I'm not so sure these tips are tips... not all cameras will have your camera's features. I really suggest you invest in a DSLR. They can be really cheap these days compared to new point and shoots and still deliver better image quality. Look, I'm the last person to defend stupid clunky DSLRs (I'm hoping with the next 5 years, DSLRs will disappear in favour of mirrorless cameras) but I am an ardent advocate of cameras with manual controls.

Hopefully soon. :) And, the tips are what I mentioned about backlight, paying attention to what's in the background, I briefly touched on composition, and a few other things... Most point-and-shoot camera have (or had... my camera is 2+ years old now) the same basic shooting features, so I just explained the ones on my camera. And, I agree, I enjoy the manual controls.

Photography is easy if you have $50,000 worth of gear, I have seen 10 year old`s take pro looking photos with high end gear. I respect anyone who has a go with a budget camera.

@SuperMangn Nah, photography is not just about gear. It is to a certain extent, but give a D3S to a 10 year old and ask him to shoot like Richard Avedon or Robert Frank and no matter how much he or she "lowers the aperture" and gets "good bokeh" he or she will not reproduce images like the masters. Despite what people think, there is a soul to photography as with any art.

@MobiusCoin I mean just bog standard so called pro photographers today. Did you know that many of them dont even edit their own work. You can pay pro photoshopers to make the image good enough to sell. The real pictures that they took might be no better than an average teen takes.

@MobiusCoin I think there's truth in both of your arguments. If I had really expensive equipment, then the quality of my images would look especially great (assuming the focus was correct). People who don't know much about art would consider it to be a wonderful photo. However, I feel that artists are born with an eye for creating. So, even if an artist has a "crappy" camera, the composition will look nice.

Thanks soo much! I think I have the same camera, well sort of, as you and could NEVER figure out what all the settings meant! I have a Nikon Coolpix L22. But, Oh My Gosh! It runs off of batteries and they die SOO QUICKLY!! And before they die, the camera gets all slow and blurs all my pictures! Ahh, does yours do that too? And if so, do you know what to do?! Yet i want great great photos :) now please give me lots of tips to bring life to my pictures. As i cant see colors in them(since i cant capture RAW :'( ) I want to capture wonders. Please guide.

@smnoumanib Hi there. :) First of all, save your photos in the highest quality possible. For very sharp images, use natural lighting and a tripod. Composition is also a very important aspect of a great photograph. Try looking up such tips on Google as "the rule of thirds" && "leading lines". Also, read some books on photography. There are so many tips to learn! I couldn't possibly list them all here nor do I know of the complete list. Good luck shooting and have fun! ~Sarah

The camera is a tool. Learn to use it, and if you use it properly you can make amazing pictures. :)

free software I recommend is paint.net It have a lot stuff in there that are advance. Again it's a tool, learn to use it and U can do amazing things with it. If it's not amazing, well.. it's not the tool's fault so guess who's fault it is. LOL

@wizardlover1998 Hey! I'm glad it helped! =] The first option would be to get a remote for your video camera, and the second option - which is what most people do - is to use video editing software to edit out the part that shows you getting up to turn the camera off at the end.

Seriously, I can tell you have a passion for photography. If you're able to, go get yourself an entry level DSLR. You could get a second-hand one for $200 and don't worry about it being second-hand, once you get the buzz from setting your camera yourself (instead of letting your camera make your decisions for you) and getting awesome shots instead of "getting lucky", you'll want the next step up.

Im buying glass beads and the size is 4mm, i need elastic to go with that so, the elastics size is 0.8mm would that fit in the bead?

@Ajadorable18584 Yes. Clear stretch cord, right? But, it will only fit through each bead once, so if you're planning to do any double strand stuff, you'll need a lower number in string.
