It's Mitch - the drum track is from the first session, which can be heard in it's original UNEDITED form on the "Jimi Hendrix Experience" 4-CD box set.
Loose Ends actually came out in February 1974, and it was only released in Europe. The record execs didn't think it was good enough for a U.S. release. This song was recorded at Electric Lady 7/14&15/70. What we're hearing is a sewn together version, the best of both nights attempts, and Jimi probably wasn't considering it finshed at the time of his death. This does have one of his best guitar solos I think though, great phrasing & Albert King influence.
I've never seen in the flesh a copy of Loose Ends with this cover. This one has the original Billy Cox bass track, right? Why on Earth someone would want to replace it, I just don't understand at all!

From ( Crash Landing) 1975. These songs of his later unreleased tracks were recorded late summer 1969. They all came a vault from his Estate.
