No mandates without a public option. The analogy to mandated auto insurance is not fair, since one can choose whether or not they want to drive a car but no one can choose when they will get sick or injured. Why should we submit to a law that requires us to give away our money to private hands when they are providing a service that is far more expensive than all the alternatives (public option/single payer)? Only the government, which we are supposed to run, should collect mandated funds.
