cool. what kind of drum set and cymbals are those ? Are you using triggers ? The last set I had was a pearl export series and I'm looking for something ultra portable and acoustic.
cool. what kind of drum set and cymbals are those ? Are you using triggers ? The last set I had was a pearl export series and I'm looking for something ultra portable and accoustic.
I'm curious - what exactly are you doing at 1:24-1:27 ? I see that done alot by drummers, but I dont know what that's called or how you're doing it. It looks like a double tap with the right stick and a single tap with the left stick done really fast to a certain pattern? Is it that or you're just doing a "open roll" where your double taps are coming out slowly enough to where they sound like a fill ? I've been wanting to learn that a long time. Teach me please (:

ohh yea i hear that its called improvising! some just don't get that..lol..i play guitar and i look at it like im part of the band..i add to it,not play exactly whats goin on..i get some shit about it then i say look here is how they do it,now here is how i do it,shuts um up every time..lol
ima say something differnt then these people, i like the cover, i like the fills. i know you probably didnt care botu what it sounded but went with it and just jammed out, so good show on that. its not like he was playing for an actual band. just let him jam and let him do what he wants, every drummer is different.
right, ur right im just gonna say dont to many duhduhduhduhduhdudhuhduhd schhhh dont stop and do ur own little fast drum thigs 1 cause it after u do it ofr along time it get annoying and it makes u look like a show off. and im not saying that in bad way im just sayin work on it a little and im not a professinol drummer so... ill learn some stuff and ill talk with u then.
@ethiopianlover I agree. I'm not sure why so many people are praising this. It's way off. You just need a few years of fundamentals, like keeping time and creating a nice beat/groove. Maybe practicing on acuostic drums with a click track will help.
@mjpitche If you think it shouldn't be praised, do you think it should be trashed? There's no reason to look down on people for doing what they love. No, this cover is not spot on the original, and it could've been more fitting to the music, but what matters is that he is playing drums, and that his audience is enjoying it. Judging by the amount of likes against dislikes, I think he's achieved that very well.
@XxStrongDrums1996xX You're really easy to please!! This might be considered good for an eight year old but even then, I might tell him to build his skills for a few years before attempting this song or maybe he ought to give up and try something he's better at. It's an adult so that's even worse. Poor guy. He should pick an instrument he at least has some talent for. I'm embarrassed for him. He's living proof that not everyone is cut out for the drums and drumming aint all that easy.
@mjpitche Okay now you are just acting like an uneducated jackass. No, this is not the best cover in the world, but it is still something that I wouldn't mind listening to now and then. It doesn't make sense that you would judge somebody's skills based off of one video, and then tell him/her that he/she has wasted his/her life. Watch some more of this guy's videos and you'll feel like a dumbass.
@PakezSystematicWrath Lol I clearly have different music tastes than you, and as a musician, you should respect that. Also, I'm not saying that the guy in the video is bad, but the complete opposite. Read the comments before you make yourself look like a dumbass.
aaaahhhhhh more practice you killing a great song your good at time just work on the style you have to feel the beat man... and wayyy to many fills dood....
Ok, listen up and listen good. Get the basics down first before you start trying to do all the fancy rolls. Your killing everything by over playing. Which this song doesnt even call for. This is a Pocket Groove. Its all in the Hi-hat and the slight behind the beat kick. The only thing that is dead on the beat, is the snare. Good drummers play Pocket drums. And that song is a perfect example of a bad ass drummer who doesnt need to show you hes bad ass by doing a bunch of over played fills.
@Presonus I agree, the pocket the actual drummer on the recording does is what makes him great and makes the band and song sound great. That's what keeps a drummer employed.
Hmm. I guess this proves why I won't ever get a V-Drum set. Ghost notes either don't exist or are the same volume as a 2/4 backbeat. You have some smooth technique, bro! You need to practice ending some of those kickass fills in time, like from 1:25 to 1:28. Loved what your were doing. Very Vinnie and Weckl style. Keep working it!
i dont mind u being off on the kicks..it was still good cuz there's alot of people that cant do it...but careful on the fills..."its too much, try to be fancy and people forget it...music has got to breathe" -Eddie Wilson
Thanks for your prompt reply.. Seals numerology is 3 attitude / 4 life path - so its hard not to play like Stewart Copland (police) - not your best performance.. but really dig your understanding of artists.
The one thing you miss at times is the feel of certain parts of an acoustic kit, but you just cannot beat the sound quality and creativity of having it. Plus you will always have studio sounding drums.
What model kit is that?

you need to work on your feel dude... try to lower the volume of your ghost notes and gain more control over it...
and of course work on your timing!!
you have potential, just practice more with a metronome, make sure to be tight...
but overall, pretty good man

nice job.
just one thing.
you need to watch your timing on some of your fills as well as your kick beats,
they are a little of with the music at times or lagged.
other than that very well played.
nice.!
