I remember I was going to an all-White Jr High School at the time (Sunland Tujunga, CA)...and I walked to the middle of the playground at lunch and blasted this song on my Boom Box (remember those?)...all the kids slowly gathered around as if the Mothership had landed & aliens had came out..(no offense but this was definitely not 'Journey').I can still see their amused faces, bobbing heads, & tapping feet, & I'm still laughing at our brotherhood of man moment to this day thirty years later!..LOL

@slmeucalesa1 .LOL.Great post.I had an opposite situation.I am a brotha'.I went to a 99% white all boys Prep School here in New Jersey.I got exposed to a lot of rock and pop at dances at my school and parties in people's homes.Music i wasn't at all familiar with.Groups like Journey,Pat Benatar,The Police,etc. I played Joan Jett and the Blackhearts,"i love rock n roll'.And got a positive reaction IN THE HOOD.
