because the lyrics to Lalai is by Karo, Viguens brother and he wrote it just for him at a night when they were sitting alone and talking. the actual poem is much longer and Viguen sings only half of it.

To all interested:Mara-Beboose is a highly influenced song by Besame-Mucho.which is written by pianist & songwriter CONSUELO VELAZQUEZ in 1940.Tino Rossi from France sang it in 1945.Beetles,Elvis-Presly & many major singers sang the song.Mara-Beboose was made in 1950s.Research&ducumantation shows this not my saying or my hearing.I know&researced this.Listen to Besame-mocho by Andre-Boceli singing this he has the same arrangement as Vigen.Top right Related video.You will see .

i agree with you...there is a striking simliarity in the tempo and the octaves used....maybe the dissenters don't play instruments? im a guitarist so maybe my ears are a lil more tuned to this stuff and as you said you are a music historian which automatically trumps out everything else lol but good observation...even though i dont understand the song Besame-Mucho i just put Vigen's lyrics in!!!

The melodies are so far apart that even a monkey cannot mix them up. Instead of worthless research, just focus on the divinity of the message in lyrics by Sarhang Siamak who was sentenced to death by criminal regime of Mohammad Reza Shah

Part 2- Using the word copy is a giant leap confusing inspiration vs. copy. I have listened to several versions of the song Bésame Mucho (Kiss Me a Lot) by Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez. Ive particularly listened to the 1940s versions of the song presumably available during the time Mara Beboos was released. I give the benefit of the doubt and assume that the musician had actually heard Bésame Mucho prior to writing Mara Beboos.

Part 3- No impartial listener can recognize anything more than the slightest hint of inspiration from one song to the other-if that. Suppose Mara Beboos was in fact inspired by Bésame Mucho. What a genius to take some inspiration and turn it into an original all-time classic! The only similarities I can detect are: both are sentimental ballads with solo piano starts and a few common words in lyrics. This is no more than inspiration.

As a matter of fact he was killed by communists in 1978 because he was against them. And to make things worse, the Taliban blew up his tomb in 1997. Just like the had blown up all the treasures of our land (Bamyan Buddha statue etc)..

They took away every kind of cultural treasure we had.

May noone go trough the misery our country and people went trough the last 30 years.
