  • aww there isn't any express service until next year in the fall! if they don't finish the project on time, i'll will explode!!!! The B train was one of the quickest express services in brooklyn even though those trains have R68's. I think the B train should also be express in upper manhattan as central park west express because the D train is slower than the B train!

  • @Fendy4eva The B was quicker with 60fters, now that sorry excuse of 75fters is ruining the B line making boring and dull and as for the B making express stops via Central Park West that's never going to happen!

  • @JamaicaQnzFreak yes i know, i hate the D train though, when you take the D train via Central park west exp, it takes forever to skip those 7 local stops between columbus circle, 59th street and 145th street and the A train is also so slow! the R40's shall get on the B line again. however, i heard that there are still a few R32's on the B train.

  • We pass Edward R. Murrow High School at 2:13.

  • Okay!

  • beautiful video! once you told me you had this i ran to it!

  • LOL.....thanks!

  • Pause the video at 4:37, something don't look right.

  • Okay the R-40M had a D rollsign in the front!

  • Actually, I honestly think that was an orange Q sign.

  • Thanks for the great mind excursion back in time. I used to ride this line all the time. Haven't been on it since 1976.

  • Your welcome. Thank you for enjoying my video!

  • dirty track with alot of debree but i think it should be safe since nyc subway is slow

  • Great vid! Sure is a lot of vegetation on the tracks, overhanging trees, etc. Looks cool but if there's a big storm doesn't this cause a problem? Shorting out the 3rd rail, branches on the tracks, etc.?

  • Thank you and yes the overhanging trees causes a problem during a rainstorm!

  • cool video,

  • Thank you!

  • I'm surprised there's no warning tone prior to the door closing; from my experience all of the B trains I've seen have had them. I wonder if it was an equipment sub from another line (C, E, etc.) or if I just missed it.

  • What warning tone?

  • The ding-dong (Westminster chimes) before the doors close, as on the A, etc.

  • Oh ok....now I know what your talking about!

  • its an old train car, they dotn have them until the R44s and higher come ut.

  • The R-44 will be retiring soon....I don't know when though!

  • It will retire until the arrival of the R179s,in 2012 latest!

  • I don't get it :S

  • Sheepshead Bay Station looks like it could use a good dose of Roundup.

  • LMAO!

  • slants are going soon, but im glad because honestly, it's easier to film a rail fan window video on an R40M than an R40. i can see you finally invaded my turf.

  • Yes I'm going to take over your turf....lol j/k. I been wanted to film on the R-40S on the Brighton Line and Monday I had the opportunity to do. All I need is few more pics of the Slants, but I'm going to be sad that they are going to retire the Slants!

  • i certainly wouldn't. those slants are in really bad shape and can't stay around for much longer. the R40Ms, however, are still good and i hope they remain on the B because without them, the Brighton Express will not be very fun as the R68/68As are among the slowest cars in the system.

  • I'll railfan on the R-40M B train from Harlem to The Bronx soon. You are right about the R-68's being slow, I dread taking the D train going express via Concourse that sucka was slow. The 6 train going express via 138th Street/Southern Blvd is faster than the D train!

  • both of our turf cuz its mine too as long as yours.

  • You're right about the Railfan window with the R40M being easier to film with, theres a few decent sets of Slants and they're just getting rid of them. They should save like 5 sets of the best R40s.

  • Wow, slants are only on the A now and dying fast D:

  • That's why I'm trying to get some Slants vids b4 they go!

  • Slant 40's are all gone, the last of them were cut up at 207 yd. There are a few 2 car sets remaining at Rock Park Yard and East NY Yard. They are to be used by School Car for training probie T/o's

  • I know....I rode last set on the A last month!

  • there are probably 8 R46 sets on the A now, the 46 will replace the 44's before the 179s get there. ALso, The R will be the next ot get the R160 after the F lie receives their alloted set.

  • Lawd I can't stand them R-46's POS just like the R-44's. I'm glad the F line got R-160's and I can't wait for the R to get them as well!

  • I love to operate the 46's tho, tons of room. I will miss them as they get transfered to the North

  • Wait I think I remember your handle name....did you commented on my vid....the R-160A-2 F testing @ Broadway-Lafayette Street?

  • Are you sure the R train is going to R160 cars because it's a very slim chance that the R train will get R160's. They mostly have R46's. Oh by the way, nice video dude.

  • Thanks!

  • That was the plan. RIght now they're focusing on extending the V to Metropolitan Ave via the Crystie cut instead of terminating at 2nd ave. M's will remain on the weekend to provide myrtle to met shuttle service. the new V service will be shortened to 8 cars, and will be 8 car 160's and propably the last few sets of 32's and 42's. Also, I heard of the chance of them taking off a link bar and turning a 5 car set into 4. I think the R will get 160's tho, all CTL switchmen have been 160 qualified

  • Well this is good news to hear. I'll be happy to see R-160's on the R and V lines!

  • @brettfavreforever4 right now, they have discontinued the V train and lengthened the M train's route to Forrest Hills. I dont know why they did that cuz Metropoliatan Av and Forrest Hills are very close in distance

  • Nice video I made a video on the B Train but in the back window don't worry you'll see it soon. by the way which B Train was you on. R40 or R40M.

  • Thank you....can't wait to see it and I'm on a R-40S!

  • o o.k and your welcome

  • Ahh yes this is the part I've been waiting for... Really nice video C-Dawg. Love the way it sounds when going express in Brooklyn, almost seems like it's gliding instead of being on rails like a Mag-Lev. Not many NYC tracks are as smooth as this.

  • Thank you.....I'm so glad that we caught the Slants in Manhattan and yes the ride was real smooth!
