pointless race i think not, evos are a bore to drive with the 4 wheel drive, if you feel any under or oversteer in thses you have already crashed, and in the right hands the silvia would be a speed weapon. power on the evo might be 30 more than the silvia stock but these are modified car, so who knows what they are running.

Because of weight and aerodynamic reasons (F1 or other open-wheel cars). Also the biggest difference between 4wd and 2wd is not when driving on dry tarmac, but on slippery and wet conditions such as snow, mud, sand, and wet tarmac. The increase in weight is too much, and the corner-traction doesn't improve enough to put it in a tarmac only car, which will drive in dry conditions most of the time. Also it's quite expensive compared to 2wd, and 4wd steals horsepower.

4wd was tried by several F1 teams (including Lotus and Ferrari) in the years 1969-1970, but was eventually scrapped because it added too much weight and made the handling very bad. Basically it made the cars understeer terribly.

I mean, you can see that in one of the turn entrances, the S15 locked up it's brakes, skidding, and semi-drifted. Also, it was twitching in the middle of turns at high speeds. While the EVO did none of that.
