As a drummer I can say that just for playin' on Tommy Bolin's "Marching powder" song, Narada can be considered as one of the best drummer of the story...but honestly after that performance I can't find something very interesting in his playing...
@nazzare79 Dig his drumming on Jeff Beck's "Wired" album...or Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Inner Worlds"(They were both from the Mid Seventies I believe...) sick drumming....
@Guitfiddlejase I have them but what he did on the tommy bolin's song is his highlight...one of the best drums part I ever listened in my whole life...thanks
Oh yeah...these were the days, going to nightclubs with too much hair, bright red lipstick, way too much eyeliner and shoulder pads in my jacket, oh the nostalgia, loved those days!
Why can't people like this get together with peeps like Cameo for example and hold a concert in the UK? Now, that is a concert I would pay to see... 80's jams!
Real music from the best era in music . What a great happy catchy tune thats got no evil or racist undertones like a lot of todays music has. Music as it was as it should be and how it needs to be. Great video.
I wish Warner Bros. would quit being assholes and allow their content to be seen here! Because this video is awesome!! I have it on a promo Warner Bros. VHS, and it used to be here too... it's great. It was mostly filmed on the coast just north of San Francisco along Hwy. 1, with a few shots of Coit Tower in SF thrown in too.
delicious positive groove and whoever is playing bass is killin' it !! Today's "musicians" would be wise to listen to the 80's fusion/funk boys to get a clue as to how MAKE music, not just sample people and rub turntables.
ORIGINALDEFTORN: I don't agree about NMW's own material sucking, but your comment brought to mind ANOTHER prolific pop producer whose work for others was STELLAR, but whose solo material was awul:
GARDNER COLE! He was so top-notch as a writer and producer for others, but for some reason, when he recorded his own stuff he was terrible!
I was born in 1990 only how i know this song is because of Grand Theft Auto:TBOGT

Maybe their sense of fashion wasn't that great...
Maybe their (at times) not synchronized dancemoves weren't that great...
but who cares?! It looks like they're having tons of fun putting on a good show for the crowd! =D

I can tell you thing--Narada is the only world class fusion/funk drum god that could step out front and rock a gig like this. Amazing.

OMG.....so camp and gay! Love it! LOL
Those tight hot pants/ leggings were so hot back in the late 80ies (until they became just plain tacky)
N.M.W. is a great songwriter and producer but his own material sucks a bit (I think).
