@XzeroX999 You're entitled to your opinion, but imo Roadblock was pretty much the best robot in series 1 even ahead of Mortis. it had fair speed for its time, the rear saw did reasonable damage (moreso in series 2), had a great driver and performed excellently in each of its rounds- completing the gauntlet with ease, shoving Shunt off in sumo and dominating against Nemesis, Killertron and everyone in the grand final.

@fpsScott A lot of people seem to say that, and I just can't see why. WASP? A-kill? Doctor Fist? Granny's Revenge? Cobra? Metalis? Shell Shock? BOD? They wouldn't stand a chance against the Robots here. Even Cunning Plan would run rings around them and win the Judges decision through aggression at least.

Btw they are hardly bad robots, I mean they were great for their time and every show has its roots.

@fpsScott Yeah you have a point there, Chaos 2 wouldnt have much trouble with these six, infact Robot the Bruce (The transparent cube) was actually George Francis' first Robot! What I mean was how you said that pretty much every robot from series 6 and 7 could beat them. Despite the standard of Robots getting better each series, there were still some terrible ones. I mean, Shell Shock had weak weaponry, a fibreglass shell, weighed 83 kilos and moved at about 5 mph. These robots would own it.

All the robots in this serioes looked so... bland. Most of those robots didn't seem to have an actual weapon. But then, I didn't watch Robot Wars until around series 3 so I was used to more weaponry

@lilwhiteboi339 Yep I have the VHS 'The First Great War' but there is so much cut out it's rediculous. They cut out the entire episode with the featherweights. I need to rip it though before the tape expires so maybe I can upload some bits. :)

Napalm, Plunderbird, Sir Chromalot, Suicidal Tendancies, Gemini, Little Fly and thers are always underestimated, despite ebign the champions of their day. In series three, Plunderstorm was predicated to win the Chapionship, and it would have defeated Thermidor, Spawn of Scutter and Pussycat.

Maverick was supposed to be stronger than Steg 2, but it suffered from weapon failure and we never got to see the flipper's true power because it was too small to be effective.

Hate to say it... but no it wouldnt of done. Plunderbird was a terrible robot. Pussycat would of eaten it for breakfast. Only ones I partially agree with on that list is Gemini really, the other robots sucked.

*Cunning Plan: TRACIE drove on top of it, but TRACIE was too heavy for Cunning Plan to move so it got stuck.

*TRACIE: Immobilised Cunning Plan, but its wheels got lifted off the ground, so both TRACIE and Cunning Plan got stuck.

*Recyclopse: Roadblock rammed into it, breaking Recyclopse's drive chain and immobilising it.

*Robot the Bruce: Drove up onto Roadblock, but fell off and got stuck on its side.

*Bodyhammer: Survived

*Roadblock: Won!

That thing is a spiky metal pyramid (Which was often used as an obstacle in the gauntlet and whatnot), and the pit wasn't introduced until series two. Instead, they had this grille which would immobilise robots if they drove onto it. They were right to introduce the pit.

The earlier ones were better because the bots were far more evenly matched (no superbots like Razer, Chaos 2, or Hypnodisk) and there weren't as many arena hazards. Granted, the battles were less destructive, but it was skill rather than the bots themselves that gave people victories.  In the later seasons everything came down to damage, so the bots who won were either the ones that did damage, or could push opponents into arena hazards.
