Russians copied the ME 262 off the Germans, just like the Allies copied the MG 42 to their own. And many, many other things as well. Helicopter etc etc.

My wife's uncle was a turret gunner in a B17, and he said they were scared to death of the ME262. The 262 was so fast, it could ignore the fighter screen of P51's and concentrate completely on the B17's. The only way the P51's could catch the 262, was for them to fly way above the bombers and when the 262's attacked, was to dive down from above, which briefly gave them enough airspeed to catch the 262.

The Spitfire did NOT won the war! The british airforce just had luck, because Hitler made the mistake and begun with fighting Russia! German airplanes were superior to the British ones just like the tanks

i believe the battle of britain occured before the nazis invaded russia.the spitfire did not win the war,but i believe it,and the hurricane certainly made a contribution.check your facts.

The Spitfire did indeed contribute, but was far from winning the war. In technical terms, the german planes were superior in almost any aspect... but the planning of the war against GB was inferior. Attacks on civil targets instead of production facilties and airfields as well as total ignorance concerning radar left enough time for the RAF to recover from their losses and strike back in mass

Yes you're right but the Germans always attacked factories and not only public buildings or stuff like that. The British propaganda just used for example the destruction of the Conventry for their own aims^^

And the Battle of Britain failed, because Göring was no tactical blessed General, that was the problem of the Luftwaffe and not the airplanes

The Battle of Britain was lost for the Germans due to poor tactics. The first half consisted of Germany concentrating on air fields and radar stations and at a certain point the British airforce was as good as dead. Then something happened. One probably wanted more "visible, tangible" results?? For some reason the Luftwaffe started bombing cities which was completely useless in a battle for air control. This resulted in loss of aircraft during useless bombing and saved the Britsih Airforce.

@Efteling4Ever Hitler wanted to attack the Cities after Britain attacked Berlin because one German bomber formation missed their target and accidentally attacked London. It were (like in Russia) mainly Hitlers decisions who leads Germany into its disaster. Finally sometimes I'm not sure what would have been better if Germany won and Hitler gets killed by the German resistance or well.. what actually happend.. lol

This was a good airplane. To see another good plane check out the Spitfire and all the people who adore it. The Spitfire won the war. Loads of patriotic and romantized comments about it.

Americans tested captured Me262s as well.And they tested captured V2 rockets in USA to catch up on rocket science.Werner von Braun was transported to the USA and helped the spaceprogram.Russian fighter ace Ivan Kotzchedub downed one Me262 with his Lavochkin La7.The victors of WW2 took what they could from the germans.

...don't quite follow you. The Soviets had their own jet fighter designs at the same time, that simply weren't implemented like the Germans did...it's pretty obvious that it was a jet fighter/fighter-bomber.
