  • That Fran PoonSend!

  • On the other hand, if CNN had no interest in offering a platform to opposing viewpoints, why would they pit a brilliant spokesman like Glenn Greenwald against 2 airheads? It is good to be aware of the biases present or hidden, and I imagine there is a possibility that the entire behind the scenes crew are not all airheads with no variation of opinion. Sometimes the biggest battles are not televised and they go on backstage.

  • @8Marx8 I worked in broadcast and local news for awhile and met a few courageous journalists who managed to do some things behind the scenes. I also participated in world events that were badly reported from every conceivable viewpoint. Everybody has a bias and a blindspot. Nothing compares with your own point of view. There's professional rivalry that can sour things. Media as an industry isn't much different from hospitals. You go to the emergency ward because you're desperate.

  • @VJnumber1

Again I disagree! I beleive there is objective truth! The invasion of Iraq is agresion no matter which eye is looking! Unless that eye is deliberately closed or looking elsewhere! Independent media for the most part has no stake in shaping news unlike mainstream who are serving imperialist powers and coorporate interest! There is nothing "natural" about world afairs! It is a social production that emerges from certain relations of production attributed to Capitalism!

  • @8Marx8 There are degrees of objectivity possible, and the ladies seem to have missed the boat by more than a few minutes. I have no idea what you think I am saying though. Disagree? Disagree about what with who? I assume you mean me since you addressed your comment to me. I don't support the war in Iraq, or anywhere either.

  • To @CNN Please do propaganda more subtly PLEASE, I know you are trying to steal viewers from Fox, but... come the fuck on.

  • Greenwald w/ these newsbunnies - hilarious. GG is tough on the fact free, they probably won't be inviting him back to play anytime soon.

  • @FeelFreeToArgue ha ha ha! "newsbunnies". I am adding that to my vocabulary, very descriptive.

  • Hey Yellin, how many corporate execs did you have to blow off to become the propagandist that you are?

  • We all are so proud of our freedom of speech, and then we stand by and do nothing as a man is attacked and locked up for merely expressing his free speech without breaking a single law?? We need to stop letting mass media outlets do the thinking for us because, as is very evident here, they have become corrupted. Why is she so against Assange? Since when is it ok for any reporter to take a side in a case that has not been decided in court yet? Think about it. ...and Listen to NPR.

  • FREE ASSANGE!!!

  • The moderator is so out-classed by Greenwald that it's embarrassing to watch.

  • Mr. Greenwald made many great points. The anchor lady is so biased I thought I was watching Fox News. I wondered if the anchor just pretends to be a lieing bitch to give Mr. Greenwald a lively springboard, because it did almost work like that. The other lady was a really bad liar too.

  • @8Marx8 LOL.Why do you assume I make assumptions? I personally do not assume that everybody at any organization is a 100% obedient marionette with no possibility to think for themselves. There are some common denominators as you go up the pyramid, but the level of willful stupidity is not identical. The opposition can also be ill informed or defining the opposition arbitrarily. That's why first hand experience is so valuable to add into the mix, and debate helps reveal new possibilities.

  • Bitches try to frame the argument...and FAIL.

  • 4:33- Greenwald gave Yellin that good three-piece.

  • Good trick! People have rights to know those information such as soldiers murdering people. Anybody has rights to tell everybody about it.

  • LOL that woman seriously needs to take her head out of her arse - she works for a government that asks people to snitch on criminals yet when the bradley mannings get that information for "information holder/distributor" like assange - their called terrorists?! and if that womans head remained out her arse long enough maybe she'd realise ALL the money hes "making" is going to runnin the website and fightin the cases

  • @Daggl3 Bradley Manning is our hero. Thanks for mentioned about him.

  • @beancube2010 readin about him i have the utmost respect for him regardless of whether hes classed a threat or security risk - the man did innocent men women and children justice - something that seems scarce in "the administration/system" that is - its a shame he really has to suffer and has suffered so much - especially when morally, ethically, and every other sense he did the right thing - he not only exposed a corrupt government he was protecting millions of civillians hes a true hero

  • CNN, this is exhibit A of why you don't invite Glenn Greenwald on your shows to talk. He will kick your ass.

