  • You are such a good sport for posting this. Made my day! I've been there too!

  • great song for the theme of the video xD

  • ahhh gotta love horses haha

  • Are morons still trying to critique this video? Lol! Over three years old and TITLED "The Best of the Worst." Stupidity never ceases to amaze me. ;)

  • Omg luv this it is amazing

tht last jump was amazing to see wht happens cause done tht before where horse looks at it then desides to jump and jump high

really gd u r an amzing rider

  • awww! ur horses are soooo cuite! the one without a tail is sooo cute! and duncan is gorgeous!@

  • i <3 duncan

  • Haha last one is my favorite......well atleast you jumped it!

  • I love the very ending!!!!!!! What you say about the horses teaching you! Cause it's so way for riders to say that it's the horses fault! Love it!

  • wow!! you get the bad horses huh? You handled it amazingly though....i wish i was as brave as you!

  • @ponyclubisthebest That would be why it's called "Best of the Worst," ie. the "best" of my "worst" moments in the tack. ;) This video is over THREE years old at this point...much has changed (for the better). :)

  • duncan is a little stinker at 151

  • u respect them for their patience??? i respect you for yours! ahaha welldone ! xx i know exactly how it feels to not have a push button horse/pony! all the work will be worth while in the end :) good luck! xx

  • Use your bat. Give em a good smack. lol

  • Jeez you can stay on better than me lol

  • The last horse is BEAUTIFUL!!!! & seems like she/he likes to jump lol! great job riding!

  • i think your all bieng a bit harsh on her, shes clearly got a strong horse and the only way you learn is by making mistakes

  • I have a horse for you to ride, he really enjoys dumping his riders and throwing temper tantrums :) You'd probably stay on him alot longer than I usually do LOL

  • i knocked over a standard once :P at a show ! well in the warm up areana but still . -_- talk about enbarassing!

  • exercising polo ponies: ponying 2 off of me (disco-right, tom-left) while riding pay up. disco (who was known most lovingly as disco dumbass-i could write a book on him) decided to SLAAAAAM his brakes as we cantered off on the track pulling me off. tom and pay up went one way, disco went the other leaving me staring up at the sky going uggggh.

  • you need more speed, and you should confirm the jump by hitting the horse with your legs or squeezing its abdomen.

  • @FranciscoSRO2 I am not interested in critiques. All of these clips are from years ago--the last clip (the "most recent") is almost three years old. Thanks anyway!

  • Comment removed

  • @graceland4life123 I wasn't rude--I stated I was not looking for advice. Clearly, this is something you struggle with, too. Might I add that you are being a bit hypocritical, given your riding video is called "bad trotting" and you're asking people not to judge it because it's a year and a half old? You get to be part of the block list, too. Congrats!

  • @FranciscoSRO2 i completely disagree

    1. she doesn't need more speed because speed doesnt equal a better jump, collection does

    2. to make a horse go faster you dont need to hit it all you need to do is adjust your seat

  • Wow you're a fantastic rider - some great saves there! I love the buckskin horse at the end he is stunning! Again, well done, and thanks for sharing!! :) xoxoxo

  • Duncan me likey

  • that must be so frustrating you handle it well though lol its great learning tool like you said at the end... id like to start jumping more

  • i must admit, duncan's style of jumping made me crack up

  • Duncan is REALLY cute!

  • 1:52 made me chuckle... You've definitely got a great seat, lot these horses were rank and you held your own. Very nice!

  • Nicely held in all accounts though as was said before u never let them get away with their attitudes u continue to ride x I jumped the other day but missed the middle of the jump and jumped the block lol i have no bloopers caught on tape but there are plenty of them x

  • wow you have some really good bloopers! lol unfortunatly not of mine were caught on tape so yeah!

  • 1:52 lol! Nice video. You ride really well. You seem to never let the horses' silly attitudes get in the way. Excellent job! :D

  • nooo!!!

the music!!! so sad a classic video soundless ;(

  • the horse in the last clip is absolutely adorable!

