Pigs, for example, are just as intelligent as dogs, and feel pain just the same.. but i'll bet that most people protesting dog eating, would not hesitate to scarf down bacon with their cow-burgers. @kcryanful another point I'd like to make, you don't have to be in war to eat a dog, it's called availability and affordability, cattle isn't readily available in Asia, because farmers generally rely on them to work on farms, and cattle in Asia are more prone to diseases, dogs haven't always been domesticated and they have been a food source for a long time ( thousands of year) in parts of Asia AND other countries in the northern region. I do disagree with the way they slaughter dogs in china.

@kcryanful another point I'd like to make, you don't have to be in war to eat a dog, it's called availability and affordability, cattle isn't readily available in Asia, because farmers generally rely on them to work on farms, and cattle in Asia are more prone to diseases, dogs haven't always been domesticated and they have been a food source for a long time ( thousands of year) in parts of Asia AND other countries in the northern region. @DarkH0lic most Chinese people are really nice folks, plus they hate eating dog meat. There's only a few places that it's even legal - you'd be hard pressed to find this kind of stuff in nanjing road on Shanghai or in the middle of Beijing. Yea there's defs cultural differences, however even the government is doing ALOT to fix things such as dog slaughter. most people regardless of what country they are from hate to see any animal suffer.

@nataliemay7 thats commendable.i don't agree with animal torture at all.I do however,hunt pigeon occasionally as food for the table and vermin control,but this consists of a well placed shot to conclude the motive instantaneously.Are you a vegetarian? It's a fine line, this cycle of life and death.If we get a bug infestation in the home what do we do.....of course it all depends if the reason is genuine and what are the parameters of "genuine"??