  • Fran, your mother and father committed a crime when they procreated a big mouth, ignoramus creature such as you!

  • The title of this video is the problem. For journalism to be shameful it has to be journalism. CNN is topical entertainment. They are peddlers of products and their powerful political and corporate buddies, whom Assange inconvenienced by showing their shady dealings. This will be remembered as the Kristallnacht era of journalism in America. Democracy has ended.

  • He smacked Fran whatever her name is over the head... lol that was messed up how he sonned those two women..

  • Glen Greenwald is my homeboy!!!

  • to say that these women are stupid is beside the point. they live in a corporate bubble & are not used to someone as informed, articulate & credentialed as greenwald calling them on their false premises & misinformation. the bile from the bush pimp is to be expected. that the other is a journalist for CNN reflects badly on them.

if CNN was actually in the news business instead of being a mouthpiece for the govt & corp sponsors they would hire assange & greenwald & fire this bimbo.

  • Poor Glenn... It's like he's talking to a couple dogs.

  • Blondy got owned! Ownage was served

  • OMG, this is outrageous!

  • Greenwald is the only smart one ther

  • Greenwald does a great job here. He disarms the bubble heads. Especially the host. What a cockup.

  • @bbuc1 Those two sure do give credence to the idea that blonds have no brains. Sigh, and they don't even know how stupid they are.

  • Maybe his goal is to stop the murder? Blondie in the middle hasn't got a brain in her head. Guess she doesn't need one when it is all fed to her. Shameful.

  • What a shame.

  • The quasi-journalists are twisting the facts 180 degrees and omitting the basics, typical embedded "assets." Just by speaking with them, Glenn gives them credibility they lack. I'll bet he was tempted to walk but decided to let them make fools of themselves. They did a thorough job of it. Their type usually do.

  • @asynkronos

precisely! these foolish tarts were incapable to debate at glenn's level from the very beginning.

  • CNN is embarrassing itself. They are outraged that Wikileaks actually has the guts to speak truth to power - something CNN is too cowardly to follow in order to keep access to politicians.

  • American intellectual community is a fraud. MSM and their 'experts' are hypocrites and lapdogs of the state

  • This is exactly what is wrong with America, fran townsend was told that as long as you do not work for the U.S govt it is not a crime to leak classified information, at 11.05 she says it again. I'm sorry i'm all for freedom of speech but what i am not for is freedom of lies, people actually listen to this lying piece of crap. These scum have an evil agenda and they don't care about lying to get what they want. Glenn greenwauld is a star!!!

  • this lawyer a socilist ands cnn is too becuase they promote it by having him on, this guy's a complete idiot protecting a saboteur. were tuaght to embrace others opinions maybe weve gone too far

  • Why oh why does anyone give people like these 2 bimbo's creditability by putting them on the t.v? They made false claim after false claim and thought they could claim that assange was breaking the law in front of a lawyer no less. As if we didn't know already that these so called t.v pundits just make up lies for the sake of it. It looks like fox news has a new best buddy. Glenn greenwald i salute you sir.

  • Do you see any irony in the fact that her husband spanks his wife?

  • Why does anybody even try and take on Greenwald anymore. I mean journalists and TV people-- I imagine government officials could meet him as equals but the lame stream media who think they are IT because they're on TV or have bylines in national magazines, get clobbered every single time. One reason is he is prepared like every discussion is a final. They've faked it so long they think they can do it with anybody. They think Glenn is just some blogger and next thing they know they're lunch.

  • wow! He completely owned them

  • Dumb bitch 'FRAN' I guess wasn't listening to CONSTITUTIONAL LAWYER Glenn Greenwald when he pointed out Assange had not committed any "crime," so FRAN continues to call him and what he did a "crime."

  • WOW. they'll be feeling that one for days. i don't think either cnn woman made a single point that wasn't immediately crushed. i felt embarrassed FOR them!

  • Glenn fucking destroyed them.

  • is this real?

    this looks like the wochenschau

  • @hansbo11 No, Wochenschau propaganda was consistent and planned by intelligent persons. These news media agitators are just a slap in the face. "What is his ultimate goal depite..."

  • It is a SHAME! A SHAME!

