You know a song is great when it brings you to silence and you can just listen. This song was one of those for me. Thank you for such a great song Bryan.
This song sums up the phrase, "reading my mail"...Brian seems to have been reading notes from the deepest part of soul...reading my mail, so to speak.
This song is alternately encouraging while it also causes me to be introspective and seriously examine my walk.
I saw Brian at Utmost tour here at The Greek Theater in LA and then met Brian in a mall in Orange County circa 1997 or 1998...he signed a poster for me, which i still have and am quite honored to own.
I have just recently been reintroduced to CCM from the 80'-90's I had all but forgotten these great songs. This one I play over and over again and never tire of it, it say's it all. I realize now, that this music shaped the beginning of my desire to "walk the walk", and desire to draw closer to, and Please the Lord. After a very dry spell, I believe it was the Lord Himself who caused me to seek out this music that I had totally forgotten, I THANK HIM for His Faithfulness...Carol
Bryan's voice is such a gift. I've loved him since his Sweet Comfort days. His Christmas album "Christmas is Jesus" is my favourite. I never get tired of his voice. I'd love to hear him and David Phelps do something together.
I can't remember when the last time I listened to Bryan Duncan but its nice to go back and listen to his music again. I remeber as a kid my parents would always play his music. I loved it and I still do. He has an amazing voice. This song is a classic. So beautiful! I might just have to by his cd cuz I don't think those old tapes work anymore, lol!
Met him in person and saw him live - a great Christian singer and witty, so funny. Hope he he releases more songs in the future, his voice is amazing.
I first heard this song when I was about 9..and even then i was hooked to his music..im 22 now. And i dont think a day goes by where I havent listened to his music. One of the best, even today!!.
Your holy hands hold me still Shaping my heart anew Once vacant shell now reclaimed Offers its praise to You The one who searched till You found me A wounded lamb whose gone astray You stopped the world to recover me Oh Lamb of God, the price You've paid Repeat Chorus I make my promise to Do the one thing I can do with abandon I can give every heartbeat to You Repeat Chorus twice
Of all the hearts in the world I've only one to give So insecure, a desperate pulse Racing to Your embrace That You could want me and seek me Is more than words could ever say That You would love me and see in me A pearl of price, thrown away Chorus A heart like mine How could it be worthy that You'd find A way to redeem this hardened clay Twisted and broken Oh Father God above The wonder that You'd love a heart like mine
it's called either Step by Step- "Step By Step, oh yeah, like walkin on water..." or .... "Strollin on the Water"- "strollin on the water, high over every care..."
Bryan, some 20 years ago... I went to an all Christian bands concert at Disneyland. The main stage was Petra and the submarine come up stage was White Heart. You had a stage somewhere out-there, I heard your music first thru Sweet Comfort, and was impressed.
A Heart Like Mine... I can explain, my all time best.
I saw him once in concert. It was sponsored by the college I was attending at the time(Malone Colleg)He was there by himself. went by the name Bryan Duncan and his one man band. Had a synthesizer that had all his normal bands music stored in it. he just pushed a buton and played his part while the synth made it sound like a whole band was behind him. I wish i could back to 1989-90 and see him again.
This is one of the most special songs I have ever heard... I met Bryan about 23 years ago at a camp called Rocky Mountain High.... The days he spent with us would change my life. Although I believed in God at a young age, it was Bryan's music that would open my heart to see the Lord's love for me in a totally different light... what a blessing he has been to me through the years!
I was just sitting here needing to be feed spiritually. I typed in Brian, and saw this listened to this song and was Blessed. Sometimes you just need to sit and listen, and be thankful that the holy spirit can move you right through Youtube!
I love this song so much. I am also looking so constantly for "Love Takes Time" by Bryan Duncan. Goodness, if anyone finds it in video, please let me know. ((hugs)) chele
This song vividly recalls the memories I've had in Mountain View College; the freshenss of the campus, the innocence of the Christ-centered friendship, the concentration of spirituality in the midst of that beautiful place. The power of this song every time I hear it is that it transforms my mood positively and sets my mind aright. -Artaxerxes M. Garcia
My mother loves this song. LOVES it!! She doesn't know it yet, but I will dance with her to this song at my wedding next year. Now I can sing along with the correct words. Thank you steelnpearls. God bless.
This song achingly pierces my heart and echoes throughout... JeHoVaH is not only a God, He is a persistent Lover Who became a human being.. He had wounds to prove His love..
you're welcome..my pleasure for I love what this song says to my heart! How I love my Lord so....for I was a lost lamb and a hardened clay that was twisted and broken, but He called to my heart and made me whole again.
Your holy hands hold me still Shaping my heart anew Once vacant shell now reclaimed Offers its praise to You The one who searched till You found me A wounded lamb whose gone astray You stopped the world to recover me Oh Lamb of God, the price You've paid I make my promise to Do the one thing I can do with abandon I can give every heartbeat to You Sorry, by parts i coudn´t pos all but i hope it bless u

well there isn't a video of him singing this song so I just wanted those who don't know Christ to know just how much He loves us and is waiting for us to just stop and turn to Him for everything, even when we think we're not worthy.
Who would have thought that God can use us any way that he wants? The Lord shows his power through our weakness. A scrawny little dude with a voice like an angel.... It touches my heart.
What an awesome song! I've been blessed by this song and by Bryans music for so many years now. What can you really say about this song?! It is truly awesome!
i asked bryan once . what was in his mind when recorded this song.. hesmiled and laughed like the leprechan he is and said, i thought of whoi am and who he is and what a miracle it is that he loves me, he really loves us...
This song covers vast memories in me when I was once as student of Mountain View College. Every time I hear this, my heart opens and thrills through and through; it redefines who I was in the past,,-a theology student with my classmates and peers, enjoying our major activities: campings, retreats, potlucks,etc..

sorry I misspelled his first name. Please tell him I used this song to bring my high school boyfriend out of alcoholism and let him see that God loves him and he came back to Christ and is now teaching at his own Christian alcohol ministry through his church home...it's wonderful and I want you to please tell Bryan that it's all because of his words in this song I played for my high school boyfriend when we met again 8 years ago.
To steelnpearls: That is great.i will tell him. He like to hear those things. Sometimes we never know just how it is reaching someone. People say they like or love a song. And that is nice. But is the message making an impact? Thanks for sharing that. God bless you.
