Everybody should have a copy of this album. When it first came out I made everyone I knew listen to it and they all love it to this day. Brilliant album.
I never really listened to this band, but my girl is a big fan and got me to listen to this CD, and this became my favorite song after listening to it twice.
I had read he couldn’t stand performing live and what all comes along with being very famous. He sure as hell knows how to write a great song. That album is FULL of great songs.
@BasswipeNC Its an awesome cd---Mine has got a small crack in it so I cant listen to track one and I cant find another copy. I've had mine since 2000 but the case still looks pretty good and I can still listen to all the other tracks--I like all of the songs except Technicolor Lover. All my buddies dislike all the songs on it except track 2 so I have to listen to it by myself-LOL
I got my copy off of Amazon a couple of years ago. They may still have it in stock. I love every song on that album! Definitely one of the best and most underrated albums of all time!
I think new radicals should return with the same training and come to show here in Brazil was very successful here should not have stopped turning is guaranteed success that took back ..
I wish they could have stayed together to continue making great music, but it wasn't what he wanted to do.
The fact is, is that there legacy was built basically around one album. That speaks volumes to the quality of their music.
In my mind, its more respectable for someone to make there mark quickly and then quietly back out. If they consider there music to be art, they don't need all the commercial success, and all the albums sold etc.
That 1 album they did is better than most bands entire 5 albums all together! I am mainly an 80s new wave ex death rocker and love this album. I do like alot of 90s britpop oasis, suede, verve, stone roses etc. There was some great shit that came outta the 90s. Again, i really love this album and respect these guys.
There's something about the timbre in his voice that just gives me chills every time I hear it. And this song is just so dreamy - that album was highly underrated by alot of the critics. It's one of my all-time fave albums. Dare I say he's pretty gorgeous too.
if they are still relevant in your mind, who is to say they wasted their talent?
heck, maybe them making one album was enough for them to make an impact on others. maybe not so much when they were active, but for now, when they are inactive
dont discount the energy and emotion you feel from thinking about them from then and now... if you still care about their music, or can conjure up feelings of "what if" then perhaps you can use those same feelings in your own life
@intensity1981 actually New Radicals was only Gregg Alexander! He writes songs again now! he just wanted to prove to himself that he could write his own hits! lol sorry but I really love him! This album and everything it stands 4! xx
@intensity1981 its not a "THEY" its one person Gregg Alexander , he played all the instruments and all the vocals recorded separately and hired people to play on tour , and he just wanted to focus on writing songs
i remember being very young and listening to the whole album start to finish over and over again completely blown away. 10 years later im obsessed with the beatles and the stones thanks to gregg
New Radicals only ever made one album.... well when all is said and done, it can only ever come down to one thing. Wasted Talent. What a friggin waste, i'm sure they regreat it now.
Actually, Alexander decided to disband the band to concentrate on songwriting and production. Since then, he has worked with Irish singer Ronan Keating who has been successful in the UK, Ireland and Australia but not the US and ex Spice Girl Melanie C. He also worked on an album by band member Danielle Brisebois which didn't achieve much success.
Word on the streets, out in these here jungles, is Gregory didnt like touring, 3 hours of sleep a night, and waking up to politic with promoters and salesman. I personally think he's a great writer, who loves the music more than the business. He still writes though. And Im sure you've heard his work and didnt realize it, cuz he uses different aliases all the time before he sells his work credited. Heard "the game of love" by Santana? yeah thats him just to name one...