  • Haha..go Glenn!! Give it to them.

  • Man I can't believe ordinary people aren't offended by the way Assange is being attacked. He risks his ass to expose collusion, deceit and war crimes being committed by political elites and all whores like these two on CNN can focus on is .... "but he wasn't GIVEN those documents by the criminals he's exposing!!!!" ..... um a) are you fucking insane and b) who exactly are your loyalties reserved for?

  • The truth sure smells awful, doesn't it Fran?

  • 08:52 what a stammering answer!

  • others, OF COURSE, disagree vigorously.

  • stupid bush woman. Glenn killed them.

  • Women journalists are so annoying when they use the corporate government's point of view. There's not much difference between them and prostitutes. I even prefer prostitutes after seeing this shameless journalism!

  • What also really bothers me about this piece, is Jessica Yellen's overactive framing of the discussion.

For instance, Julian Assange is referred as a hacker (he has been, but wikileaks has nothing to do with hacking) - it confers an 'air' of illegality on him without accusing him of a concrete crime.

He has 'followers', as if he is some kind of religious guru - like Jim Jones? He is 'a revolutionary' - like Che Guevara? He is out to 'embarass the American government' ?

  • @tigerone1970

You now know the meaning of the once-and-former motto, "This is CNN."

Yellin is a fool, but she's par for the course. She has actually admitted to representing her producers' agenda on air, at least she admitted that I suppose, but her credibility should be nil even before watching this piece.

She came from MSNBC, is now on CNN, and soon enough will be on FOX. The other woman, just a shill, notice how neither she nor Yellin cite anything sans nationalist Biden rhetoric.

  • its a shame how the US laws works: guilty until proven innocent, and if is innocent, make a new law so is guilty.

first find someone you don't like, and then find a law or make a law so you can charge him.

  • Jessica Yellen: "Julian Assange once wrote a blog post. The more secretive an organisation is, the more leaks induce fear and parnoia. So in other words, he should, it would seem, expect exactly the reaction he's seen. He should expect the government to come after him, right? And he should also be preparet d to go to jail for what he's done, as other revolutionaries have, right? "

Since when does the US government come after people 'because of their beliefs'?? How is this acceptable?

  • I love how they use the phrase "The Robin Hood of hacking", proposing that 1) Julian Assange is a THIEF as Robin Hood is, and 2) that Julian Assange HACKED the government computers to get the information.

Reality: Bradley Manning send the documents to Wikileaks anonymously.

  • The more CNN mimics Fox News, the less credibility it has.

  • Joe Biden: "He's made it more difficult for us to conduct our business with our allies and our friends."

Especially when friendly governments are headed by war criminals, like Paul Kagame. But of course Paul Kagame is 'a friend of ours' (to paraphrase Al Pacino in Donnie Brasco). When the ICC in The Hague decides to indict Kagame, Paul Kagame doesn't go to The Hague, the prosecutor in The Hague loses her job.

    Glenn Greenwald for Attorney General!

  • These fucktards must've sucked a whole lotta cawk to get their jobs- they clearly haven't a clue what's going on.. Ha Ha, just listen to the stupid bitches

  • "Embarrassing the US government" as WL's goal? Perhaps she overlooked the fact that WikiLeaks has leaked documents from all sorts of other countries as well?

As for redacting, WikiLeaks has reviewed and redacted sections of documents, and even went the the extent of offering the DoD the chance to review them beforehand so that information that could be particularly damaging can be kept out of the public's hands.

  • Yessica Yellin is HOT........ I love her.

  • Glenn Greenwald makes the mistake of thinking that CNN is in the business of journalism. They're in the business of broadcasting - usually the corporate government's point of view.

They do mainly uninformed or misleading opinion, like this political operative he is up against.

  • @tigerone1970 Doesn't take a conspiracy for this to take place. It is the "norm" in a system like this.As naom chomsky told a journalist once "I know you believe in everything you are saying because if you don't you won't be sitting where you're sitting"!! You have to be brainwashed and indoctrinated into the narrative for the empire long before you even make it to the halls of elitist media!

  • I have watch this four time to see if I could find an excuse for CNN……..I failed!