  • i feel the same way sometimes.....in my jumping lessons ...i can feel that sometimes they dont want to jump...even if i use leg...like "not i dont want to go....lets go!" kinda throws you off balance. You stayed on pretty well on all of thos....i think the best is when the last horse of the clip did like a four hooved stag jump. good riding!!!

  • You are a good rider. I am sure you have made some improvements since you have had the chance to review your videos... my only suggestion is to try not to collapse your shoulders as much. It will look so much prettier when your shoulders are back and will help in those moments when your horse is pulling you forward out of your seat. But keep on goin' girl... the more you ride, the better you get. And props to your patience!

  • My shoulders have gotten better, but it's still something I have to fight with. Thank you, but I think the horses are owed some accolades for their patience, too! :)

  • I totally get what you are saying. I used to do it too. Until I bought Bo... he would refuse jumps if I threw my shoulders forward at the jump.... I have better posture now when I ride (then I slump my shoulders when I sit... :p ) and I owe it all to him.

  • you have an amazing seat!!!! great job with all the horses :)

  • Wow...that's some jump over a cross-rail at 1:53! Way to stay on!

  • i noticed that head tossing is an issue, have you thought of maybe trying another bit for his mouth?? that could the issue.

  • If it is the light bay mare, yes, she's in a different bit at this point.

  • 1:54

    SUPER PONY!!!!

    so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would love to see another video of you with the same types of refusals but with you riding through them and correcting before the horse has time to stop or run out! You're definitely a good enough rider to start consistently catching it early and getting them over! Don't sweat any mean comments, everyone watching has moments like these, and you can tell you're a good rider!

  • Thank you; this was a collaboration of some footage that really dated back to some older days. I feel that I've come along. Of course everyone makes mistakes on occasion, but I feel better equipped to handle some of the scenarios depicted here.

  • Well keep posting when you get time! It's nice to see fun blooper videos of good riders like you instead of bloopers where it looks like it could get dangerous. You have a great leg and seat!

  • omg omg omg the very last jump with that really nice horse i rode a TB who had never shown before ha jumped every jump like that one like ALLLL through the course ?LMAO and the ver last one 3x's as bad adn i went on his nexk and he took off on me but because i stayed on we ACTUALLY PLACED 6TH IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • very good seat

  • at 1.49, is he young? this vids great! ive got hardly any of my bloopers, and i want some lol, just to look back at and laugh. :) great riding too. how long did it take to get all these vids?

  • He was just getting acclimated to jumping in a new home, so he kind of overreacted. Kind of. :)

  • the horse at 1:49 is so gorgeous! i love his face. good riding.

  • he's duncan !! I loooove this horse !! I know him since a few moment and i can see his progress whch are really quick !! He's so beautifull !! (i'm french so sorry if i made mistakes ^^)

  • to go through all that you are a great rider

  • you did well to try and push him on at 0:14 haha :)

  • good rider

  • you have a rlly nice seat, nothing seems to phase you!

  • lol my mare is exactly like that! i love this vid!

  • I have to say it - the buckskin at the end - GORGEOUS! Great riding :)

  • your heels are amazing!!! theyre down all the time!! how dyou do that? lol good vid x

  • Damn! How Peeps Can Fall horses So Funny?!

  • u're a very good rider (: quiet & very patient & understanding & u dont seem easily un nerved. well done ! xxx

  • wow the girls right that is a gorgeous buckskin!!! Hehe i always wear gloves when i jump :):) xx

  • wow what a gorgeous buckskin!! always wanted a buckskin lol great vid loved the way he kicked out at the start haha, we have all been there, i came off my horse, kept saying i was gonna sell him, i hate him, put a poster up in the supermarket, thought about it, and took it down the next day! you cant just sell a good horse! haha

  • Lol, excellent rides, glad u stayed on for most of them =p recovering from that stuff is tricky!

  • the light bay was crazy! your a really good rider!

  • omg 2:52 was like holy crap! good for you for staying on

  • lol i like the video take of the kick in the beginning.... like i'm badass watch out.. (not saying he is) it was cute.

