@MMAC0RE o ok, i'm waiting for my interview and medical for the Marines at the moment I passed my phycometric tests on wednesday. Some of the infomation in these videos are different from what i have been told by Royal Marines in person, i just wish i knew about everything i am going to go through if i get passed the PRMC
are you sure? because last month is was doing a Royal Marines look at life course at the CTCRM in lympstone and the press up test i did wasnt to a tape.
At CTCRM Lympstone you have to go down so ur body touches the other guys fist.. Your partner on the floor is counting, and he has to look away. So if you don't go low enough, then that press up won't be counted..
When you're doing these press ups should your elbows be in contact with your sides?
How close should your elbows be to your rib cage about? I can only do 30-40 at the moment but when I'm doing I keep contact with my elbows and sides, am I doing them wrong?
@HYNRG You should be aiming to keep them close just so that you isolate your triceps but dont be forcibly pulling your elbows in to the extent that they press up against you and restrict movement. Just so that its comfortable (well as comfortable as a press up can be). They should be around the same distance away as when your arms are just by your sides when stood up.
On the actual PRMC are the press ups done to a bleep machine if so how fast are the bleeps? i was thinking of using a guitar metronome to keep in time if you know what i mean.
This is an exaggeration. You're not supposed to go that low. You just have to go a little below 90 degrees with your arms, meaning when your arm is parallel to the ground. And you never go up all the way straight locking your elbows to 180 degrees. You just have to go really close to it. Perhaps 175 degrees with your arms.
@TaTenThinh Check the difference. Some people do it so there chest just touches the ground. The military likes to make things more difficult to push their applicants.
@onislayer7 I agree that some people do go down really low to the point that their chest just touches the ground. I also see a lot of videos of military people barely even going to 90 degrees with their arms. This guy's form is actually not that good. His elbows are flaring out and he should widen his grip a bit more.
did you mean the guy on the right? because the guy on the left is clearly doing press ups. the guy lay on the floor on the right has made a fist and is counting the press ups, the person doing the press ups has to make sure his chest touches the fist other wise the press up wont be counted.
0:26 looks like how they fall over on family guy :D
