They were not martyrs but heretics and encouraged others to die in error Many tried to save their souls and return them to the Faith but in pride, they did not listen
@bripat22 No... Christ said to love your enemies (Matt 5:44). He didn't say to torture people to make them believe the nonsense you believe. He also told His true followers that the religious elite would kill them thinking they were doing God a service, but that these murderers don't really know God (John 16:2-3). Finally, nothing fits the description in Rev 17:6 better than the Catholic Church. By pride comes nothing but strife and who is more striving than those who seek people out to kill?
In John 16:2-3, Jesus disowns all religious violence, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the men responsible for these crimes will indeed endure Hell forever, unless they repented.
Checked the mail this morning before I left for work, and guess what? I got the new Voice of the Martyrs book, Extreme Devotion. Can't wait to read it.
2 Cor 4:9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
Thanks for this upload, Chris. It is always good to have knowledge of history, and this can also be used to mentally prepare us for what we might face in the future.

True Christians do not commit murder, Catholic Church as an institution and rulers of the day were responsible for those murders.
