It was cut for U.S. audiences as the distributors/censors felt certain scenes between Leon and the young girl were too sensitive for American audiences... which is why I say, us, the rest of the world that got the full version... I find that interesting as a comment on the US film industry while at the same time sad they miss a vital part of the film... that's all. It has to be one of my all time favourite movies. The menacing character of Gary Oldman is just wonderfully done.

One of my favourite movies.

I find one of the saddest moments of the film is when she ends up at Tony's at the end, the part where both her and Tony's emotions are running high and Tony (Danny Aiello) shouts at her; shouting his dead and she just bursts into tears.

They both just look so gutted, you almost want to cuddle her where she looks so helpless.