  • Lmao the way he jumps at 1.50 is soo funy!

  • Those jumps are like a foot off the ground!

  • There's about as much truth in that statement as you claiming you're 19. ;) Cute videos, but it's a really bad idea to lie to make yourself older at your young and tender age.

  • "The jump's gonna eat meee!" xD My horse does that a lot, as well as some really bad chipping xD Duncan is soo pretty!! (As well as all your horses) :]

  • Thank you! Haha

  • my horse trots to the jump , weaves like sayin ima jump it !! wait no yes no yes no yes eh nope !!!

  • Haha

  • How old is that horse? Lol, nice vid.

  • Which one?

  • Duncan is a beautiful horse! :)

  • Thank you! :)

  • you have REALLY good balance!!!!!! Dont let your horse(s) get away with refusing jumps. Immediately turn aroound and make that horse jump over it even if it's not pretty. then it'll know not to mess with refusing jumps again!

  • very good video :D my 2 ponys are so wild, too^^5*

  • heyy, i have a video response on this video, but its really old... so would you mind if i added a more recent one instead? :) x

  • Sure, go for it! :)

  • thanks :D

  • 1.50 is a beautiful horse!

  • your a good rider :) lovelyy horse :)

    check out my videos.

  • My horse is as wild as yours :D

didn't do what it should do ^^

    But you're a good rider (:

  • Thanks

  • Hahaha Duncan's jump over the crossrail...priceless.

  • hahaha 1:52. what a punk :)

  • riding is definetley a fantastic sport, my old loan pony was a night mare with constant vertical bucks lol, lost count how many times i've fallen off and broken stuff lol but how can you stop, when you love horses so much eh ?

  • 1.50 was completely adorable! my mare does that :-) hahhaha over jumping isProxy-Connection: keep-alive

    Cache-Control: max-age=0

    0pretty funny

  • I seriously laughed out loud at the second clip (kick out)

the other thing that cracks me up that the guy i nthe arena at 1:08 is wearing a hard hat... does that tell us something about you and your horse??is it dangerous to be in an arena with you guys?? HAHAHA great video i really enjoyed it :D

  • Haha, he's actually wearing a fishing-style hat to avoid sunburn on his ears. My instructor out in PA marches to the beat of his own fashion drum. :) That's actually his horse. Thank you.

  • OOOOHHHH haha i feel stupid now... haha well i do embarrassing things all the time so nothin new...it would be funny if he was wearing a hardhat though

  • nice lower leg and staying strong and secure through most everything. nice riding...and super cute horses :)

  • Thank you :)

  • omg. horse at 0:30 thats how m,y horse bucks hes sodumb he just completely slams on his forhand and rocks

  • 3 things i love:

    1.the bay and buckskin horse

    2.your secure lower leg!

    3.good video quality!

    keep it up!!

  • Thanks :)

  • Are those both your horses!!! they are soooo cute! The buckskin at 1:50 jumped really wierd, didn't look very comfortable! And what was up with the bay in the beginning tail, did he catch on something? TOOO CUTE

  • The bay is my mare, she was basically scalped by another horse--skin came off the bone. It was bad. The buckskin is my gelding, and this was like his first jump after I bought him. He's come a loonnnng way. :)

  • i think that it looks like you are expecting that horse to refuse the jump so you are not going into 2-point quick enough. that might be whats throwing him (or her) off

  • It's better to be a little behind the motion than ahead of it--where basic physics will work against you, especially if the horse grinds to a halt. If you're ahead, you're also increasing the chances of a refusal, given that you're putting extra weight on the front end. Of course, it is optimal to stay with the motion, but since a lot of the horses depicted here are green, it wasn't always easy for me to feel when (or if) the takeoff was coming. Please note the video title. ;)

  • just sayin it's not better to be ahead b/c then if u are left behind u usually catch them in the mouth. but i agree with you on the other stuff.

  • Of the two evils, it's better to be left behind. I know enough to feel if it's happening, and I'll throw the reins if I have to in order to avoid jamming on the horse's face.

