They must've found the William Hartnell/Patrick Troughton regeneration since then, because I've seen it right here on Youtube, or Davies was just wrong.
He just made everybody neurotic about a possible return in 2013. That would be really good though if they got Chris Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and any other Doctor to appear in a special episode. They've done it before and it would be good to do it again.
I dont think Matt Smith is the best, And I Have just been going back for the last year and watching old David Episodes... but I miss them all... Please Come Back (because remember there is a david doctor in the parrallel world)
You know what? I'm going to guess the doctor dies because of the 'drums'. He heals the master, but dies because of the drums/which become a beating heart symbol - 1,2,3,4... dead
@sparringett The drums actually mean that he's going to die. It's not because of the drums themselves but it just means he's going to die of some phenomenon.
damn my favourite story was the two part finale of series 1 - that was the first regeneration i saw! and i had no idea of who was to play the doctor after!! i wish it was that way for the 11th doctor , but he was going to be caught on set anyhow
i loove tennant he is my fav doctor and i hopw they do make the dr who movie it would be legendary and i want him to do more movies like what eccleston is doing but unlike eccleston he should be the good guy
I liked all the companions but I liked Rose the most because she gave me the feeling that if I was in her shoes, I would do exactly the same thing in each situation that she was in while with the Doctor. I liked how her development as a character was spread out so that by Doomsday, you could tell she was a lot more brave and could fend for herself instead of whining like the beginning of the first season.
I'm second to none in my love of Freema Ageyman and Billie Piper, but Donna will go down with the classic Who companions--K9 (!), Sarah Jane and Jo Grant.
I think they failed Freema, making her all gooey-eyed over the Doc, then making her angry etc. However, I believe Rose will forever be a classic companion as will Donna. They should have kept the entire love angle out for Martha's character - my son ADORES Martha and thinks I don't give her a fair shake - as mentioned tho, I think she had excellent potential as a great companion if they'd just left the love angle out. That was part of what made Donna fantastic.
I think you are right, and I think the producers tried to make it up to her in Season 4. Another reality is that, in Season 3, she was a meteor caught between two stars: The star of the show (!) on one end who had just left, and one of the great comediennes replacing HER on the other. At least Donna's season was a tribute to the WHOLE (new) show.
I think we'll be having who's-the-best-of-the-new-Donna vs. Rose discussions for a long time.
Because this wonderful show needs more exposure in America - thus they had to go and promote the specials! It's obviously well loved in the UK - it needs even MORE love in the US tho.
doctor who is so bad. they spend so much money on it with the sets and effects but the acting in eastenders is better than that. also the doctor who character just does that wide open eyes look ALL THE TIME. i dont want it all the time ok?
wow. You could've gone with a constructive 'I don't like Doctor Who' but oh no.
Most comments on 'bad acting' come from a single acting glitch that critics jump on and blow up to an incomprehensible size. Are you one of those or are you just non-constructive?
And your second reason for not liking Doctor Who is the fact that the main character does a "wide open eyes look ALL THE TIME". 1. That's barely happened in the series. And 2. what sort of pathetic reason is that?
At 7:33 in the crowd shouts MARTHA, after David is asked what his favorite companion character is, and David's response was "sounds like more." Why couldn't David say something like, yes Martha (Freema Agyeman) was wonderful and so were the other companions? That would not have taken anything away from the other companions, just acknowledge the crowds appreciation for Martha/Freema.
Martha/Freema is always overlooked, but not here in America, I dare say she is our favorite companion.
David said that because most of the crowd were screaming ROSE and then some DONNA and some MARTHA. So he just mixed all the names together so as not to have to answer and insult his co-stars.
Sorry, I disagree as the majority of the crowd were clearly shouting Martha and I don't know how the word "more" that David stated, comes from a mixture of Rose, Martha and Donna.
Lucille, I'm just curious, were you at ComicCon? Maybe you had a different perspective from where you were sitting. Because from this clip you clearly hear "Rose" over and over and then "Martha" and then just a wall of sound. However, this is from ONE camera in ONE area in an auditorium that held about 5,000. So I'm sure it was just a big mixture. David is way too professional to single out a companion when he's worked with so many actors. It just won't happen so it's silly even to ask him.
I think viewers have their favorite companions, but they are all great. They each brought out a different part of the Doctor's character, and that's what's so special about each and every one of them. We are supposed to see the show through the eyes of the companion--seeing Time and Space for the first time while the Doctor stays constant thru the years. But each time, he is moved a little, changed a little by their actions. So every season is brilliant, no matter who is beside him for the ride
I reiterate, the majority of the crowd seem to shout out what clearly sounded like Martha to me. When David said "sounds like more" it seems reasonable that he clearly heard the what I heard but didn't want to confirm it so again he stated, sounds like more.
I reiterate again that acknowledging Martha's popularity here in America would not have taken anything away from the other companions; rather Martha's popularity here is just fact, as Rose's popularity in Britain is as such.
