I've been playing WoW since the beta and yeah, blizz has lost there way. The game has turned into a cash-cow thats being milked to death whilst robert kotick rides on its back and whips it. @theDefiantGamer Yes don't worry about needing to play the first. As Gw2 takes place 250 years into the future, many things have changed. And some scenes in the game will give a summary of past events anyways.

Hey I've played wow for years since nilla. Guildwars 2 By Far makes wow look like shit. Wow is just 1 big repeditive show, it gets boring as hell....thats why i quit. was 10/13 heroic in cata content but its just boring!!! This is a change I'm def looking forward to. I have alot of pull on my old server so we will see what happens.
@theenumba1 I think WoW needs to release an expansion that provides a massive graphics update. It seems so cartoony to me. Seeing that all these videos have been released years ago I really hope that this game comes out by Dec. 2011

Wow feels like one big rick roll and this game i would buy just for the artwork. The detail in design is epic and you cant find one single copy pasted skin, creature, building or area in it. You can see they learned allot from Guild Wars 1, they listened to there fans and they will be kicking ass when it releases. Lets hope it will be soon. Finally a game that understands what players want.

@ajaydavgun ArenaNet had given their word that we'd never pay fees for their games as it's one of their main philosophies that gamers should never have to buy a game they already bought. So just like the original GW games, Gw2 will never have a fee. Their fans will be able to buy things from their in-game store for aesthetic purposes or just to support the company. They also have books that involve the lore of GW or artwork.
This isn't just another company; their words are trusted by actions.
@LeonZapphire arena net has their own way of making you pay monthly. What they do is release an expansion about every 6-7 months. Which means your paying about 120$ a year, which adds up to 10$ a month, cuz i can count :) i think this is a MUCH better way to keep your fans money coming in, why pay every month for a game you already own? Arena net definitely as their shit together lol :P

While the 3 main campaigns are stand-alone games that don't require the other two in order to play (meaning nobody was forced to buy). Only Eye of the North needed either of the 3 other games in order to play it. And these games were not released that close in time after one another.

Factions was released, april 28, 2006, nightfall was released october 27, 2006, and eye of the north was released august 31, 2007, yeah im off by a month or two. But from a marketing point of view, those few months are irrelevant when your selling about 2 million copies of each expansion

Well from this trailer the game seems to capture that 'huge epic world' feel(But the lore is a little silly imo and could use some work) But if it wants to succeed and become popular it needs a)good end game content which can hopefully appeal to both hardcore and casuals b)A reason to explore the world(maybe for example, certain bosses that spawn somewhere within the world) c)Some competition going on between guilds and d) It's needs what everquest did best. Satisfaction in achievment.
What I don't understand is why there is so my hatred. I play both Guild Wars and WoW. Both have their unique differences. both have things that draw people to them. Play what you wish to, and be happy. Enough said. I started with GW's and will always be a long time player. I have played both games for years, since they were in Beta mind you. I enjoy both.
To be honest, I don't want GW2 to Shadow WoW too bad, then all the players from WoW will come over and destroy this pristine community. So let them stay. PLEASE.
The one key facto ArenaNet will have over Blizzard all the time is the fact that they care enough about their players to make a game that's an old friend seem like something completely new. Blizzard just releases some new add on that just adds +5 levels a new map and you're forced into buying it and the support is crap. I was easily able to recover my old Guild wars account that's probably about 3 years old maybe 4. With WoW I'd probably have a better chance making a new one. Than to recover it.

I've been playing WoW since the beta and yeah, blizz has lost there way. The game has turned into a cash-cow thats being milked to death whilst robert kotick rides on its back and whips it. (funny image I know.) All in all you would have to be some pretentious, ignorant a-hole to say GW2 is going to be bad. The first GW itself isn't all that bad either, I can could go on about how bad WoW's playerbase has gotten, or the gameplay. I'd be a broken record, lets hope WoW sorts itself out or dies.

@theDefiantGamer Yes don't worry about needing to play the first. As Gw2 takes place 250 years into the future, many things have changed. And some scenes in the game will give a summary of past events anyways.

Wow feels like one big rick roll and this game i would buy just for the artwork. The detail in design is epic and you cant find one single copy pasted skin, creature, building or area in it. You can see they learned allot from Guild Wars 1, they listened to there fans and they will be kicking ass when it releases. Lets hope it will be soon. Finally a game that understands what players want.

@ajaydavgun ArenaNet had given their word that we'd never pay fees for their games as it's one of their main philosophies that gamers should never have to buy a game they already bought. So just like the original GW games, Gw2 will never have a fee. Their fans will be able to buy things from their in-game store for aesthetic purposes or just to support the company. They also have books that involve the lore of GW or artwork.
This isn't just another company; their words are trusted by actions.

Which means your paying about 120$ a year, which adds up to 10$ a month, cuz i can count :) i think this is a MUCH better way to keep your fans money coming in, why pay every month for a game you already own? While the 3 main campaigns are stand-alone games that don't require the other two in order to play (meaning nobody was forced to buy). Only Eye of the North needed either of the 3 other games in order to play it. And these games were not released that close in time after one another.

Factions was released, april 28, 2006, nightfall was released october 27, 2006, and eye of the north was released august 31, 2007, yeah im off by a month or two. But from a marketing point of view, those few months are irrelevant when your selling about 2 million copies of each expansion

Over the course of those years, you payed as much as you would have for a game on 1 year. But over time people funded ArenaNet through means of the store for aesthetic items. And you know how much people love those. o_O; lol

Well from this trailer the game seems to capture that 'huge epic world' feel(But the lore is a little silly imo and could use some work) But if it wants to succeed and become popular it needs a)good end game content which can hopefully appeal to both hardcore and casuals b)A reason to explore the world(maybe for example, certain bosses that spawn somewhere within the world) c)Some competition going on between guilds and d) It's needs what everquest did best. Satisfaction in achievment.

The one key facto ArenaNet will have over Blizzard all the time is the fact that they care enough about their players to make a game that's an old friend seem like something completely new. Blizzard just releases some new add on that just adds +5 levels a new map and you're forced into buying it and the support is crap. I was easily able to recover my old Guild wars account that's probably about 3 years old maybe 4. With WoW I'd probably have a better chance making a new one. Than to recover it.

lol as if you'd play wow i played that game for an hour and was bored with it already, i watched my best mate play it and he is fully geared with pvp armor and max level and i still find it boring the game is out dated and lame, you can choose to play lame games with playdough graphics, i choose to play an even better game where i wont spend countless days grinding the one enemy to level up.