  • i totally agree with you here dragonfly1030! instead of yanking on their mouth, you should drop the reins or back off of them!

its better to teach them release than pulling!they might start thinking that every time they go to that jump, their mouth will be pulled on! I saw that happen one time... and it wasnt pretty!

Also! i love the cow kick in the beginning!

  • Its better to get left behind, jumping ahead is the worst thing you can do.

  • i love the last pony!

  • what is the song

  • Oh gosh, I hate being bucked. At my old barn I was on this mare, oh goody for me, SHE WAS IN HEAT, and by my joyous luck two stallions were screaming at each other from inside and outside the barn. She was getting pissed of my antics and bolted and bucked and I fell. Oh but no, it didn't end there, she did it AFTER the same jump and I fell off. God I was so pissed, and so sore :[ lol

  • 0:38, that horse dose NOT like to jump!!!

  • I beg your pardon--you are looking at a string of errors deliberately edited together. Let the record show that poor judgment of distances on my part should not reflect on the aptitude of my horse. She lived for jumping, and she was SMART enough to know a bad approach when she saw one.

  • oh, im so sorry! i dident mean to affend you! sorry! oh, ok, well umm mabe he/she wasent readdy for some of those jumps, or something. im sooo sorry! i dident mean to affend you!

  • It's okay, I'm not offended--I just think it was more a reflection of miscalculations on my part than my horse...she loved jumping. :)

  • ok, ya, sorry again! i have just miss juged her!

  • Haha, I love the paint at the end.

  • i like dunken.... hes cute =]]

  • Thanks :)

  • lol at 1:50 ... i guess everyone has their special moments xD

  • Haha, special is a nice word choice for it! If they had a class called "vomiting over fences," I think we'd of taken the blue ribbon.

  • did the horse at 1:44 have boots on or striped legs?

  • Boots.

  • Its pretty cool

  • Cool vid! Have you your own horse, and how long has you ride? =)

  • Thank you. I have two horses, and I've been riding off and on my whole life. I didn't get serious about it until about six years ago.

  • wow super job staying on!

  • Thanks!

  • duncan is beautiful

  • Thank you :)

  • Heyy Omgg your soo good at riding! I've seen most of your other videos! Woww! I have been riding not for very long and I have yet to experience a fall haha. Im just starting jumping and I love it!! great job!!

  • Heh, it happens to most people eventually! Congrats on starting to jump! :) Thank you for your comment.

  • I love your buckskin, she is cute!

  • Thank you! It's a he, but that's okay! :)

  • WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how on earth did you sit those bucks?! I would come flying off - you must be really good to handle your horses like that!

  • Heh--full time enrollment in the School of Hard Knocks.

  • Hey you are a great rider. i no that im not perfect, and that i have bad days and when i fall or stuff up a jump it makes me a stronger rider. i have only been riding full on for 2 or 3 years and i have fallen off so many times.

  • Yeah, it happens to all of us! Thanks :)

  • This is really good I love it when people aren't all like omg I have the most perfect pony and it does everything right all the time yaya *aplaudes*

  • Haha, thank you! It's also important to point out that riders (myself included, as you see here!) are imperfect as well! :)

  • Yeah you can't always be right you have to make mistakes to improve and move on and get better =]

  • Nice seat. Really, you have very nice balance.

  • Thanks! :)

  • y wuld u go 2 a show when u cant even get ur horse 2 jump @ hme?

  • Why would you type a comment when you can't even spell "home"? Guess who's getting blocked for being a moron? :)

  • maybe the horse could have been having an off day or been spooked by the jump!

  • You mean, horses and people aren't perfect EVERY TIME they go to a show or enter a schooling ring? I'm sure this is a news flash to users like MegS109. ;)

  • um in my email box i got a youtube msg saying that you where saying you last comment to me! and i was trying to be nice, horses and people do have off days it happens to me! Ok, so you need to lay off!

  • I was agreeing with you. Horses AREN'T perfect, and neither are people! Apparently, MegS109 thinks everyone should be perfect all of the time. Re-read my comment. It is intentionally sarcastic towards what she said, and in agreement with what you said.

