  • playing this in my 8th grade honor band right now!!! woot!!!!

  • Playing this for concert band! like it

  • @LilmissDrummajor2012 I am playing this for my All-District band too :) i'm second flute. I played Solas Ane last year in my school band on bass clarinet and fell in love with Hazo's gorgeous pieces! Good luck on that solo :)))

  • @tinyrsdimplepi Solas Ane is amazing

  • I'm so excited to play this.... District Band 2012- first chair alto sax ♥ I got the solo... I hope I can do it justice. This piece is so beautiful.. I get chills. Tears welled up in my eyes as I followed along with my music. Beautiful.

  • Playing this and I get the chimes part. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah

  • I was first chair in IYWE when we played this :)

I'd pay my band directors good money to play this again

  • Awesome song, to play and to listen to! It made our band director tear up the first time we played it.

  • I wish my band was capable of playing music like this. I'm the only person in my band that owns and has played soprano sax, and I'm a trumpet player lol. That's the one thing I hate about being a small town school, there's just little to no musical exposure for our students and they have no drive to challenge themselves.

  • @SpartyOn2013 i feel u on that one

  • @SpartyOn2013 Hang in there, recordings and technology are an excellent way of giving students more exposure to good music

  • @SpartyOn2013 my school, we had to go to a state assessment each year...and if we failed the band program got permanently shut down...so we always strived for perfection..this song was actually one years final. we beasted the hell out of it and got straight superior ratings across the board. one of the happiest years of my life

  • @SpartyOn2013 i feel u T-T

  • playing this at ismaa state tomorrow

  • @headshotntheface2

You're in Indiana?!? :D? Awesome! :) And, it must be truly awesome to play a piece so beautiful...so engaging. :)

  • @shinglesofzeflute we won. trumpets had a trio with this. we played each time you tell their story, summer dances, this, and raging machines. we closed with each time you tell their story. that last 40 seconds was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. im from lewis cass btw. class d state champs

  • This song makes me cry it is so beautiful. Best song ever made:_)

  • I taught myself the soprano sax part on guitar. It sounds epic

  • @zebragirl2011 That's kinda funny, cause we did too. Haha

  • It is just beautiful. It makes me cry everytime. I love this piece of music! Samuel Hazo is an excellent composer. Hope he can compose more music like this. It's a pity that I have no chance to play this music T.T

  • we're playing this same arrangement for our spring concert. it's so pretty!

  • so i dont know if this is just me, but with that solo in the begining i like it much more on english horn than soprano sax...idk it just might be me

  • What a beautiful piece of music!

  • I played the Soprano Sax part my junior year in High school and was awarded a full ride to Cal State Long Beach.. I love this piece

  • @CDS1138 Awesome we played Our Kingsland Spring

  • i played this in nassau suffolk concert band this year =D i had the bass clarinet part with the flute and soprano sax =]]]]

  • I agree. While most of his slower pieces are better than his uptempo ones, Hazo is definitely a brilliant composer. His music just takes you places. (: We're playing this in my ensemble and it's brilliant.

  • Played the principle flute for this in grade 6. Still one of my favourite pieces even in university.

  • I got to be directed under Hazo. Awesome guy and super Motivational. One of my favorite songs from him.
