What a joy to watch! The horse looked not a bit lathered after his efforts, well done esp. if the horse is so spooky as the previous commenter mentioned. What a great walk! I would not be able to get my spooky horse INTO that arena, much less get that kind of walk there! My trainer has just started studying Catherine Haddad videos and I'm looking forward to learning a lot!

I read in Dressage Today about how difficult was Cadillac, how he spooked because of the lights and shadows in the arena, and how Catherine trained him to trust her and to instantly respond to her aids when something troubles him. Congratulations! Good job! Proof that good training makes a succesfull horse! I ride a mare with the same kind of problems and started to use the same aproach and it works, slowly, but it works.

Hi AustinDev!

This is not Catherine writing to you but I'm one of her best friends and ride in the same saddle as she does. It is a Stübben Siegfried Schultheis Spezial. Since about 10 years it is not built any longer by Stübben. Once a saddlemaker said to me that only people who can ride can ride in this saddle! It has no padding at all underneath the knee. You sit almost like on bare back. Yes, it makes a big difference to your seat and aids.

Thanks for responding to my comment! That really helps. I emailed stubben and they said that the tristan special is basically the exact same thing as the Shultheis they used to make. Same tree, and no knee rolls, etc. That is awesome you are friends with Catherine, I am her biggest fan! I want to become a groom for her one day :)
