I have some more predictions! Liberal idiots will be exposed for the myths that they are trying to create. The global warming hoax will be exposed. The do good liberal lies will be exposed. And the conservative movement will spread throughout the world and communism, socialism, and liberalism, will be defeated and be thrown out with the wash...ha ha ha!

Im currently attending Ryerson University studying business management.. and im a 19 year old student franchise manager... I dont think my field will have much problems in the future. My goal for the future is to go to Dubai right after University and work there for a while in the marketing field and then start my own international trade company there... and will be travelling back and forth from Canada and Dubai the 2 main branches of the company... can u plz give me some advice about this.....

Your best strategy would be to make connections with associations in your field. Also, check out the World Future Society (link in the Info area for this video). [Caveat: I am a member of the WFS staff.] Consider attending the 2009 conference in Chicago in July - there is a very generous discount on registration for full-time students. The conference program is extremely diverse, as are the opportunities to connect with and learn from a variety of professionals. Good luck!

Can someone please explain this in detail to me plz? I see a contradiction between "Professional knowledge will become obsolete" and "College majors and future careers will be more specialized"

The idea that professional knowledge goes quickly out of date suggests the need for constant skills training and lifelong learning. The pursuit of specialization in knowledge and careers is a strategy for individuals to maintain marketability. I personally think that most people will benefit from continuous broadbased learning AND more-focused training.

Ok that makes sense.. but the continuous learning you are talking about.. is it from explicit knowledge (colleges throughout life) or tacit knowledge(experiences after college) ?

Again, my personal opinion - I don't think there's a one-answer-fits-all response. In professions like engineering and medicine, constant training with new technologies is imperative. In whatever your chosen field, belonging to an association that offers seminars and training can be an advantage professionally. Personally, I've benefited from adult education classes ranging from tap dancing to Renaissance culture because they broaden my understanding of things outside my own experience.