I don't know how to answer you any more bluntly. First of all, David would NEVER single out one actor that he worked with. No one with class would do that. He would be gracious and acknowledge ALL of them.
And secondly, he is not snubbing Martha's popularity in the States because there is no definitive proof that she's the FAVORITE of the companions anyway. Have you polled every last Doctor Who viewer in the USA? She's last on my list and most people I talk to love Donna above all others.
It's nice to know you speak for David regarding what he would and wouldn't do about anything much less how he reacted in this situation (chuckle). The proof of Martha's popularity is evident in the crowd reaction, and although Martha may not be at the top of your list, she is certainly at the top of those in the crowd and mine. To each his own.
I agree, David is far to professional to single out anyone, he wont even single out a fav episode! David isn't so crass as to single out a character/actor etc. I thought the very question was (and still is asked by so called proper reporters) crass in & of itself. I think people adored Donna because she held her own, she didn't pine for The Doctor's love & had so many great 1 liners! I hated how Martha was written IMHO, so much potential wasted.
hi there...I was actually at Comic-Con for the panel yesterday and it was great. They all were. David was fantastic with the crowd. He is definately hot in person, and I wouldn't have guessed back problems with the way he was running and high-fiving people at the end. Good times! :) Glad they came!!!
We had a family "Who" night in honour of The Who Crew being in America! We're Aussie/American's living in Florida and total 'geeks' - we so wished they were here in Florida, but settled for watching it and despite DVDS we already have, made sure to watch BBC America's airing of Planet of the Dead for ratings!
I absolutely love this show and I'm kind of miffed that it doesn't get the recognition that it rightly deserves in the States like other shows that aren't as good but have become the central focus of comic con. Boooo! Love Doctor Who!
Rose is cheating on him with his twin, clone, handy man, whatever (Wink)Just because he offered ROse his double didn't mean she wasn't free to say "No, I only want you..." Why would he treasure someone who only loves his body and face and is willing to settle rather than fight for his heart?
But Martha has Tom and I'm glad. Frankly I love Martha, Sarah Jane, Donna, Ace, Susan, Romana, Liz, Rose, Jo, Zoe,- Jamie, they all were wonderful.
The Doctor said his 'clone' had all his memories and such but only one heart. I've joked that it's not the same for Rose since he doesn't have a sonic screwdriver, a TARDIS and prob had to take up 'jogging' to get all that running out! HAH!
Iol-- Like that. The Doctor gave the Dangerous Man Doctor and Dimensional Canon, gun toting Rose a piece of the Tardis to grow. Think about it... RTD says It's on the DVD. The clone knows about River-- that's got to make a difference in how he feels about Rose-- he's missing out on a lot, and if he has the Doctors' memories and emotions-- wouldn't he share his expectations for the future when he becomes the Doctor River spoke about?
I know right?!? Does the man have anything wrong with him - I swear - between talent, graciousness, modesty - he turns out to be very funny and if all that wasn't enough, he's not half bad to look at either!
Thanks for sharing this. It seems quite a WOOO-fest there, eh? Touching when the fellow says "You're MY Doctor!' Tom Baker was and is MY Doctor, and DT is my son's Doctor (but honestly, we share :)).
I was there too ^_~ great panal. They are strick on videoing teasers and such because the companies can stop showing trailers and such. It has happened before sadly where I was in a panal and no movie clips were shown cuase of that.
Again i was there ballroom 20 waited in line and when i got in like half the seats were empty by the time it started it was full sorry for the people who werent in there
Thankyou so much for posting this being in england I obviously missed out big on this years SDCC nice to see some of our shows do so well over there altho this is totally not your fault I'm pretty pissed they've never been to our Comic Con in london seems somewhat unfair we've never been given the opportunity to do this or even get an autograph from David Tennant-now we probably never will. Any other brits agree with me? Anyhoo I digress thanx for posting and I look forward to the other parts :)
Actually living in England you have heaps better chance to get Tennant's autograph than those living in Yankee-land (not from here). They (actors at least) were not allowed to do conventions until no longer in the show - so don't give up hope of seeing David at a Comic-Con near you! I doubt he'll be popping 'round San Diego's next comic con just for laughs! They were only here to promote the specials =( Now if you want his autograph, it's available through his website several dif ways!
Yep! It's his 'Official' site, not RUN by him obviously but only official one. David-Tennant*dot*com the news/archives are awesome. And this copy of the panel is linked there too
You can also check out (the site's layout changed I prefered old layout) a LOT of his short film work (9-20mins). Not sure how the new video section is on the site but has/had lots of links to Blackpool music bits & other work he's done - I love 'Love in the 21st Century'! He's also signed about 2000+ cards now over the last 18 months 4 Headway Essex or contact agent for signed stuff. The info is all there, even a fan forum for bday/xmas wishes he sends written TY notes back to the forum too
you know what? screen-on-a-screen- but the sound is still good. thanks for this! :D

I was there too ^_~ great panal. They are strick on videoing teasers and such because the companies can stop showing trailers and such. It has happened before sadly where I was in a panal and no movie clips were shown cuase of that.

Does anyone know if anyone DID record the End of Time promo clip?
scissorhandslove9 2 years ago 2
they were strictly enforcing the "don't record promo stuff!" rule. I'll be surprised if anyone has it.

His website? He has his own website?!
anubamzai 2 years ago
