I have this truck..same year, but SR5 w/out 4wd, and standard, not automatic. I have 2 Alpine Type R 12's in the ex cab, but facing down. Really, the only way to get the right sound out of your subs in a truck is aiming backward, which is tough, or down. I tried up, and forward, and it sounded like crap. I faced them down, and, man, what a difference! You should try it...

@tundralover nice man, i got a 96 tacoma with a kenwood deck and 2 pioneer 10s in the back straped in with seat belts... the kept falling over when i went off roading. you should check out my vids
haha yeah i got it on spoken words so the words are louder. the base is turned only half way up and my subs are on 0. idk when i turn it up real loud it kills my ears lol

yaa..the bass on my stereo is at -4..and my amp is turned less then half way up...and it surprises everybody..i love it..lol
