  • let me get my 2 cents in...this tune embodies my final destination. {insert pinya colada here}

  • DIOS BENDIGA TU COLECCION DE FUNK VINYL

  • That keyboard sound at around 4.00 is the same he used on Dukey Stick. I wonder what synth it was?

  • {enter age here} {enter comment here}

    ...clearly adding your age makes your comment more valid... I don't understand why people add there age to their comment when they talk about how much they like this kind of music.... everyone likes funk music... Its just plain fact..if you don't you're dead inside..

  • Timeless master piece. I think most jazz ensembles in high school and university have attempted to play this tune. I love it.

  • LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT, LOVE IT

  • 2maxxjazz great sound you should have known me and my funkers i have 14 years on you, but my 53 year old lover says that i am no way like a 46 year old, body, mind and of course soul, keep passing on great sounds. xx

  • georgey best of best hard on living

  • people of ALL ages listen to george duke, chic, earth wind & fire etc. I am 20 years old and I know plenty of my peers who enjoy a bit of funk or disco now and then. Obviously people get nostalgic and will always hold a particular affinity toward the music of their youth, but just because you grew up in a certain decade doesn't automatically mean that this era's styles is superior to everything that follows it, musical snobbery gets you nowhere.

  • @kutama15 Great comment - there is good music in every age. You just have to look beneath the obvious.

  • I WONDER KIDS NOWADAYS ENJOY THEMSELVES AS MUCH AS WE DID. WE USED TO LISTEN TO REAL MUSIC WITH REAL MUSICIANS.

  • A Classic -- thanks for sharing and don't diss the vinyl!

  • The first time I heard this,the floor opened & there were a small hand ful of dancers. One stood out. He used to rollerskate at Hyde park on Sundays. He was a powerful dancer with finnesse. No one speaks of him now, I wish I could recall his name.

    There were a great many dancers during that era with such style, but that night at Royalty the person mentioned, he used the whole floor & translated the music.It wasn't Gerry it was an older dancer & not Pete Francis. Help me somebody please.

  • Just in case nobody has said so so far, this sounds like Azymuth's Dear Limmertz. Not sure who borrowed from whom, though.

  • good stuff,for real.

  • My father had the original record. I used to look at the cover as a kid with George Duke under Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio De Janeiro staring off in the distance with these real cool pair of shades...........GOOD STUFF.

  • It's truly a magical record, a true dj "tool" if ever there was one... It plays a trick on you where at the end of the record you somehow feel that you're in a different place than you were 7:33 minutes ago! One of the best ever.

  • Rumours nightclub, Stockport 1980, spinning in baggy jumpers, floppy fringe, and black pumps

  • omg I used to DJ at Rumours 89-90 Ive got video of it!

  • 1980/81/82 - Vague memories of Bowie/Roxy nights on Thursday, and jazzfunk on Sundays?? Azymuth, Arthur Adams, Light of the World, George Duke, Patsy Gallant were the main floorfillers back then

    Our mob was mainly from Cheadle/Gatley.

    An old school mate (Paul K) used to DJ there, the other DJ I remember there at the time had a tight shaggy perm and a muzzy (I think). Closed down for a while in 82 and then I moved away. Great days!!

  • @vanmartinmartin Hi.....was Rumours still going in 1989? I thought it got closed down in mid-80's. Were you there in 1980-1982?

He played it everynight and name checked us everytime it was a big chick magnet! very good memories!!
