@msms68 this is rhythmic gymnastics, they compete with apparatuses, not on them (i heard it described that way once)... they have clubs, rope, hoop, ball, and ribbon, in addition to a free routine, which is a "floor routine"... they can compete individually or in teams. though currently, rope is being dropped gradually...

i suggest you type in rhythmic gymnastics followed by the apparatuses listed above to find routines for all of them.

what i dont like is that at the start the music is slow and she is slow, good, but when the music changes and its more dramatic she keeps with the same movements, slow.. (but she has improve what i say, look at her hoop routine this year 2010 its dramatic and she does it better she can still improve but its vry nice)apart from that she is very very good! she is not my fav gymnast but of russians the best! with tchachina...

@leonradosnob1989 no... Bessonova struggles in her routine with a leap and balance that cost her a difficulty of 1.2... Bessonova is more elegantly, more dramatic, but Kanaeva has more difficulty and at this rotation she perfomed better than Bessonova

No because she had the highest difficulty score of any of the competitors. I think the judges are just too mean to give perfect scores,lol!! That was an extraordinary routine by the way; stunning. The final triple pirouette in backscale was A M A Z I N G and made me cry because it was so gorgeous.lol!!

I must admit that her hoop routine is better than Bessonova. Very solid, tight, and got a lot of more difficult elements. Good choice of music also! The way she performs also not so ambitious but calmly precisely done like nobody's bussiness.
