"CCHR's views on psychiatry are a reflection of the position held by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, whose writings express very strong opinions against psychiatry.[6][7] CCHR advocates that there is no biological evidence to support psychiatric theories of mental disorders."
Governments have to be the biggest buyers of these drugs. Risperdal Consta, the version of the antipsychotic drug for FORCED injection, sold $1.3 billion for Johnson&Johnson in 2008 -- and that's just ONE company making it. No one in their right mind would go over the counter to order a shot of Risperdal; It has to be the government. A government psychiatrist tells my friend, "if you don't accept a shot every month, I won't give you social subsidies."
This is another example showing how GOVERNMENTS can do harm to the public, even on a colossal scale. In Hong Kong (where I live) the government forces patients to take these meds and public psychiatrists use the law as an excuse to apply the drugs to otherwise normal people. The corruption goes undetected because big pharma companies hire the decision makers to do fake work despite the conflict of interest. It's probably happening all over Asia and the world.
This is a great documentary. Given that the dishonest psy drug industry is making billions and the experts in this video chose not to collude with them, they deserve some reward.
@TheKookOfKong There are underlying causes for depression that begin in the psyche. Drugs are not always the answer. 'Audits' are not the answer either.
If you watch this and go 'omg drugs are bad, yay scientology', you missed the entire point. The point of the documentary is to expose the abuses from the pharmaceutical companies. It's ultimately up to the consumer to make their stand.
There is nothing in this film that endorses or directs someone to the church of scientology. Nothing.
So these people go to work the next day to their "industry of death" job after libeling the hell out of it and don't get fired? (minus the guy who said he resigned in the video) Does anyone else smell the hypocrisy? I know everyone wants to live a comfortable material life, but.....is it a culture thing to have vain self reflections, then what is the point? the kids gave me hope for the future if they don't turn into what they rebel against.
Once again, thanks for putting this up. the CCHR may be a Scientology-backed organization but they make such valid points when it comes to these drugs
I am going to be giving a speech in one of my classes advocating against these drugs and I hope seeing this docu will give me the courage to do it. thanks.
Yes, Scientology is dangerous but that doesn't take away the fact that psychiatrists are scumbags. This is a great film. Too bad Scientologists can't do an expose on themselves.
I'm so glad my parents were into biological medicine and not clinical drugs... I wish people would wake up on all the harmful drugs doctors are prescribing.

WARNING!
This "documentary" is propaganda by THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY!
The "Citizens Commission on Human Rights" is a FRONT ORGANIZATION OF SCIENTOLOGY.
A quote from CCHR.ORG: "CCHR was co-founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology"
Why is the Church of Scientologu so down on psychiatrists? Because they believe they can cure any mental problems by joining their cult!
Please, research it yourself!

The coffers of the richest antisocial child drugging psychiatrists should be raided and all given entirely to CCHR.

Good docu, but it could be compressed into just 10 minutes.
The moral of the story is: don't use state approved drugs.

Lets be realistic. Anyone who thinks they can solve life's problems by taking a pill is a wishful thinking. There are no shortcuts.

"Industry of Death" might be a little strong.
But I agree something should be done.
Thanks for opening our eyes about this.
