda smartened up and ditched this gimmick for the 2010 model.

K well first off I just raced a 350Z at the track, it had Intake, and full exhaust, and I smoked him bad the whole race... I ran a 14.3 spinning through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and hitting 102mph lol... I have the same mods as him... 350Z's look nice but they have no ballz!!!

My buddies 06 z has test pipes and he runs consistent 13.6-7 everytime. Where you get that z's are slow is beyond me when 08's are hitting low 13's bone stock.

I ran 14.1 completely stock in my 2003 (lowest year Z out). Stock down to the Spare tire still in the trunk, and that was only my 3rd and final pass of the night (only got to make 3 passes). You think a Z is slower than an MS3, you are misinformed. And as biker1510 said, 2008's run low 13's bone stock. The guy in this vid probably isn't even smart enough to know to turn off the VDC traction control...

Bad cars?? people yea these MS3s are fast my friend has one with exhaust intake and cobb and from a dig its not even close and all i have done to my o7 z is some fresh nittos.. now from a 40-50 roll its very close.. unless i start in second where i get at least a car ahead and STAY there. Z drivers look into the speed 3 racing from a roll below 40 is not a good idea their power band is right there where our cars have to work hard to catch up and usually its too late haha both cars are awesome

Yeah they both may be in the 2xx hp range but i would say that the ms3 weighs atleast a couple hundreds pounds less. I dunno much bout the stats on a ms3 so i could be wrong, but i just couldn't see it weighin as much as a z. That is the only thing i don't like about mine. 3600 lbs!!!! Come on nissan!

ms3 stock is 3,153.. while the Z is 3,339.. I weigh 220 lbs myself, and my passenger is about 180..(he had NO passenger) what sucks about having so much cargo room is that you tend to use it..(about 100 lbs worth of tools/stock parts in the back plus that spare tire yay )

I have yet to run this car on a 1/4.. Ive got high hopes since stock ms3's are touching 13.9-14.1.. I have Cork Sport's DP/MP/CB (full turbo back no cats) being shipped to me right now... The nearest 1/4 track is about 4 hours away in south carolina/columbia area. Maybe I'll hit around 13.5 that would be nice.
