  • Try the elevator of ''Landmark Tower'' (Yokohama) and ''Taipei 1001'' ...... lets see who is faster XD :

  • We all have no life......we are watching people in elevators........

  • WTF am I doing looking at elevators on Youtube... I clearly have no life.

  • Ostankino Tower is Fastest than this :(

  • taipei 101 is faster, travels around 1 km a minute and you're up over 80 floors under 40 seconds.

  • Make sense much!

  • this elavator turns me on, and it doesnt take alot to turn me on to

  • I think the indicator goes more faster than the elevator goes.

  • wow

  • cool video!

  • Are those Kone Traction Elevators?

  • button pusher

  • I can't believe how excited you are getting so excited over... elevator speed?

  • You did 18 floors in 21 seconds or 180 feet in 21 seconds

  • The building is equivalent to a 24 story office building with 12.7' to 13.5' ceiling height (slab to slab). It's about 330-360ft high.

  • 1,000 VIEWS! YAY!!!! =D

  • That indicator is really nice!

  • Most interesting I've ever seen! =D

  • Nice Elevator!!! And Fast Too!!!

  • Sure are! =D

  • how much floor? what's the name of each floor?

  • ???

  • (1) Calculated just over 36MPH.

    (2) KONE is pronounced CONE, like Ice Cream Cone. I calibrate transducers for them once in awhile, that's how I know. :)

  • Someone pointed out, it was CO-NAY. Kone and my workplace called it "Cone", so that's what I thought it was. :)

  • i hospitals are way faster lol makes me throw up.

but nice anyways the evl is nice :D

  • Sure is a nice elevator! =D

  • thats so cool! nice video

  • Thanks! =D

  • I agree, I've been on a Schindler elevator where it will display the next floor right away after doors close, even though there's a lengthy gap between the 1st and 35th floors...

i hate elevators that display EX instead of where it actually is in the shaft..

  • I never been in an elevator that counts the floors that are not served in the express zone. I only seen such an elevator in Speed!

  • japanese elevators can be programmed in the factory... that is, if you have other elevators travelling to all floors (same distance).

  • NICE!!!!!! You should have ridden all the way down to p1 or2 wich ever is the bottom

  • Thanks! Toronto is a place for these type of elevators!

  • Unusual red LED array showing car position and the floors stopping at.

One thing to bear in mind is that some manufacturers purposely speed up the floor indicator.

From 18 - G, you were passing 16 landings. Starts moving 1:12, doors open on G at 1:32. If you were to include the acceleration and deacceleration, it would make it on average 1.25 seconds per floor.

Older Schindler elevators were classics for this, and Otis (the ones with the vaccum fluorescent green displays).

  • Could be.

  • Maybe it's a well known building.

  • Or it could be the elevators! =D

  • Wow, this is more like a controlled fall than a descent. Very nice interior and indicators as well.

  • Indeed it is =D

  • wow that is fast... awesome.. weeeee

  • weeee for sure! =D

  • Only from the cabin of a jet during initial climb. 3,000fpm is pretty darn speedy

  • You can say that again! :D

  • OMG! It's fast like that haunted elevator ride @ Disney, but free :)

  • I think this elevator is faster! :D

Do know what 3,000FPM feels like? :D

  • Of course.

  • Could be.

  • It makes it more exciting! 8D

  • That's interesting, it must be posted in the building office.

  • I don't know but maybe they're keeping a secret! :D

  • Was there a certificate on the car station that mentioned the speed?

  • Nope.

  • On TOBuilt, it says that this building is a heritage. I wonder why it is?

  • pshh

the tower of terror in disney world is faster

  • :3 lol

  • I think the Tower of Terror reaches the speed of 1800-2200FPM which is pretty fast! :D But this one is a lot faster! :D

  • I hope this video reaches over 1,000 views soon! :D

  • Fascinating.

  • OH HECK YEAH!!!!!! 8D

  • That's really cool!

  • Indeed! This is my most favourite elevator! :D

  • Wouldn't make any sense to install an elevator that "fast" into a 17 floor job. Not practical.

1600fpm elevator in the Scotia Plaza.

  • But it's very astonishing! :D

  • What I'm really saying is. More than likely it is not anywhere near 1500-1700 FPM.

  • But the building is about 330-350ft high.

  • One word: Fast!

  • OMG FAST! 8D

  • Indeed.

  • It isn't 2000 FPM, no elevator is that fast (at least in North America). That is probably 1500-1700 FPM.

  • It looks like 1500-1700FPM, but the average ceiling height per floor in an office building is 13-15ft feet high. This one has an average of 16-20ft per floor equivalent to a 25 story office building.

  • Or 1600-1800 FPM, since 1000-2000 FPM is measured in 200 FPM increments.

  • It's very hard to determine the speed. But the lower floors (G-2 are 14ft ceiling height) (3 is 24ft high) and 4-9 is 21.5 feet which equals 181 feet high and the elevator goes at maximum speed for 2.5-3 seconds. Which is OMG Fast :D! 8D

  • Cool thing.

  • SURE IS!!!!! :D

  • Cool! I gotta try that one.

  • I gotta say that these elevators got to be one of the fastest in the world! :D

  • The elevator must be going max speed. I like Kone elevators.

  • Me too! :D

  • Cool! The Tower elevators at Danbury Hospital do that too; you can't push a floor above you if it's going down, or a floor below you if it's going up.

  • I see. :)
