the good thing about steam locos is that if something goes wrong they can usually limp back/continue under their own steam. Modern trains tend to stop. I do agree that there seemed to be something wrong.
Blimey she sounds really rough on there. Sounds like a valve and timing problem to me. I was at the MHR some years ago when 35005 (in blue livery) was failed with a valve problem. She sounded like this.

She certainly did sound rough, sounds as though one of her cylinders are blowing by, resulting in the odd sounding exhaust beat.