  • your 3'6" incident sounds like mine!! lol great video!

  • Thank you! :)

  • At 1:53 I love that horse so much! Lol! Its so beautiful!

  • Thanks!

  • Re-watched this video and love it as much as the first time.

  • Thank you, and thank you for the thoughts you shared in the comment thread here! :)

  • naughty ponies.

  • You're not a bad rider, however you need to keep your leg on. Some of these horses are taking advantage of your lack of leg. You seem to be low in the confidence area which is understandable, find a push button mount for a while to get your confidence back up. Keep up the good work!

  • I think your comment was very well-intended. These were just some of my less than fabulous moments. Your comment regarding me finding a push-button mount, however, just about put me on the floor hysterical. Most of the horses depicted here were very green at the time, and in some cases, VERY unpredictable. It was in my best interest to keep my butt in the tack and be a little behind the motion. I'm definitely not lacking confidence; nor am I lacking a sense of humor! :)

  • The fact that these horses are green therefore enforces the fact that you need to keep your leg on. If you're not lacking confidence than a green mount surely is.Horses look to their rider for encouragement and confidence and if it's not there they lose their own confidence and this is what happens.

Having saying that,I understand that riding a green mount is difficult, you're doing a fine job but i'm simply trying to offer some constructive criticism to help you improve your skills.

  • The underlying source of conflict here is that I'm not looking for criticism. In fact, I'm pretty sure I address that in the video description. This was just an ode to the less than finer moments that come along with working with green or inexperienced horses. If every moment you spend in the saddle is perfect, more power to you; I have a qualified trainer and, unless I ask (which I didn't), I seek no further advice. Thank you.

  • I don't think it's possible to offer constructive criticism based on a few brief video snippets, not knowing the horse or the circumstance. Even so, I certainly wouldn't take away from it that Dragonfly lacks confidence! Not after watching her cowboy-kick forward a horse threatening to rear.

  • As the title indicates, this is OBVIOUSLY her less than perfect moments. It seems silly to offer advice if that's the case. Maybe you should look at some of her newer videos before you pass judgement. Dragonfly has worked MANY green horses and knows how to handle them. If you haven't had moments like these, I'd assume you haven't ridden very much.

  • Aw ha I just switched school mounts. A push button pony to a flighty young throughbred, who used to be a race horse, and is trained to rear..It'll take me a LONG time before I become as experienced as him, and get used to his bolting/refusing etc. :)

But deep down, I love his attitude :P Makes me laugh and learn.

Great vid! Seriously if I ever get as good a seat as you, I will be ecstatic! (Bad balance+bad seat=Me, the faller :P).

  • Hey, it's the only way to learn! I'd be lying if I said I didn't take the occasional face-plant. Thanks for your comment, and good luck with the new mount! They are fabulous teachers in the school of hard knocks. :)

  • Fantastic video!

  • Thanks!

  • bleh, mares.

  • I still love this video although i have only just realised it was you (clip at 10 secs) in that video! i watched it ages ago before i found your channel! thats weird! and also this must be going back to when you first got duncan? i still love that jump :) you coped with it really well x

  • Yep, it's me--and yep, that was my first jump with Duncan! Hahaha, glad you enjoyed it!

  • that was great! lol i the buckskin is adorable! lol i could tell in these clips that you DO know how to ride and that those were just unlucky! great job with some tricky situations tho!!

  • Thank you! Fortunately, the buckskin (my guy, Duncan) has figured out how the whole jumping thing works. :) I appreciate your comment! :)

  • haha well thats nice hes figured it out! i love his trot going into the x! lol no prob for the comment!!

  • okay i love how people who don't even own horses or furthermore don't post videos of them riding feel free to make rediculous critiques(not to mention uneducated!). i have not had the chance to tape my own riding and post it and would never dream of saying anything negative to someone without giving the opportunity to see me and my horse in action...

btw... good for you for being brave enough to put this up and stand this criticism :)
